We had a nice week here - people are very friendly, apartment was qite roomy - house keeper was always nice and early. Loved to spacious dressing room area. Didnt really use many facilities, however free trolley service to Whalers was great. Tried to rent a cabana bed on the beach however all had been hired as not many of them - and beach attendant wasnt too helpful. Apart from this cannot fault the resort. Grounds always nicely cared for.

We loved everything about this resort. The rooms, the location, beach, pool, etc. It is difficult to find hotels with 2 King or Queen sized beds and a sleeper sofa. We chose renting a private condo at MKV because it had 2 Queens and a sleeper, plus a kitchen and washer/dryer. It was incredibly large and comfortable. The MVK resort is just north of Black rock on Kaanapali beach. We steered clear of the condo sales & activities desk and “free drinks” and were never bothered with any sales pitches.

We stayed for 15 days at the end of August with my wife and son. As aways the room was perfect and the grounds were always very neatly kept. The pool was very nice as well. We rented a cabana for the time we were there, which I highly recommend. The location was great, with the Luau next door and along the nice beach path that goes all the way to the Whalers Village.

We stayed here for a week. The first room we got the first night was super old and smells moldy so we requested to move to another room. They didn’t have another 1 bedroom with ocean view but they said there’s one opening up the next day but it’s an ocean front. We checked it and the view was amazing so we paid $600 more but I have to say... if you want to see the sunset everyday get the ocean front room, it’s worth it. The staff were super nice and helpful. The concierge was very helpful booking our tours and suggested good ones too. They had a kids pool and the beach was really nice. They have a team that goes to other hotels and the mall. We will definitely stay here again.

You'll think you're at Disney Land with all of the mice running around inside of your room

For the first 3 days, we had no A/C because the batteries were low in the sliding door transmitters. This fooled the A/C into thinking that the sliding doors were open when they were closed. The maintenance man brought us a fan that he said was from the front desk. The older maintenance man replaced the batteries in the sliding door that did not have a cover on it. He left thinking that he had fixed it. We still had no A/C so I again called down to the desk to ask for maintenance. They never showed up when they had all day to fix it. The third night I called down for maintenance when we got in for the evening. They sent up a kid that started changing the same batteries in the sliding door transmitter that the other guy changed 2 nights before. He started arguing with me about how to fix it. He then changed the batteries in the transmitter on the hallway door. Even though the thermostat said Sliding Door Open when it wasn't. I asked why are you arguing with me just put new batteries in the other sliding door transmitter on the door that could be opened. He finally put a new set in it and it fixed the problem. The front desk then called up for the upright fan saying it was the front desks. When I went down there they had another fan running and was just lying to get the fan back. I was sitting on the bed when a mouse ran from the kitchen to behind the dresser. I called down to the front desk but he said they had no maintenance at night. The kid came up and dropped off an electric mouse trap. I ended up opening the outside door and taking the paddle off the wall. When I walked into the kitchen and he charged me up the paddle I gave him a Lacrosse shot across the kitchen and out the open door into the hall. The mousetrap was left with us but it caught no mice. The next night another mouse came running across the bedroom floor. I again opened the door to the hall and grabbed the paddle off the wall. I went after Mickey and he came running up the paddle as I power-moused him out in left-field out in the hallway. The maid leaves the door open in the daytime while she cleans and the mice just run in the rooms to their heart's content. We should have canceled our reservations when we came there and the first thing I saw was a rat running across the sidewalk by the rat trap when my wife walked down to see the beach. We had just come over from a comped 5-day shop at the Hyatt Regency. We then went onto the Ritz-Carton for a comped 2-day stay. When we went to check out they tried to charge us a price higher then what we were quoted when I made the reservation. When we checked in we were quoted an even lower price than the other one. The check-in girl wrote the quote on an adding machine print out. The manager working that day would not honor that price because it did not have the name of the girl working. I said well just look up who was working that day and check with her. She said she couldn't do that. She ended up going with the higher price that I had an email for. Even though I was quoted another price by their reservation desk when I shortened the stay to go over to the Ritz-Carlton. All of my phone calls are recorded so I had proof of them saying the price. She ended up charging me more than I was quoted after I shortened the stay by 2 days. We have been back to Maui twice and we no longer stay here instead we stay at a VRBO over in Kehei that is cheaper and so much newer. We walk out the sliding door to the pool 10' away. It comes with a washer and dryer in the room and no rodents.
