Great Waikiki hotel

Dchoch (Lewisville, Texas) on Apr 08, 2024

We stayed for a few days after our cruise and really liked this hotel. We had a great view of the ocean. Our room was large, the shower was nice with real pressure. It also had a bidet with the toilet heated. The place also has 2 ABC stores if you need snacks. They have towels to use at pool or beach. There is an adult pool as well as a family pool. Good restaurants on campus. They even have a scale in lobby so you can check the weight of your bags. They gave us a late checkout which we appreciated. Great hotel.

Just Ok.

amyzmailbox (Sunnyvale, California) on Mar 30, 2024

We had a good stay and were happy with our trip, but had issues with the hotel. It took us 45 mins to check in. Not a good start. They put a hold on our credit card for $795 for a 5 night stay, even though our trip was paid in full. I'm not even sure why this large of an amount was necessary. They said they would not charge us a resort fee and that it was included in our package. So why the $795 hold? They put us in a room that did not match the photos on the website. When I called they changed us to a room that was similar to the website photos. However, the closet was a closed off corner that was not usable and full of dust clumps. The bathroom was much smaller than the first room. They had two pools, and most of the loungers were only accessible by renting a cabana for $150 a day. Otherwise there were about 20 available at each pool for those who didn't pay (in a 30+ floor hotel.) They were taken by 7am or so each day. The beach across the street was nice but it isn't a private beach and there are no hotel loungers, umbrellas, etc available. You can rent one from a separate company if you want though. Ice is only on Odd numbered floors so you have to go down or up a floor to get ice if you are on an even floor, which we were. On the plus side, our housekeeper "Blandy" was fantastic and our room was always very clean. That was nice. The hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to all of our meals and everything was accessable. The game room was small but fun. We played pool there a few times. We also really appreciated having the ABC stores in the hotel.

Large hotel, long wait for elevator

VioletPurpl (Arlington, Virginia) on Mar 30, 2024

Large hotel by to the beach. Annoying elevator. No bottled water in rooms. The greatest annoyance with this hotel is the elevators. There are not enough elevators for the number of guests, so you end up waiting for 5 minutes or longer for an elevator. While you wait for the elevator there is an annoying timeshare guy that tries to sell you a timeshare presentation. Then people start lining up for the elevator so you have to be at the front of the line once the elevator arrives. Big nuisance. Check in was rushed due to the number of people in line. No explanation of amenities. We later found out that there are some complementary classes. Room is a nice size. No bottled water in the room. There are a couple of ABC stores where you can buy water, and there is a small fridge in the room. Balcony’s door is thin so you hear motorcycles and noise from downstairs. Bring earplugs. There is daily housekeeping but they arrive late. There is an Italian restaurant. We tried their pizza, it wasn’t great. There is a taco place across the street which was bad. You can take a surfing lesson on the beach. I took a complementary lei class. Try to get there when the class starts because the room fills up. You can get 2 beach chairs for the day. Get there when they open up. Continental buffet breakfast is complementary for platinum members. They serve eggs, fruit, pastries, coffee and juice. After 3 days I got tired of the same breakfast every day, they don’t change the offerings. I found the wait for the elevators so annoying that I would not stay here again.

Great location

SJFCalgary (Calgary) on Mar 25, 2024

Rooms are nice - location is perfect. Pool is good…staff friendly. Breakfast buffet is good (expensive - but so is everything in hawaii) Can rent beach chairs onsite. Lots of towels available. Worked perfectly for our family (kids ages 14/17).

Beautiful hotel, clean, and excellent hospitality

BryceAll on Mar 23, 2024

The Waikiki Marriott spa and resort is a fantastic property! This property is very clean and offers exceptional customer service. It has some of the most friendly and helpful staff of any hotel I have visited (and I travel weekly for business). Long time employee, Georgette, at the Kuhio beach grill (located in the hotel) greets guests with her Aloha spirit and a smile at breakfast; she is a true gem! The front desk has always been helpful, friendly and professional. I had the pleasure of meeting a manager named Cohco and a front desk supervisor named Lloyd who were fantastic and very welcoming! I also had the pleasure of meeting hotel manger, Chi, who was friendly and professional. It is evident after meeting him why this hotel is run so well! The employees have a true passion for hospitality. The rooms are nice, updated and well appointed. Many have great ocean views! Most importantly, they are very clean! Helen in housekeeping is always smiling and does an amazing job keeping the room looking perfect! We have met her on previous stays and always look forward to seeing her. The hotel is also in a great location and you can walk to tons of shops and restaurants. Mahalo to everyone at this great property. We will definitely continue to come back!
