My brother and I stayed at this hotel and were taken aback by the level of opulence we were sorounded with. The staff were all excellent but I feel that I need to mention a few by name... Patrice ran the poolside area with the kind of attention to detail that ensured no guests were left without a drink whilst soaking up the sun. Shereen was another star in my view and was responsible for the seating of guests for breakfast/ dinner. She took time to listen to the various requests from guest and would at times ask for a meal to be prepared for a guest who had requested it that was not on that days menu. Mellissa, now known as the cocktail queen, had the knowledge and experience of running a bar that should also be recognised. Her manner and approach made everyone relaxed. Many a night was spent relaxing with fellow guest with Mellissa working her magic behind the bar. She made all feel at ease and was quite the conversationalist, no matter the topic. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this resort, because of its size (only 49 rooms) you are afforded a personal service by all the staff... cannot recommend this place highly enough

One year after our last visit, what has changed.

My wife and I recently returned from a 10 day visit to Zoetry Montego Bay. This was exactly one year since we were there. We were expecting changes and did see some. Let me explain: The resort was bought a little over a year ago. What they got was a three star hotel and what they wanted to do was turn it into a 5 star resort. How did they do? Let me start by looking at ambience. Renovations in room are complete and the rooms themselves are very nice. Large bathrooms, firm beds (some think too firm), very nice common areas. The beach is still full of sea grass and the only way to enjoy the ocean is by going to the end of the dock and down a ladder to a beautiful patch of clean sand. The hotel is expecting approval to remove and relocate the seagrass later this summer. That would go a very long way to achieving the desired 5 star look. Additional cosmetic work is necessary, but it did not in any way bother me. Food: They have made progress in the past year. Breakfast is a la carte and tasty. A poached egg is not underdone, nor overdone. The smoked salmon tastes like it would at a terrific New York or Montreal deli. Lunch, we took poolside and was delivered to our pool chairs. The menu changes regularly and the food was uniformly good. Dinner: Fish here should be their forte, however, is was very often overcooked. Steak was a very pleasant surprise. The filets were actually thick, tender and properly cooked to order. Theme nights were well presented, the Jamaican night's curried goat was perfect. We went to the Polo Club only once as I have an issue walking up stairs, but the night we went up, I had the best fish and chips that I have had in years. Service: To me the most beautiful hotel in the world that has mediocre staff immediately drops out of 5 star range. Conversely, a very good hotel with spectacular staff can overcome small deficiencies elsewhere. The staff here are spectacular. The General Manager has been able to either train or help to blossom a wonderful group of employees. I normally speak to any staff, housekeeping, groundskeepers - anyone who is normally not client facing. I must say that all staff, even one's who are often in non client facing roles were, to a person, friendly and a pleasure to talk with - very pleasant surprise. The client facing personnel were memorable, from F & B staff, to front desk and butlers. Yes butlers. We have been to a number of resorts that promise butler service and invariably they meet you the first day and you may never see them again. Not here. Our butler actually buttled. He went out of his way to ask every day if there was some way he could make our stay more enjoyable, from special requests of the chef, to making sure our pool side chairs were always shady. Thank you Nicholas. Our most frequent waitress at breakfast we had met last year and she still remembered us and made sure that my wife had lemon for her smoked salmon, even if she had to bring one from her tree at home. We were sad to say goodbye to Amevia. Our pool and lunch server was Patrice, again a holdover from last year. Unlike many places, where you may see a server every 30 to 45 minutes (go get your own drink!), Patrice was by our chairs at least every 15 minutes. Every guest I talked with thought she was fantastic. Our evening waiter was most often Damion. He was spot on, never messed up an order, remembered what little things we liked or didn't. During conversation my wife mentioned that she really liked Jamaican rum cake. The next day, Damion had asked the chef to bake her one, which he served to her for 2 days (off limits for others). The front desk staff were very good. As I mentioned I have a medical condition which makes climbing stairs very painful. I had emailed ahead to request a room in the building with an elevator or a ground floor room. When we arrived we were accomodated with a ground floor room and the assistant GM came over to welcome us back and confirm our arrangements. The General Manager, Saul, has had a little over a year to get this staff to where they are now and I think he deserves a lot of credit. Training is one thing, finding the right people and teaching them to blossom is not easy, but he has done it. It is also the first time where I have seen the GM speak to each guest every day to see if they had any suggestions, concerns, whatever. He noticed that I was wearing a T shirt from Hawaii, a very frequent destination for me for the past 40 years. He commented that he had been there once and really enjoyed the North Shore of Oahu. I asked him if he had ever tried Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp from Giovanni's Shrimp Truck. He said he had and loved them. I told him I had the recipe and sent it to him. That would have been at 1 o'clock. When we went to dinner that night, it was the Chef's Special. For me! This is a little long. I am afraid I look to service as outweighing location or ambience. I will be back and hope that physical improvements occur as planned.

Stayed 4 nights at Zoetry with my spouse. What an incredible experience. The resort is a short 15 min ride from the airport. We were warmly greeted and treated like royalty the entire time we were there. The check in process was simple and the butler took care of our luggage for us and gave us a grand tour. The resort is on the small size and this is a great advantage. Never did we have to fight to find a chair around the poor or at the beach. Service was amazing and always with a smile. We also both had massages and the one from Nashell was one of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back

We had a great time on this trip! The room was comfortable and clean. This is a small resort (49 rooms) and pretty quiet. Yoga, pilates and aqua aerobics are all available every day. There is a complimentary snorkel trip every day at 9 that is a must. It goes out to a very healthy reef that is just a short boat ride away. There is also plenty to see just off of the shore of the resort. Food was very good - we ate at Jerky Joe’s for at least half of our lunches! Knichell and Diana were very good masseuse at the spa. I get massages on a regular basis and was impressed. All of the staff are friendly and helpful; plus because of the small size of the resort, they really get to know you during your stay and you them.

This is perhaps one of the best places I have ever stayed. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and the staff did not disappoint in helping us celebrate. Our butler was amazing in helping us with anything we needed. Truely top notch and always right there when you had a request. The food was excellent and if you like meat, Jerky Joe's is the place to be. Our room was fantastic! Our view was fantastic! Why should you believe this review? I have been to other Zoetry resorts. I have been to many, many Secrets resorts. And I have been to numerous Breathless resorts. The staff at Zoetry Montego Bay is what makes it great. No pressures. Just relaxation, fun, and great food. There are too many staff names to add here but I will be sure to spell them all out to the general manager. We will see this family again soon.
