Great Hotel in its Day But a Little Tired
Jeff N (New York City, New York) on Mar 23, 2024
Very good service and very large rooms but they are a little tired. Hotel opened in 1927 as one of the initial hotels but the rooms could use a renovation. We only stayed one night but had good service and a two connected rooms, both with a large living room.
Excellent experience!!

The hotel was great!! It is just near the Waikiki beach, less than 5 minutes walk. The staff was great and helped me to get the view I wanted! Location is in the centre of Waikiki, with a lot of activities and shops for tourists. The only issue is that Waikiki beach is way too crowded during days!! Mahalo for great experience!!
Excellent experience!

We stayed five nights and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Our room was in the historic building and was spacious, clean and nicely appointed. Our housekeeper was amazing and so helpful. All staff encountered from check-in to check-out were courteous. polite and helpful. I only wish Azure would go back to an ala carte menu as they had in years past. We will be back next year for our 50th wedding anniversary!
Need an excuse to go back soon

This is an absolutely lovely hotel with a killer view. It sits right on Waikiki Beach and has tons of charm. Lots of cute shops in the hotel as well as having the royal Hawaiian mall right next-door. There's amazing food in the mall that can keep you more than satisfied, while it has classic American joints. It also has some amazing Japanese food and fresh local cuisine that puts the American chains to shame. The location is central to everything. There's a refrigerator in the room for leftovers and drinks. It is right next to an ABC store where you can buy anything you might've forgotten. What makes this hotel is the people. They are so kind and so nice and so willing to give you recommendations for your time in Honolulu. , We had running jokes with a couple of the valets, the individuals at the pool were both helpful and amazingly nice (fresh fruits were so good). Check-in was a breeze housecleaning. Did a great job. I have absolutely zero complaints about this place. I would happily stay there again.
Our favorite hotel on Waikiki

There’s something about this place that brings us joy! It is the second hotel on Waikiki and is now 97 years old. The hotel has an old world charm and is called the pink palace because, when built, the Portuguese talked them into painting it pink! Many hotels in area are basically cement surroundings. Not here as they still have gardens all around the hotel - beautiful! You can walk out hotel and you’re right on the Waikiki beach. Location has many walkable restaurants and shops galore! We’ve stayed here 4 times and in both the original hotel that has great charm and the towers that have a terrific views - so it depends on what you are looking for. Breakfast is wonderful outside and a view of beach/ocean. The only portion that we wish was different is the extremely small pool yet the Sheraton next door is affiliated and guests can use their pool as well.
