    Rooms and grounds had potential, but verrry much in need of some cleaning and TLC. Lots of stains on furniture (gross)... very first thing I noticed about the property was how badly it needs to be power washed and painted. Seriously old and tired looking. This resort is most likely banking 100% of the profits and putting nothing aside for upkeep. As others mentioned, chairs are scarce (with people from neighboring resorts sneaking in to use the pool as well)... and forget about getting a reservation for Dukes. Save yourself some money and make your own drinks. Pool side drinks from Dukes are expensive, small, and have like zero alcohol in them. We booked an “ocean view” room.. lol. What a joke. We got an adjacent building view room with a tiny sliver view of the ocean. These things wouldn’t bother me if we had paid an average price for our stay.. however, they’re charging premium rates for an average, run down resort. That being said, my kids loved it. Pools are great. However, we won’t be back. Money better spent elsewhere, IMO.

    The grounds and amenities are lovely, however, it is way too crowded and noisy. Here we are, at almost 10 pm, sitting on our patio trying to enjoy a glass of wine and all we can hear is the continuous sound of screaming kids in the pools rather than the lovely sound of the gentle ocean waves. The pools are noisy and crowded all day long and getting a chair is impossible. If looking for a place for a couples or adult getaway, I would surely choose somewhere else.

    This resort has some of the best condos. We had a two bedroom and it was huge with great views. Very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for that. I’m only giving it a four star because the grounds were so crowed with lack of pool chairs and space for all the guests. I completely understand that it is covid related but no one wants to spend their morning worrying about pool chairs. Tons and tons of little kids. I have two teenagers so this usually isn’t a big deal but they took over. There is a quiet pool that can be used but again very few chairs. I’ve stayed here twice and totally would again but just beware if you want a relaxing quiet time at the pool. However the rooms can’t not be beat. I’d stay again.

    We spent 9 days in H648 in late March into early April and booked thru KBM. We had a two bedroom condo with full kitchen and two baths. The room was not well kept with stains in the carpet of both bedrooms, headboards, and furniture upholstery. The bathroom vents were very rusty. They did not even provide a single trash bag so we arrived to unlined garbage cans. We tried to make reservations at Dukes while still on our plane at arrival and they did not have a single opening available for breakfast or dinner the entire nine days. You can get in for lunch or pick up food and drag it to your room to eat. The line at the bar for drinks is 20-30 minutes. The ice machine in our room and the one in the parking garage were broken. There is not a human in the lobby ever. The grounds are well kept but the interior of the buildings are not. The elevators are filthy and frequently had muddy floors for more than 24 hours from wet pool guests. Can you have fun here. Yes. But you have to cook, drive for food, or eat take out. There are a lot of fast food options nearby but nothing good. You pretty much have to drive into Lahaina for a sit down meal. Book all of your reservations more than 10 days before you arrive because they will be full. The only place I would recommends Sloppy Cakes for breakfast. The pools are packed. They don’t have a lazy river. It is a river shaped pool with no current or floats. I was very underwhelmed and would stay elsewhere if we return.

    Family of 6, 3 adults and 3 kids stayed in 2 bed/2bath condo from March 25 to April 1. Condo was spacious with a good layout. Grounds were beautifully landscaped and there were many pools to choose from. However the advertised lazy river had no water movement- just a u shaped pool. Disappointing for the kids but possibly due to COVID. Never once was able to get a chair at any pool. The quiet adults pool had kids in it and security did caution the kids to be quiet and not splash. But allowed them to remain. Still we very much enjoyed all the different pools. First day one bath had a toilet handle that required repair - it was fixed shortly after our call. The ice maker also did not work - it was fixed mid-trip so had to purchase ice cubes and deal with a mini-flood caused by the ice maker. Out of 8 days we might have gotten 48 hours of wifi. We arrived early only to find out they no longer have a room to store luggage. Wound up using one of the public bathrooms to change into swimsuits and had to haul our luggage around the pool areas. Not a very good welcome. Then our room was not ready for our 4:00 check in. They said they would call us when ready - by 4:30 we decided to go to the room and ask them how long for the room to be available- turns out it was ready and the front desk never did call us. These issues might be due to all the COVID changes but customer service was lacking. That said they did give us a decent credit for our problems at checkout. I liked the location of the resort. Although the beach directly in front was not good for swimming, it was just a short walk south to a good swimming beach. And that walk was lovely - other hotel restaurants easily reached from the same boardwalk. Also a decent grocery store about 1/2 mile inland. A few restaurants in that same mall. One last thing to note, we rented direct from the resort and had no beach toys in the unit and the kitchen dishes/cooking supply’s were very limited. It seems people renting direct from owners had better kitchen supplies and a closet full of boogie boards, snorkeling gear, etc. So if I were to stay here again I would definitely look at renting from an owner. I gave this 3 stars due to the service issues we had - otherwise certainly would be 4 star.
