Reno done wrong

pollardha (Boone, Iowa) on Apr 20, 2024

The Hyatt Gainey Ranch has been our happy place for a decade. No more. They are undergoing a massive renovation focused on sucking the soul out of a beautiful resort. Where we used to discover chill luxury we now encounter superficial stupidity. The pool has day passes where anyone can come use the facilities we PAID FOR. Needless to say, it attracts the WORST. I seriously felt like we were at a municipal pool. Kids everywhere. I literally cried our first day here. We have two more days and I can’t wait to leave. The reno (which was not disclosed to us when we booked and recourse has been provided to us) is relinquishing beautiful character in its decor for 2010s circa Joanna Gaines style awfulness. I hate it. Our room is 60% the size of any room we have ever stayed in here and had long, dark hair in the bathroom and a used Q-tip! I have blonde hair…. The plumbing was installed backwards and the front desk staff were awful. I’m so sad. Stay away. We definitely will.

Avoid until 2025!

Quest36430168007 (Sedona, Arizona) on Apr 18, 2024

AVOID AVOID AVOID this hotel until AFTER October 2024 unless you like your desert vacation filled with construction banging, major dust, and walking through construction zones on the way to your room. The noise starts at 8 and goes ALL day. The pools were also very cloudy. Not sure what that is about. If you booked through a 3rd party you wouldn’t have received any warning about this. The noise, sawing and banging is EVERYWHERE. The staff is doing the best they can, but Hyatt you have put your employees in a no win situation. People are complaining, checking out early or not checking in at all. I saw numerous people turn around and leave the hotel. Shame on you Hyatt for charging a normal room rate for this. Kudos for the staff and hotel managers for trying to do right by their guests. They are clearly exhausted dealing with pissed off guests and I don’t blame them!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE… Housekeeping enters room even with privacy sign and they check your room out to a new family.

Nicole N on Apr 14, 2024

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE…. Checked into a Hyatt resort requesting late check-out on my reservation online. When I checked-in I was given a 1:00 check-out like I requested on my booking but was told if I wanted an even later time, to check on the same day as check-out. The day of check-out I went to the front desk to see if they can extend it to 2:00 or even 1:30 due to my daughters soccer game. We were told that 1:00 was the latest we could check-out. We arrived at about 12:30 to wrap up and have her shower quickly. Room keys were disabled. I went to the front desk. My room was no longer under my name. Front desk asked for proof of ID and proof of confirmation when she saw that my name was no where to be found. Armida went to speak with the front desk manager Aurelia and they went to the back. Reappearing about 20 mins later. My family waited in front of the room while I was dealing with the issue at the front desk with front manager Aurelia and Armida. Aurelia refused a proper resolution and refused to give me entrance to the room which it was my room till 1. It took over 30 mins while they made me wait for housekeeping manager Josh to figure out what happened. I was told that house keeping saw us leave with luggage (which we never even saw housekeeping on our aisle)so they went into the room even though the privacy sign was up and we had the room till 1. Then the front desk also disregarded that we confirmed we had a 1:00 request for check-out 3 hours prior and checked-in another occupant into our room prior to 12:30 when we arrived. So by the time we left to go to a soccer game and come back 3 hours later they had already cleaned and checked in another occupant. I was told they had a right to enter our room even though we had the room till 1:00 because housekeeping assumed we checked out and didn’t actually check the system. The front desk admitted they should not have checked another guest in but also didn’t look that we had the room till 1:00 and it was confirmed just a few hours prior. They refused to let us back in our room to collect any remaining items and again stated that housekeeping didn’t see anything. I am just shocked at the invasion of privacy, breech of contract and negligence by Hyatt Hotels Resort and Spa employees. It’s so sad that a large hotel chain finds this acceptable. Rather than resolving the issue they had the nerve to tell me to calm down. Im speechless and so disappointed in the employees. Hyatt should be aware of how their employees are providing service. There is no respect for others privacy. I have opened a case with Hyatt. In addition I have reported the incident. We will take further action if Hyatt feels that this behavior is acceptable. Meanwhile be aware that the hotel is under construction and it’s not noted when booking the reservation that’s it’s happening inside the hotel next to possibly your room. We had to walk in multiple directions to get to our room due to limited access because of the construction and the room was not even remodeled.

Designed To Please Each Guest.

Room-in-my-suitcase (Ottawa, Canada) on Apr 12, 2024

Set amidst flowering cactus and framed against the majestic McDowell Mountains sits the Hyatt Regency Scottdale Resort & Spa. I prized my Courtyard View King with sophisticated Southwestern decor and view of the breathtaking resort gardens. I was a home-like experience with a bathroom equipped with a tub & shower and featured designer toiletries. The accommodations were solid but it was the centerpiece of the resort that caught my attention; namely, the elaborate water playground, a 2.5 acre waterworks with 10 pools and man made beach that offers relaxation for guests of all ages. Additional amenities include a 27 hole championship golf course, world class tennis and pickle ball courts, miles of jogging and hiking trails, inviting Spa, meeting & event space and desert botanical gardens, I was able to relax in the full service Avania Spa where you can enjoy massages, body treatments and facials. I indulged in my usual Sports Massage to relax the wrinkles in my body after a bout of tennis. The resort has a broad array of eating and drinking options. The SWB, a southwest bistro, crafts creative cuisine in wood fired ovens, H2Oasis is a poolside facility offering specialty drinks and island inspired fare, Cantina Due fires up handcrafted cocktails while Canyon Market is open 24 hours a day in a grab-and-go format for coffee, pastries, sandwiches, wraps and the usual food suspects for a place like this. I enjoyed my cup of engineered Starbucks coffee in the morning here. So, if you are looking for a fun spot for the entire family........then try the.................... ............Hyatt Regency Scottsdale..........designed to please each guest.

Long overdue review of a WONDERFUL experience.

JamieHumber (Madison, Wisconsin) on Apr 10, 2024

Dear Hyatt Team, This is a long overdue review! My wife and I visited your property in Arizona in January from Madison Wisconsin. We had an incredible time, and I wanted to express my gratitude to the amazing team who made our stay unforgettable. I apologize if I have forgotten some names, but I did my best to make a note of each incredible person we came across. April, Front Desk: Incredible does not even begin to describe how awesome she is. Being welcoming and able to connect with people is the hardest part of working in hospitality, but it all comes so naturally to her. April had so many wonderful recommendations from farmers markets to cool nightlife offerings. She has a true gift for hospitality, and you are lucky to have her on your team. Nick, Fellow Operations Manager: I have met many leaders in my life, some good, some not so good. The second I met Nick and heard the way he talked about his team, I knew he was a truly great leader. He never once mentioned his contributions or how talented he is. Every word out of his mouth was a compliment to something or someone on the team. He is making a positive impact on that team. Andrea & Tess, Spa: When looking to relax, there is nothing more enjoyable than a spa. You couple that with incredible service and hospitality, and you have a winning combination. These two great ladies were both so wonderful! They were sensational, From spa services to greeting us at the desk. I apologize for forgetting names, but the gentlemen working behind the bar were amazing too! They are a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas, places to eat, have a drink, or take in the culture of Arizona. Thank you for making our stay so memorable! Best regards, Jameson Hyatt Place Madison
