Overview
Come witness the urban oasis that is The Garland, a Hollywood boutique hotel featuring the perfect balance of retro-cool and casual sophistication. Fun, family-friendly and ultra-comfortable, The Garland is a convenient choice amongst hotels in Hollywood, CA.
Time has only improved this iconic Hollywood boutique hotel in the heart of LA. In 1970, legendary Hollywood actress Beverly Garland, and her husband Fillmore Crank, discovered this bucolic seven-acre property and knew they wanted to create a hideaway for friends, family and guests. Together with Las Vegas hotel impresario, John Kell Houssels Jr., they decided to build one of the most stunning North Hollywood hotels, which would serve as an oasis within the high-energy excitement of Los Angeles.
In 2000, the Beverly Garland hotel was handed down to their son James, whose unpretentious, sophisticated style influenced the expansion of the hotel into a true resort. Chic, relaxed and centrally located, guests here are close to the Hollywood landmarks, popular attractions and world-renowned business epicenters, all while being ensconced within the urban paradise the Garland family created. Today, The Garland has been reimagined and renovated with a hip new restaurant, cool décor, manicured outdoor parks and fresh ideas. Purpose of visit: Universal Studios Trip. We stayed three nights at the Garland. It was great! The hotel and grounds are clean and quiet. The restaurant on grounds was convenient and had good food. There was a free, hourly shuttle to Universal Studios (most hours). Rooms are nice. The decor is a funky, cool 1970s vibe... but not in a bad way.... a cool way. During Check-in, we were chatting with the employee (Rosy) Our son is autistic, and loves elevators. We were getting assigned to a room on the first floor. He heard and became upset. She told him he can still ride the elevators, but he was... not happy. She was able to find a room on a different floor, and asked if we'd like that. He did! She was so kind to take the time to help our family. If that wasn't enough, the Brady Bunch house is just a short walk away!
The Garland - A touch of class

Just had the absolute pleasure of spending 2 weeks at this incredible hotel. We wanted a safe space to properly explore LA and the Garland gave everything and more we needed. We were a little worried about the location and possible noise as we aren’t great sleepers… and while there was traffic noise the rooms have decent sound proofing and are so nice and super comfortable we had no problems at all. The hotel is beautiful and so well thought out.. food and drinks are great and the restaurant about the best place we ate! And we did explore. All the staff were brilliant, housekeeping fantastic. The free coffee in the room was some of our favourite coffee in LA! And we are coffee snobs. Pool not massive but big enough and plenty of nice sun beds and fresh towels. Loved all the touches, outdoor cinemas around the pool each night, street food cart was fantastic (best corn I’ve ever had) Honestly… this place is a joy! From. Quick break to a longer holiday you will be happy here. It’s super comfortable, chilled and all class.
