First time staying right in Kehei and this was a great choice. The unit we were in was clean and in very good condition. We were at most a five minute walk to Kamaole 3. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops etc.

Something you should be aware of before renting at Maui Kamaole. The condition and representation of the units is totally at the discretion of the owner. Some units are lovely, most ok, and some are unfit for habitation. We just stayed in one of the latter and paid top dollar. The furniture was trashed, unit was filthy and full of cockroaches and ants, closets stuffed full of junk, no towels or washcloths, and the kitchen was an ill-equipped mess. The "TV" in the bedroom was a non-functioning small computer monitor. See attached photos. We've stayed at Maui Kamaole many times but never again. The on-site staff and agency we rented from both said that at this property, there is no minimum standard for furnishing or maintaining the units. So--buyer beware! In particular, steer clear of unit H-104. The photos on the rental website describing the property were misleading.

We stayed at Maui Kamaole. We have been coming to Maui for several years. When we arrived at the condominium the A/C was not working. The technician said he would get the correct part and come fix it the next day. He never returned the next day or the day after and we did not sleep very well on the 3rd floor our entire stay. We were given the run around. I would not recommend staying at this property. The pool also has strict rules and basically just a soaking pool. Really disappointed

    Nice Hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in room B106. First impression of the room was that it was nice and clean. There were a few minor cosmetic issues but nothing too bad at all. As far as the room goes itself, the only issue we had was ants. The place was sprayed down a week prior but that didn't matter. Couldn't leave anything out. We had to get some ant traps while we were at the store. The kitchen was nice to have as we were able to get groceries and make breakfast nearly every morning. Make sure you go to Times market and not Safe Way. Times are better priced... by far. The location of the hotel was great too. Normally we stayed in Lahaina but this time I chose to stay in central Maui so we can stay close to everything. Saved a lot of time in the car. The only downside to the location is the beach. If you go to the right to Kamaole 3 beach, it can be a little crowded and the waters a little rough. Plus it is a couple of minute's walk. We prefer to head left to the Mauna Kai beach. It is about the same distant walk. The last couple of days we drove. The beach is a lot bigger and seems to have calmer waves. That's not to say that it doesn't get rough. Some reasons we took a point off was because of the ants, beach and the issue of finding plugs. They were hidden behind the furniture and we had to plug phones and watches into the kitchen and bathroom. The main reason I took a point off was the checkout. Checkout is at 10 am. I called the number to ask for a late checkout and they said I can check out at noon. I said ok and was told to call the front desk to ask about holding our luggage as we had a late PM flight out. The girl at the front desk had no idea what I was talking about and just said no. I don't feel safe carrying our bags in the car around with us. Especially our two laptops alone are worth $3500 each. There are a few "businesses" that offer to pick up and store your luggage for a fee. For us it would have been about $80. I called the condo office back and they said for half a day's fee, we can stay in the room until 8 pm. We went ahead and did this. There is a guard that walks around at night so I'm not sure why they can't store bags for guests. From just a quick look, this was a common issue with the place. Overall it was a good hotel and would consider staying here again.

Stayed in unit 210 for 3 nights. Pros: Spacious. 1 bedroom with queen bed and a loft with another queen. Fully equipped kitchen. Beach gear available. Pools were nice. Reserved parking spot. Cons: Carpet was old. AC not powerful enough to cool loft space. Bathroom had mold and toilet was old. My son did not want to use the bathroom. My sisters stayed in other units that were much newer. Not sure how you can guarantee getting a good unit upon reservation. I would not stay here again.
