Recently stayed here for a college reunion in the city. Tried to check in earlier that Saturday via Bonvoy app but unable to. Arrived at 4pm to a lobby full of upset people. Went to check in at desk and Was told that there were no clean rooms and wait would be at least 30 minutes. Told to have a seat and I would be called when room was ready. Offered a free snack. Waited for 90 minutes listening to others complaining about waiting over 2 hours bc guests did not check out on time. Several people demanded to be transferred to another hotel. Concerned that I would miss my reunion dinner, so I went back up to desk. The guy didn’t remember me and I probably would have sat there another hour if I didn’t get up. After talking to the manager, I was offered a room. Rooms are small but clean and relatively quiet for Manhattan. Didn’t get to check out roof bar or other amenities. Won’t stay here again.

We’ve just returned home after 5 nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. The location is perfect, right near Madison Square Garden, Macy’s, Empire State Building, Times Square.. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Only visited the rooftop bar once due to having two children with us but views were fantastic! Loved the breakfast (kids especially loved the waffle machines!) although it got very busy at times but staff kept on top on keeping the food stocked and the tables cleared. We would definitely recommend this hotel and if we ever return to New York would definitely stay here again. Thanks Fairfield Inn and Suites for a great holiday!

As this was our first trip to NYC, we had lots to learn. One particular hotel staff member seemed to be working all the time. She was so thoughtful and helpful - gave advice on how to get around, where to go, etc. The room was spacious for NYC, clean and comfortable. Location is great as well. Highly recommend this hotel.

We found this hotel really suited our needs. Firstly, rooms- clean comfy beds and the room size was perfectly adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly. Water available in lobby till 11 pm, tea and coffee also available in lobby and small machine in room. Breakfasts were ok and included fresh fruit, waffles, different breads, cereals and sausages- you could help yourself to as much as you wanted. Although the breakfast area was small for so many people, the staff were attentive and kept on top of refilling and clearing, Wasn't keen on the plactic knives and forks or paper plates but due to small prep area, I could see why. For us, it was the location that was fantastic. So handy for the underground and great to come back to in the heat of the day. Rooms weren't cleaned till mid afternoon but this didn't bother us as every day they were cleaned really well. The rooftop terrace was very small with spectular views. However, often busy and some drinks (even during the happy hour) were no cheaper than nearby eating places and closed during the day. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is situated in Mid town Manhattan so close to the Empire State Building which is a 10 minute walk, Madison Square Garden at the bottom of the road and about 20 minutes from Times Square. A 15 minute subway ride gets you to the World Trade Centre or Central Park. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. The rooms are fairly big with 2 double beds in our room, tv, tea and coffee, free safe, ironing board/iron and plenty of space for clothes. The bathroom has a shallow bath and shower. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. I think 9.30 is a bit early to finish breakfast on weekdays although it is 10am at weekends. There is cereal (careful it comes out fast) bagels/muffins/fresh waffles. Usually scrambled eggs, egg omelette, bacon and sausages, sometimes there were veggie sausages. Fruit and yoghurts and fresh juice. Tea and coffee too. There is free tea, coffee and hot chocolate(which is really nice) in the lobby. The roof top bar is nice but a little on the pricey side, worth a look for the view. I'm afraid there is early morning noise from the building site opposite the hotel, they are renovating the station and start work very early, not the hotel's fault but worth noting. All in all I would recommend the hotel as a great place to stop.
