Great for Celiac Safe Family Holiday

Kreb76 (Ottawa, Canada) on Apr 13, 2024

We really enjoyed our stay, but noticed a few differences since our 2017 visit that made it not as fantastic as it once was - no bistro serving kid approved food in a kid friendly atmosphere. Aux chantignoles is lovely, but not the place for kids at dinner time; not enough robes in our room at the start of our stay; less seating around the fireplace; hotel looking a little rundown. However, the staff were all wonderful, friendly, and helpful. The pool was lovely and the March Break activities for kids were great. We particularly appreciated how easy it was to order gluten free food for my son with celiac disease.

Obscenely priced for what you get

k_girl883 (Russell, Canada) on Mar 29, 2024

We paid an obscene amount of money to stay in a very dated room. It was the cheapest room they had. The carpet had spots and needed to be stretched (it was buckling in several spots). There was garbage (wrappers and Kleenex) left over from previous customers in and around the night stand. The caulking in the bathroom looked like it was applied by a blind person. The upholstery on the desk chair was ripped. Its only redeeming quality is that the bed appeared to be clean and the bed is comfortable. I do want to say that the property itself is very nice, lots do it (for extra money) in a beautiful location. The bar man was very nice, although the drinks overpriced (not his doing). The check in man (Grégoire) was also very nice and explained where everything was and answered all our questions. The lobby is honestly the best part of this whole ordeal, the fireplace is out of this world and of course the log architecture is very unique. In short, I would come enjoy the property again, but I would not stay here.
