This hotel was amazing! From the welcome drinks, to the creperie and gelato in the lobby, all of the thoughtful extra amenities really made our trip. While we didn't go in the pool, we loved the beach area so much. The beach is narrow but that means no long walk to get to your beach chairs and beach chairs that sit right in the tide. (exactly how I like it). The chairs are pretty close together but it wasn't an issue really for us. The water was very clear and a beautiful blue color. The Veranda restaurant was great and we enjoy led eating outside while dining right next to the sea. The service for umbrellas/lunch at the beach was amazing as well. The rooms were ok, they could use a little updating but we didn't spend much time there so not an issue for us. Concierge was also very helpful. There were a few rocks in the water and I did hurt my foot on those but nothing the hotel can really control. Didn't love the gift shop, pretty limited and pricey. Sunblock was $20! Was looking for basics like gel and brush which they didn't have. All the staff was really amazing, we will definitely be returning.

We stayed here and the hotel staff are lovely. Yesterday, I inquired about a cookie which had been placed there earlier in the day but were not there in the afternoon. The person at the counter went into the back to search for one. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms and hallways need an update. The walls in the hallway look as if they have painted 10 times. I couldn’t believe I heard the baby next door crying in the room. The walls are paper thin. I felt as if I had no privacy. The bathroom floor is tiled with a shiny tile that is very slippery when wet. This is just dangerous. There is no beach to speak of in regard to walking. There has been a lot of erosion and no effort to adjust this situation by the hotel. My biggest compliant is the hotel fee which isn’t disclosed when you book this property. The Marriott is being sued in the States for this issue. It is a disgrace to be charged an additional fee for sitting on the lounge chair outside. These fees are absurd.

    The Beach was gone!

The hotel has numerous issues. The biggest is the false advertising. Photos show a decent size beach but they were taken long ago. The beach has eroded. There is no beach. Guests were outraged. Marriott needs to something about this hotel. I am a life time Platinum /Titanium member and a Marriott loyalist. I felt let down on what I hoped would be a nice family vacation.

Starting with check in we where not happy with our room location and Jose heard and upgraded us to a better room. The beach staff was amazing as well from Zack to Zap and our servers Abby and Neil - from always providing ice water to fresh fruit and prompt cocktails. Michael in the Veranda was superb! And the food through-out the hotel was fantastic! We have visited this hotel several times over the years and this was our most memorable experience! Kudo’s to everyone... and thanks Dennis & Lynda

My husband and I just returned from our babymoon at the Marriott Beach Resort. I am 6 months pregnant and we had an incredible 4 nights at this hotel. First off - it seems like the property is rebranding itself as "The Beach House." I'm not sure if this is an official name change coming in the future, but the vibe of the property is very much a modern, sophisticated beach house. I loved the decor in the lobby and the restaurants. Upon check-in, we were upgraded to room 424 (partial ocean view.) I'm not sure if that's because of our occasion we were celebrating, or my Marriott Silver Elite status (or both), but it was much appreciated! The room had everything we needed, including a small balcony with two chairs, small sofa, large sink with plenty of room for toiletries, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and water pitcher that gets refilled beside the ice machine on each floor. My only issue with the room was how humid it was during our stay. Even with the air conditioning turned on and the balcony door closed, the room was incredibly humid. I suspect other rooms have the same issue. The pool and beach area is nicely laid out with everything you need close by, such as towels, foot shower, and the bar. However, you probably don't need to get up and go to the bar yourself, because the servers work their butts off to ensure everyone is taken care of. I've stayed at resorts where you have to wait an eternity for a server to come by and take your drink order and another eternity for the drink to actually show up, but not here! If you're selective about what chair you want, you may want to get up on the earlier side to go out and reserve your chair but note that you can only leave your chair unattended for one hour. This was no big deal for me - I went out before breakfast and selected chairs, then went back inside to eat and then came back. There are also a variety of water sports/activities right here. You can paddleboard, kayak, snorkel or sail a hobie cat and it's included in the resort fee. One thing worth mentioning is the beach area is quite narrow. The chairs are literally in the surf. At first I thought that would be annoying but it's not bad. They have places to store your flip flops so they don't wash away but I do recommend bringing a waterproof bag to hold your belongings. Even when placed on a side table, at times the tide splashes up and you want to make sure your items are protected. If you don't want to deal with the tide, just sit by the pool. The pool chairs are more comfortable anyway, because they're padded. I will say, the circular water hammock things anchored in the ocean are amazing! We ate here for almost every meal and the food and service is wonderful. The breakfast buffet is great with lots of options and tasty coffee. I can see why Veranda restaurant overlooking the ocean is one of the most popular on the island. So beautiful and romantic - and omg those coconut shrimp!!! :-D I like that the hotel mixes it up with different food themes almost every night but for a change of scenery, simply cross the street and dine at Peppers restaurant for a more local, down-to-earth vibe. I also really like that this hotel offers healthier/lighter food options such as the fresh juices. And the gelato cart in the lobby every night is the perfect finishing touch! I highly encourage visiting the spa as well. I booked an 80-minute prenatal massage and an 80-minute facial. Zara took care of me and it was absolutely heavenly. Overall, we had a wonderful stay here and the staff really went out of their way to make me feel special as an expecting mother. A few staff members who stood out were our housekeeper Evelyn B, Wayne who works by the beach and pool, and Clare at Anchor & Den restaurant. I hope we can return soon!
