I had such high expectations for this property given it was recommended by a close family member who has been coming here for years. Unfortunately it didn't even come close to living up to the hype. I suppose we shall start with the good, the very little that there was: - Hotel exterior is well maintained and beautiful! - The bed and sheets were incredibly comfortable. - Close proximity to the Magic Kingdom (walking trail is a bonus!) - Buses to Disney Springs and other Disney attractions Now sadly the bad... - Upon arrival, we were not greeted nor helped with our luggage. - Check in took a half hour at least. The items we saved on "app" didn't even matter. Our magic bands were not ready and had to be re-connected to the cards we had already added to the account. - There is a complete lack of signage across the entire property. Good luck finding ANYTHING. - The room has no door on the vanity area of the bathroom, so if traveling with a friend and not a spouse leaves you in the complete open. - The shower for lack of a better term was like a fire hydrant. - There is zero ventilation in the bathroom or vanity area - PLASTIC cups in the rooms, enjoy drinking your $30 bottle of rose (that's not even great) in a solo cup. - Buses ONLY go to parks, no other Disney properties (except Disney Springs) - Room service is practically non-existent unless you'd like breakfast from 6-11am or dinner from 5-10pm. (TIP: order directly from the café if you want the Mickey waffles, the cost is about 1/2 of what room service charges for the same thing) - ZERO healthy meal options - The "health club" portion is a joke. I've traveled the world and have seen better gyms in the cheapest of hotels in the tiniest of mountain towns. In addition, you're literally stuck on a compound. Nothing is walkable other than the Magic Kingdom. I'd suggest stopping for bottled water and snacks on the way in because you won't find anything on property. Overall, we're incredibly underwhelmed in many of ways. If I were staying during a "normal" time and had to pay what the "normal" rates were, I would have hands down left upon night 1. If we were staying for longer than 3 nights, I also would have left.

    Nice but underwhelming.

Our family stayed at the Disney's Grand Floridian in the Big Pine Key building on December 2020. While the Main Building is beautiful, the Big Pine Key building was just average. The lobby with its ceramic tile floor and furnishing gave me a feeling that I was in a Timeshare. The elevators had loose foot panels, worn out handrails, not what I expected to see at the Grand Floridian. I've stayed at the Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Disney's Wilderness Lodge and both had far more luxuries, amenities, nicer rooms and better maintained. Parking was a pain! Half of the front lot was reserved for the valet but there was no Valet parking available thus the reserved valet spaces was empty. The other half of the front lot was self-parking. This get's full about 7-8 PM and it's then blocked off. Even though cars leave and spaces are clearly visible, no entry is allowed. We had to park at Villas lot which is as far as you can walk without leaving the grounds. This is during COVID reduced capacity, I can't imagine how parking would be like at full capacity. The mobile check-in app did not work. The mobile app for ordering food worked sporadicly. During my stay, I kept saying, I can't believe how great the Grand Floridian looks from afar, and up close it's just average.

It was wonderful. The staff was great. We order in for dinner. The staff sent up balloons and a cupcake for my 6 year old granddaughters birthday. The bell hop who took our luggage out, his name gave awesome information on history of the first hotels there and the opening of Epcot. His name was Witt. Our views were of the castle and space mountain.

Had a great dinner at The Grand Floridian. Getting on monorail a Very aggressive, old woman monitor, was yelling at people in front of us. I emptied my pocket book after hearing her demands of them. She said i put too much out into bin.She was definitely on a power trip. 7/27/20 at 7:30 pm!!!! Not the typical polite Disney employee.

While visiting the property, I encountered Leah and suspect she is part of the front desk team. This cast member represents everything Disney is striving for. She was personable, approachable, knowledgeable, polite, well spoken and well groomed. We had a lovely conversation ranging through many Disney topics. I believe she is new to this location and has spent quite a bit of time at Hollywood Studios over the years. Keep up the good work Leah!
