Great Stay. One of the best resorts and experiences I have encountered. One horrible issue, golf course, that is mentioned at the end. It will be noted twice, the problem I encountered was a result of the corporation’s failure to deliver on something and is no way the responsibility of the Plantation or it’s agents. Airport transfer: When you arrive they have a beautiful and comfortable room with refreshments and couches. Our flight was delayed about an hour however it did not affect the resorts prompt transportation to the resort. They use a hired shuttle service and the van was clean, comfortable, and professional. Upon arrival at the resort you will love the French designs. Unique and tasteful furnishings are plentiful in the common areas. Not a bad seat in the “house” for reading, conversing, having tea/drinks, and relaxing away from the beach or pool areas. Cleanliness: The overall cleanliness is something I tend to be critical of. From the grassy shrub lined areas outside to the corners in the tea room you see clean. The staff work diligently to maintain a nearly flawless condition. Pool/hot tub: A large warmed pool can be enjoyed on a overlook for an ocean view and it separates two beach areas. A hot top that is two levels ensure there is never a lack of room from multiple users. Beaches: The west beach has chairs that are plentiful and there really is no bad seating positon to be found. This is a quiet portion of the beach for relaxing and reading. The east beach is the designated smoking beach and it also has the water equipment and the dock for diving. Multiple times a day staff are raking and keep the sand beautiful and free of debris. Room: We had a Royal Monarch Oceanfront Butler Suite – LR. The room was large and clean. The furniture was hardwood and had character. Comfortable bed. Unique to this design is a sitting area with wet bar and dining room table. The wonderful ocean view is through large sliding doors that can be opened to make the entire sitting area a balcony of sorts. When you wish to enjoy the balcony feeling you can do so without losing any inside square footage and I think that’s outstanding. The bathroom has a large walk in shower and Jacuzzi tub. TIP: If you are facing the resort from the gift shot/front entrance we had a room to the far left. On Friday and Saturday we learned that an adjacent property had a night club or some type of bar. Loud music could be heard in our room until very late both of those nights. This is no fault of the resort just back luck. Noise cancelling headphones or range plugs will remedy this. Butlers: This was a new thing for me. I did not foresee using any services or really needing assistance with anything. One of our Butlers was Gladstone. I quickly found that he would reserve our dinner table for our preferred location, schedule my tee times, and schedule out diving trips. He eventually noticed certain perks or amenities we enjoyed and after the first day he would have chilled sparkling wine and a meat/cheese tray in our room for after diving or golf and that was excellent. Food: The food was superb. NO reason to dwell on this issue, the food was in the top 3 for quality I have experienced for a resort. Hospitality: There is no request or want that the staff will not strive to fulfill. Easily the best ever hospitality and enjoyable staff interactions I have experienced. 5 star hotels in the states could learn a wealth of lessons from the operations at the Plantation. The golf issue (I will explain below) left me upset one day with the country club, not the resort. Gladstone, Butler, could tell I was pissed off and shortly later I received a call from the General Manager (I forget his name, but a delightful individual) who took it upon himself to resolve my experience. He did not have to, he should not have invested his time or energy, yet he took it upon himself and that will always stay with me in mind. The attempt was admirable but in the end he could not change Sandal’s policy at the course completely. He still made my second golf round enjoyable and for that I was grateful. Golf: This was a very upsetting experience for me. I may be looking at this wrong or selfishly but golfers need to be aware. I chose the Sandals experience largely in part for the unlimited included golf and diving. We enjoy these two activities but are limited due to cost. Boy, I was excited. Included golf? All I could golf? I was disheartened and truly angry when at my first tee time check in I was asked to pay $60. I was told the green fees were included but the cart costs $40 and there was a $20 caddie fee. I quickly relayed that I did not require nor want a caddie but was told it was mandatory. Also $40 for a cart is extremely high even at upscale clubs but I would have happily paid it if that was the only fee. So for the next couple of hours I endured a stranger watching me play golf and it was the opposite of the relaxation I went in search for. I enjoy golfing alone for solitude and maximum relaxation. My career revolves around social interaction. I wanted isolation. The caddie was a nice fellow and I tipped the caddie because it was not his fault I was forced to waste his time. For one round of golf I spent $100. Madness. When I politely explained to the shop that I was upset and felt Sandals had duped me and taken a used car sales approach to the advertisement, the woman had the audacity to suggest I not tip the caddie to minimize my cost. Wow. While to her this may be logical, to me she quickly threw the hardest working guy I encountered to the wolves. Classey. In the end I would have been okay and there would be no issue if a $40 cart fee was all but to force a caddie on someone who wants nothing to do with it? Bad business practices Sandals. The golf club operates independently of the plantation resort and is in no way responsibly or a party to my bad experience. Icing on the cake: When you want a water or beer from the pavilion bar you have to pay. This made me laugh and think the person who makes these decisions has lost his mind. “Hurrr durrr I know this guest already paid $5000 for all inclusive but let’s charge the chumps for bottled water and beer to get every dime out of their pockets” It left a feeling of greed and intentional nickel and dime practices. It would be easy and ethical to change this practice immediately. Like I said above, sleazy used car sales practices. I am almost so impressed that I would decide to vacation with no other company. But to me, the sheer disrespect of how the golf is advertised then the cost is rammed down my throat makes me bitter and ready to try somewhere else. I may be petty or unreasonable, but this is how I feel. 50/50 on using sandals again. The golf course does a great injustice to how the staff work hard and excel at their jobs. If I do use Sandals again it will be wholly because the Plantation is PERFECT.

Stayed December 21 to January 1 Our 3rd stay here. Even after our 3rd visit; I am always amazed by the level of service everyone provides here. Monique, my gal pal at lunch. Simone, so lovely. Everyone at the photo shop... AMAZING! Junior, the BEST bartender! Speaking of bars, Daniello, Romaine and of course Adrian (Biggs) kept us with drinks our entire stay. So many laughs. New entertainment duo... (forgive me. I'm 50 now and names sometimes escape me)... great job! Still can't get over your bravery wearing white shoes while tye dying! Such fun! Thanks for doing an 80s night for my husband and I at the peacock! You should really make that a night. EVERYONE would join in. (Trust me) Our butlers. Goodness, what to say about them? AMAZING as always! Audell and Chadworth. I simply cannot imagine the plantation without them. They are the reason we keep coming back. We retied the knot for our 20th. Kelly Ann and team were awesome. Carrot cake with Bailey's icing... so yummy! They made the day so much fun! The sports guys. You men MAKE the beach! From raking to teaching; you help make the trip memorable. Dacia, always a pleasure to rebook with. If you are seeking a romantic vacation with great views and unsurpassed pampering... this is your place. Can't wait to go back in Nov!

Spur of the moment trip with friends led us to this resort and I am so glad. Such an amazing way to spend Christmas & New Years. The room had a beautiful view and were very comfortable, but the service was what made us so happy. From the moment we stopped off the shuttle, we were treated like family. The only drawback was the resort next door was closed, so food choices were a little limited..but what they did serve was fantastic. Special thanks to some of the staff...there were so many, but many of the names have escaped me right now: Gladstone was amazing!!! Simone was beautiful inside & out. Bigs...he kept us laughing and well hydrated. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel special....until we meet again, One Love

Ten days in Jamaica for Christmas vacation this past December. Seventh trip to the plantation and it was very different with COVID. They are taking lots of precautions to keep us and their staff safe and we appreciate that. The crowd was so different to years past. Lots of young couples and hopefully return guests. You must have reservations to the three restaurants so plan your time during your trip. Special mention to several folks and sorry if I misspell your name. First Marvin needs to be promoted to hotel manager as that seems to be his untitled role. He takes care of you with any need you have! Jerome head of butlers is the best. We were disappointed we could not get Gladstone as requested but was good to see him. Our butlers Marvin and Oren took good care of us. Beach butlers were fabulous as usual, Donnella, Ramone and Adrian. Did not miss one drink any hour of the day. Special thanks to Andrea, Georgia, Shonelle, Hadlin, Estina, Travari, Robert, Barbara, Hushane, Doco, Carl, and our favorite Simone! The best entertainment guy and tie dyer on the property Rushan. Special thanks to Junior for the Manhattans for my husband. He sings your praises on making drinks. Enjoyed meeting new friends while there and seeing friends that still work there. We hope to see you all soon another year. Hope for this year is stay safe and well and continue with your great hospitality. Blessings to all, the Sirmons!
