    Cabo - Escaping the Coronavirus

    Sandos Finisterra is a very nice resort situated in a perfect location between the Pacific Ocean and the Cabos San Lucas Marina. You can walk the beach (but no swimming allowed), or you can take a shuttle, walk, or water taxi to one of the many beaches along the Marina area, bay or Sea of Cortez. The resort itself is a mix of old and new. We stayed on the first floor in a dated, but very comfortable and functional room. The room wasn't as elegant as some of the resorts we have been to, especially for the price. but you are paying for location to some degree. the staff were awesome, from Javier at breakfast, to Fernando 911 and Arturo at the beach bar, or even our bell hop Nicolas, we felt very pampered. the couples massages were fantastic! The food was decent, but not spectacular. Breakfast was the same each day. There are four dinner restaurants on the premises and all were decent. The pools were clean and inviting. Towels were always fresh and clean. The pool entertainers including Israel, DJ Dexter and Wendy kept it fun with music, trivia, and games. We booked two excursions through the concierge and they worked out very well. If you go Jan-March, make sure you do some whale watching. It's spectacular! We saw a double-breach of two humpbacks! What a highlight! All said, a nice, clean. well-maintained resort that kills it with location. When the rooms are updated, this will be 5-stars!

    That was an wxelent visit. I enjoy everyone was the best service. Israel, luis bar, jesus my eoom lady 1303, thank to all doe the great job and attenti6to us travelees. Thanks to all. Every nigh show exelent.

    We had a gorgeous suite and treated like royalty throughout our week. It's been a week since we've been home and the vacation is still with us. I can only hope all of the people that made this vacation so fantastic are still in my memory so please forgive me if we miss any - Bernie, Miguel, Daniella, Gloria, Wendy, Victor, Israel (owner's pool bar), Israel Jr, Carlos, Enrique, Paul, Emma, Gustavo, Luis, Gabriel, Brayam, Joel, Noe (pizza guy), the beautiful ladies & handsome gentleman at the Spa. The Plaza shows and white party are 2nd to none! The breakfast buffet and sirloin burger on the beach were amazing. The Royal Elite staff always make checking in and out such a pleasant experience as well!

    From the first day of checking into the hotel, the bellboy, Nicolás, was amazing. He ensured that we felt welcome and informed us of all the great things to do at the hotel. The room had some issues that were addressed by Nicolás, and everything was fixed once we got back from breakfast the next morning. Resort was amazing and has a great view of city and Ocean. All the restaurants had a good selection of food and loved that room service was 24 hrs. Can’t wait to go back again.

    Sandos Finisterra Feb 24 – Mar 9. 2020 Hi Sergio and Nicki! Again, we had a fantastic time at Finisterra and as usual it was the people who make our stay feel like we are coming home. This was our fifth time. We tell people now we live in Finisterra (for two weeks) but vacation in Canada for the other 50 weeks of the year. Some of your staff we met again, and some for the first time. I am sorry that I forgot to get all their names. I will do better next year. These are only a few of the great people you have on staff that make our vacation feel like we are coming home. Others who deserve a mention are the front of house guys (Bellmen) at the front door who welcomed us, took our bags, found out our room number, and had it all there before we even got to the room. The young man at Cupcakes who, after two nights, remembered what we wanted for our late night smack and drink and even stayed open a few minutes after his time, because we were watching the shows at The Plaza, to make sure we were looked after. Again above and beyond. The Royal Elite Staff who checked us in and also made sure that our coffee pot was provided from storage. I know we are somewhat picky on our coffee machine but your staff go above and beyond to ensure our needs are fulfilled. To all the staff around the resort who always said OLA!, asked how we were doing, and if we were enjoying our stay, or was there anything they could do for us! They are very pleasant, outgoing and a pleasure to deal with. Our first day there, when we went to the Elite Pool, we again met up with Ismail, the bartender, who welcomed us with great enthusiasm and knew exactly what we wanted to drink. What a memory. At Don Diego’s on our first morning breakfast we were met again by Karen, the hostess, Richie the bartender, and Paul, our server. All of these people remembered us from last year and welcomed us back with open arms. It felt great to be remembered! Another new person we met was Puga, who has an infectious smile and a great bubbly personality. At Agava restaurant for dinner, Cristal the hostess, who was new, was very pleasant and welcoming. Adalberto the waiter, and Miguel the manager, also remembered us from last year and made us feel very welcome. The food is excellent by the way! I am sorry I did not get the bartender’s name but he mixed our drinks to perfection. On our third night we went Tortuga Restaurant and were met by Oscar the waiter. We got great seats with a view of the beach and ocean. Great food and Great Service. We also stopped by Tortuga a few days later in the morning to meet up with Jaime, the bartender who was our first bartender six years ago at the Elite Pool and we are so glad to see that he is in fine health and remembered us as well. We met up with him a few times, he makes a wicked Marguerita!! At Emiliano’s Restaurant, we were met by Carolina, the hostess. I asked here her name, and although I did not remember her she remembered us from last year, as it was here first day on the job and was very anxious, but she stated that we made her feel very good about her service. Right back at her! Another great find for your staff! Also Hilario, the waiter, at Emiliano’s, remembered us from last year. Great memory and great service. Also Rodolfo, the bartender came out personally to ask about our drinks and how we liked them. Again, to perfection! At Tortuga for breakfast we had Gustavo as our waiter for breakfast. It was fantastic! Although we never get to see them, the chefs and kitchen staff everywhere prepare great meals. Tasty, sized perfectly , and very well presented. A great big shoutout to all of them. At Agava on Tuesday night we were looked after by Nancy, the hostess, and Armando the waiter. Again, great food and service. The steaks were perfectly cooked. Ellen asked for a special mixed salad as she is very particular about her food and the chef, whoever he was on that night prepared an excellent salad, which she thoroughly enjoyed and each night thereafter when she asked for a mixed salad they were always different in some way but still very, very good. Brayam, the replacement bartender at the Elite pool was excellent, and I gather Ismail briefed him on the drinks we liked and he knew exactly how were liked them. Talk about great communication and great service. WOW! Also, Eva, our housekeeper, who we never see, but we always know when she is around does a great job on our rooms and also left us some towel art for our bed! Thank you Eva! What a nice surprise to come home to. On another night at Agava, Joel helped with the service and was very outgoing and pleasant to talk to! On another night at Emiliano’s we met up with Mario. I forgot to make a note of his position, but again, he remembered us from a year ago. Bernie the Butler, who also remembered us from past years, and his partner Miguel, ensured that our evening reservations were made and that our Cabana was ready on the day we went to spend at the main pool. On that day, Oscar, the waiter, ensured that our drinks were delivered in a timely manner and kept them coming, always checking first to make sure what we wanted. Also your Pizza Place is an excellent place to eat for lunch. Your guys in there do a great job keeping up with demand, and make excellent pizzas. We went there several other times just for the Pizza Lunch!! Great job guys! It was also a pleasure to finally meet up with you and Nikki again this year. This letter is a testament to your commitment of excellent service to your guests and it shows though the excellent way in which your staff, deal with your guests. I wish I could say more but this will have to do for now. Thank you to all the Management and Staff at Sandos Finisterra for another excellent vacation! We will be back next year.
