    Disappointing Experience!

Very disappointed! Upon check-in, we had to reiterate to the front desk staff that we had reserved a pool view room, as they initially had us in a parking lot view room. I suppose they were waiting to see if we knew the difference. Walked into the elevator and the doors could hardly close due to the amount of dirt and grime in the elevator tracks, disgusting. Entered into the room/balcony and there were tape and stringers on the balcony walls and ceilings. Obviously, housekeeping does not clean the balconies. Requested that the party favors be removed from the balcony as we left to explore, returned 3 hours later to find the party favors still hanging from the ceiling. On our way down to the pool, requested again to have the party ribbons and tape removed. Returned to room, the party favors were still present! Called the desk and once again requested for the 3rd time for a staff member to remove the tape and ribbons hanging from the ceiling and FINALLY someone showed up. I turned the TV on to discover the TV stations are in analog! Yes, the limited 45 channels were in analog, not HD! I had to go to the bar to watch the NBA finals in HD! The next morning, I awoke to the sound of the landscape blower at 8:00 AM! I decided to eat lunch at the pool cafe and requested a menu from the bartender like I did the previous day. She replied that her Manager took all of the menus away that day due to a group staying there. So I was on vacation and being inconvenienced due to a group staying at a convention hotel!? She directed me to the lobby bar and grill if I wanted to order lunch. So we left in our wet swimsuits to the indoor bar and grill and ordered a Chopped Cobb Salad with Italien dressing. We received a Chicken Caesar Salad with Caeser dressing. When we questioned the server, he replied that that was their version of a Cobb Salad. We returned the order and left to go eat downtown. We then decided to check out early and stay elsewhere. The $30 self-parking in an empty parking lot was the final insult to a terrible experience.

Stayed here for 5 days for a nursing conference and am so so sad to leave! EVERYONE exceeded my expectations, from the person that picked us up in the shuttle, to the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the always smiling towel boy by the pool, to the bartenders with cute accents... all had exceptional customer service! Very brave for catering to all of us 1,270 nurses! :) Once you enter the hotel, you automatically feel relaxed due to the ambiance, cleanliness, and spa-like aroma that fills the lobby! My room was exceptionally clean (except there was used shorts and briefs on the chair, but I called and they picked it up right away!) and I had asked them to check temperature in my refrigerator because it was a little warm, but was fixed right away. The location is GREAT as well, walking distance to their little quaint downtown. Everyone had a genuine smile on their faces and made you feel welcome. I would totally come back with my family!

This hotel was a great night stay however I only wished had more time to enjoy everything that it offered. They have a awesome fitness center! The whole pool area vibe was really nice with fire going in several seating areas. When I say fire I mean those ones that run on propane but it’s still pretty and nice to sit outside there and enjoy a cocktail. Our room was clean and quiet. The bed comfy too!

Very solid, customer service shines (also great spa)

Went for a getaway weekend in May with a girlfriend to unwind. We stayed three nights. The rooms are regular sized and include a fridge and a little vanity type mirror and ledge in the bathroom (which is great for two women getting ready). Marriott's are generally very solid hotels in my opinion but there are obviously different levels. There were some small things missing (no fan in the bathroom, no cotton balls or q-tips or glasses in the room). Our room had a pool-view balcony (but you also get a very pretty mountain view on that side). If you are looking for a quiet room request one on the mountain view side because the pool can get noisy. This property is connected to the convention center so it can be very busy with conferences, etc. It is very close to the downtown area -- maybe a 10 minute. We typically would Uber down to the bars and restaurants then walk our food off on the way back. There is also a shuttle and very helpful valet staff who can give you recommendations. The pool is quite big and has a bar and food and wait staff. There are a few cabanas and day beds for rent but if you grab a spot early enough we didn't find the need to reserve those spaces. They offer pool noodles and other fun floating things and there is a hot tub. The pool area closing strictly at 10 p.m. and security will come shoo you out. We had breakfast one morning at the patio restaurant and our order took a very long time and then was incorrect. The manager (a young, black gentleman --sorry i don't remember your name) came over and corrected things immediately. We just asked for him to take the bad items off of our bill but he ended up comping the entire meal along with apologies. He went above and beyond to make us feel that we had a great experience at the hotel because when we were at the pool later he came over to see how we were doing and comp us a round of drinks. (And not only that we later found out he had covered our entire tab). The shuttle driver one evening (I want to say Dave?) was extremely helpful and friendly and offered to take just to the two of us downtown when our Uber was lost. Our housekeeper remembered our room number and when she would see us heading to the pool would ask if we were ready for our room to be refreshed. Oh and the spa! So apparently the spa is not run by Marriott but is on the property by the pool. It had very bad reviews online and we were hesitant to go, but decided to take the plunge and book deep tissue massages. So the decor, set up and ambiance are more like a strip mall massage parlor than a high end spa (the bubbles they offered was Cooks and the showers were clearly very old). BUT the staff was very nice and Anna Maria gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. The rooms are clean, they use essentials oils and professional massage techniques. The room walls are very thin though, so i could hear my friend next door talking to her massage therapist when they were getting started, but once Anna Maria started kneading the kinks out of my back I couldn't hear a thing. They def lose a star for charging luxury spa rates without the amenities, but you will get a good service. I would absolutely stay here again. I'd love to see a few upgrades to the rooms and spa but the over the top service trumps that any day in my book. P.S. the beds were super comfy and the linens were great

We always stay here when we pass through palm desert. Great hotel and location. Staff is very helpful and nice. Rooms have patios and are very roomy. Some over look golf course. Managers night is always nice — good food and drinks.
