I came to this hotel on a timeshare deal so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised! I will say it’s a very beautiful property and I love seeing all the whales every morning so definitely try to go in January or February. The first night we came the food was horrible, we went to the taco place and the churros were served frozen and the tacos were horrible. We also went to the Italian restaurant and even though the service was great we weren’t a huge fan of the food. However, my friend tried all the other food at the hotel and said it was pretty good especially the sushi. But the cool thing about our stay was we were able to eat here and at Marina fiesta and the food at Marina fiesta was five stars! So being all-inclusive allowed us to have amazing food so I really can’t complain. We had a few hiccups with our rooms but I feel like they tried their best to fix any problems we had. Eventually, we ended up with a perfect ocean view room which we loved. Even though this hotel is away from all the action at the marina I loved it because it was so peaceful. This is perfect if you’re looking for a romance or if you like to just get sleep at night! Mauricio at the front desk was great! Loved the breakfast and the staff! When we arrived they upgraded our room because they had a better room available which I thought was very nice. Overall it was a good stay and I loved the mini bar in our room. They have great jacuzzi tubs as which might have been my favorite! If you pick this hotel you won’t go wrong!

    My favorite place!

Hacienda Encantada is my favorite place to be. It is beautiful. The food is amazing. Breakfast at Las Marias is wonderful. The staff are friendly and personable. The cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. The best spa and massage ever. Fun activities. I love sitting on comfortable chairs on my patio and reading. The couch on the patio is perfect for an afternoon nap. Gotta go - music is playing. It’s Mexican buffet night at El Eden.

My husband I enjoyed our stay at this resort. We were delighted that the resort was gated and private. Our suite was beautiful with an incredible view! We had an all inclusive package and found the food, beverages and service to be amazing. The grounds are well manicured and tropical. We found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. Eggs Benedict every morning for me and they were perfect every time. We have already booked our trip for next year, can't wait!

Check-in was smooth. I booked a King sized bed in our Luxury Suite, but we got two full sized beds instead. It was hard getting reservations for the restaurants included in our all-inclusive package. Some restaurants require dinner reservations while others don't. Breakfast is a good buffet at Las Marias. The staff at Il Forno are not attentive at all and the manager is a little rude. Several times we said 'good evening' or 'hey, how are you' with no response given. With our all inclusive package, we are supposed to be able to eat at all restaurants for free. We paid a pretty hefty price for the all inclusive. We wanted to try several things on a menu at a restaurant and were told that we could only each have one item. I was a little disappointed at that as we like to try new cultural foods. Keeping in line with food, the room service here leaves A LOT to be desired. Twice now we have used room service. With our all-inclusive plan, we are supposed to receive a 40% discount. They did not put our discount on the cheese quesadilla we ordered resulting in a total of $16 for ONE cheese quesadilla. Tonight we ordered room service again and asked them to make sure the discount was added. We ordered a piece of chocolate cake and a piece of cheescake. Total after the discount was $14. A picture of the cakes is attached for reference. These two pieces of cakes were only 2 inches big. TINY for $14. And to top it off, both cakes were warm and it took an hour for them to arrive at our room. One of the bellhops, Erik is wonderful. He has been so helpful. Our Carrera (maid) has been wonderful. Braulia has done a phenomenal job making sure everything is clean and in order. She even left a cute swan on our bed! I'd also like to recognize Andres at La Patio for his excellent service. If you plan on doing your laundry while here, bring your own change in quarters. It is $4 for one washer load and $4 for one dryer load, but you will probably need to run the dryer twice. Ours were still wet after one load. If you plan on getting quarters for the units from the store at the resort, plan on paying a HEFTY price. The price for $8 in quarters was $20. Most everyone else who works here is nice and greetable. The gardeners do a great job at keeping the place looking great. They don't get a lot of recognition. Erik, one of the bellhops, is fantastic and has a great attitude. He was super helpful all throughout our stay. I prepaid all of the resort fees and "recovery fees" so I hope they won't try to add a lot on at our check-out process. I will update it when we check out. **UPDATE** We checked out this morning and was greeted by a bill 3x the amount we expected. One reason is because when you buy things on their store online (spa, excursions, etc) the payment doesn't get posted to your account. I had to argue with them about it and luckily I saved my receipt for the online purchase. Secondly, I had already paid for the room, a total of $3,000. Today, at 6AM, my credit card called me asking to confirm or deny a charge of the same amount AGAIN! They charged me a second time for the entire room. Within the charge, I paid $490 in "resort fees," but then they charged me an additional $5 per day for "cleaning." I argued that, but they would not take it off. I ended up just paying it to be done with them.. Unsatisfied with the hidden fees, additional fees, on top of the $490 "resort fees" I already paid.
