    Our room was comfortable and always clean. Beautiful and colorful view from the 40th floor facing the downtown area.Staff was always helpful. The subway station is right next door, which was convenient , as that was the primary way we traveled. The location was next to everything-restaurants, action, drug stores, horse and carriages, subways, cabs, etc. We stayed here 15 years ago, and my feelings are the same-it was just a great place to be. I realize NYC is expensive, and breakfast at this hotel is no exception. $36 a plate for the breakfast buffet and $18 for kids 12 and under. However, it is a good breakfast with a nicely thought out menu and something for everyone. The wait staff was very attentive. I really enjoyed my stay here and would do so again. I can't think of one negative thing to say about this hotel-only positive!

    I have stayed at this property pretty much every week for the last 8 years. I do have to say that since the merger with Marriott, the property has declined in terms of staffing, service, room quality, etc. My perception of this hotel since the merger with Marriott is that it fits squarely in the middle tier category and as such, doesn't get the same attention or investment from Marriott. But it's convenient to my office in NY and I know it well so that's why I'm still there and also because of the service that some of the old timers provide my colleagues and me. Several of the staff that i have gotten to know over the years provide excellent customer service: Tomas in the lounge in the evening, Mohammad in the lounge at breakfast, Harold in the gym and most of the staff at the Elite reception desk (Beth, Christian, and many others who have been there a long time). They are the bright spots at this hotel. Thank YOU.

    Excellent hotel! Excellent staff, who do everything to make you feel at home. Very charming and comfortable room. Very clean. Best hotel location. The breakfast is wonderful. The lobby is very comfortable but a bit noisy. Recommend in every sense.

    Johnny in the lounge makes all the difference. Care like that Takes a good trip from good to great! I will return when I get the chance. Also conveniently located in mid town which makes it easy to get around to where you need to be

    We were in town for the weekend and always try to stay at a Marriott or Sheraton. The hotel was beautiful, ideally located. Parking was available for a reasonable fee (less than train tix). Very professional, efficient, friendly staff. Our only complaint was the buffet breakfast . . . not enough chairs . . . frustrated,hungry people carrying plates of food looking for a place to sit down and eat. Not ideal. Idealy, a sit-down a la carte option should be available to guests. Both restaurants were offering a buffet only breakfast.
