Fun for families with kids!
Anh M (Los Angeles, California) on Mar 23, 2024
We had an overall good experience. Moon Palace is great for families with kids. There’s a game room and the Play room where my kids can get a basketball to shoot some hoops by the stage/pools. There’s food everywhere and it’s just mediocre. Buffet was just ok but we enjoyed the food at the Jerk Hut. Staff at the resort are overall friendly and courteous. But, they didn’t do anything “extra” they just did their job and that was that. The overall cleanliness could be worked on. Resort bathrooms got dirty fast and I don’t think there was anyone on standby to clean the bathrooms. Compared to Mexico, I don’t think the cleanliness is just there in Jamaica. We upgraded to the Cabana building which I’m glad we did. The main resort building elevators were always slow and there was always a crowd waiting for one of the three elevators to open. There was hardly anyone at the cabana building and we had a pretty large room with a perfect view of the beach. Anyway, my friend and I had an awesome time at the Awe Spa. Unlike the rest of the resort, the Spa was clean and the whole experience was so relaxing. We loved the spa! There’s plenty of excursions to book at the resort so don’t worry about booking anything prior before your trip. We booked two excursions and there’s shuttles that will pick you up at the hotel. We had a great time outside and will definitely be back to experience other parts of Jamaica.
Wonderful Vacation

Our stay at Moon Palace Jamaica was amazing! I booked a Junior Suite Ocean View room through a member. We had free roundtrip transportation and it was seamless. Small inconvenience upon arrival- I emailed the resort and messaged the concierge through the app requesting a king size bed with two roll away beds for our children (daughter 20 and son 13). We were a bit disappointed and annoyed to arrive and be told that the only bedding option was two doubles (and they are doubles not queens). I told them this would not work, our children are not small and need their own places to sleep. We moved the two double beds a bit and were still able to fit the two roll away beds, it was perfect! The room was gorgeous with an amazing view. Plenty of room for our luggage and the bathroom was spacious for us to get ready. The balcony was a good size and had two chairs and a table. The beds including the roll aways were comfortable and so were the pillows. Housekeeping did a great job cleaning our room (don’t forget to tip these wonderful ladies) and the nightly turndown service was always happy to give us extra bath towels and chocolates. Beach and Pools- The beach was wonderful. Clean and the waves were not big. Staff were down there taking drink orders as well. No issues finding chairs at either the beach and we arrived usually around 9:30 am. Pools were fun. Loved the swim up bars. No issues finding chairs even later in the day. Food- Breakfast, the buffet was good and had a nice variety of food and was quick. We went to Pier 8 twice. The fruit was amazing. I would recommend the banana pancakes! Lunch pizza at the Sundeck was good. It goes quickly! Snack bar was okay. Husband enjoyed the jerk hut. Churros! The best. Find Omar and wait in line for his delicious churros (and give him a few dollars). Drinks were plentiful and delicious. If you want a drink made with more alcohol just ask and they will make it as strong as you would like (again a few dollars goes a long way). Tip- bring a yeti type cup. For dinner we went to Momo, Gondola, and Pier 8. Momo, we had a regular table. It was in the corner and it was super dark. Food was okay. They were out of many items (chicken rangoons and gyoza). When my son went to order off the kids menu in the app the waitress said there was no kids menu, very odd. Pier 8 was delicious and my husband and I’s favorite. I had the filet and he had the short rib. There was also live music which was great. Gondola was also good. I got my son to try calamari and he liked it. When we asked where the kids wanted to go for the last night they chose Gondola so we ended up there twice. Excursions- We had $2000 in resort credits. We went and swam with the dolphins. It was a few minutes down the road. I have to say I did not love this. The dolphins are in small enclosures and they say they rescued some, but also breed dolphins. If we did not have resort credits I would not have done this. The sunset cruise was great. We have done sunset cruises on all of our vacations and we had a great time. We also went to Konoko Falls. Konoko falls was fun and I would go again. So I would say if you have resort credit Sunset Cruise and Konoko Falls would be your best choices. At our own expense we went to the Blue Hole, River Rafting, and Zip Lining. I booked it at the resort through the vacation planners. It was run by Chukka. We all had a great day. As a family we agree we would 100% come back to Moon Palace Jamaica.
Moon Palace, Ocho Rios, Truly Amazing. One Of A Kind, Beyond & Above The Rest.

The Moon Palace in Ocho Rios is always for me , a "Super Cool Paradise" of total relaxation, where I can rendezvous with my family, from a different State in the USA. We were so blessed, to have been entertained by so many persons, from Ingrid the front desk Manager, to the room service attendants. As always, great service, super perfect ambience, good food, and for me personally on my 15th vacation there, what more could I honestly asked for, as it continues to be my "Home Away From Home".

Amazing!! Absolutely love this place. The service was top notch. All employees went above and beyond to please us. I will definitely be returning. I would recommend this place to everyone I know. A bit pricey but worth it.
First family trip to Moon Palace Ocho Rios Jamaica

This was a fantastic trip. The staff at this place are incredible. They are very engaging and patient with children. I haven’t been to any resort - even Disney - that is so accommodating of children and families. Special shout out to sales woman Aniya, Santhony at the Boulangerie, Chef Andrew at Momo, Kevin at Pier 8, Melonie and Dennis at the Sundeck, Ferrell and Tameika on the event staff, Setirah and Melicio at the Playroom and the fantastic bar staff throughout the property! Even the day porters had personality and care for the guests! Can’t recommend this place highly enough. The Irie Vibes permeated everything!
