Beautiful resort, good holiday experience - not quite excellente!

A great holiday with so many positives and room for some minor improvements. Spotlessly clean at all times - everywhere! Great restaurant choices and no booking. All the staff are polite and provide decent service - we particularly liked Felix, Carlos and Julio. Special mention to Saidy as front of house who remembered us each day! Coco cafe was fantastic for breakfast coffee and afternoon cakes. The pool swim up bar was a bit too rammed for us and the sunbeds were packed round the pool (although no struggle to get one.) Loved the beach - minimal seaweed and the best sand that didn’t get hot to walk on in 30 degree heat. The sea bed is flat for quite a way out. Sunbeds well spaced but could have been more comfortable if they had cushions. Drinks service very hit and miss depending where you sat (some people were great and others went to those that tipped) but the bar was in easy reach. Special mention for Abraham whose service was excellent on the beach and always happy and cheerful. Ramon, our butler, quickly sorted out an early issue with our room and came to check every single day that we were having a great time. Really good entertainment with live music in the afternoons round the pool, lobby music and shows in the evening . The entertainment team worked tirelessly to get people to join in with water polo, volleyball, archery, aqua aerobics etc. The attempt by the reception team upsell (at a cost of 4000 USD for a 10niggt stat ) on day 1 was irritating as was trying to get us to go to a meeting to book excursions. We had a sea view room and could sit on the balcony really comfortably without being fried! Could have done with a little table to sit at to enjoy room service but the outdoor sofa bench was comfortable to relax on. Disnt use or see the point of a bath on thr balcony (it wasn’t a hot tub!)

We had a wonderful 10 days here, and the rave reviews are true. It’s a great place. It’s a wonderful location and the beach is amazing - powdery soft sand that doesn’t burn your feet, gentle slope in to the water, and then relatively shallow for ages. They have roped off a massive area to control the seaweed, you still get some, but not much at all. The resort itself is beautiful, spotlessly clean, grounds and public areas well tended. The pool area felt a little crowded for us, but we prefer the beach anyway, and we never struggled to get a sunbed there, even at 10am. The food is great, a really good selection at breakfast, and we loved the seaside grill for lunch. This ended up being our favourite for dinner too, but being there 10 nights we tried it all. The Italian and Asian were probably our least enjoyed - nothing wrong with them, but we felt just not as good as the others from a menu choice perspective. All the food was great. All in all then, exactly what you’d expect from any 5 star resort. The icing on the cake here are the staff. We were so well looked after by everyone. Our main man, concierge Ramon, popped up like the shopkeeper in 1970’s cartoon series Mr Ben - making sure we had all we wanted, changing room for us when we had a small issue, keeping us informed of all the activities etc. We felt genuinely cared for. On the beach, Abraham did a cracking job, keeping us hydrated. And in various restaurants we found Felix Carlos and Julio to be super helpful and friendly. Saidy on the front desk at restaurants was great too, always recognising us and saying a special hello. Manuel and all the team at Coco Cafe were fab too - as were the coffee and cakes. Brilliant staff, great food, clean environment and a wonderful location. Loved it. Thank you Secrets Cap Cana!!

The experience was great, Alexander was on top of everything, he scheduled dinners at the best timing, recommend local places to visit, schedule picks ups and drop off to stores transportation to airport. He keep checking inn daily, to see if we needed anything threw the entire stay. He made the trip a great experience overall. They had all kinds of fun activities.We did Zumba on the beach with Lady Gaga, she had a great play list while working out. The coconut toss contest, and we Won a Secret Hat, also with lady Gaga and Queen, the Archery my first time. Bike ride with Elisaul around the resort. All the food was delicious perfect portions, drinks were great Julio suggested all the good ones. The coconut water was delicious help stay hydrated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. This is a first class resort. The food choices were excellent and the beach, pools and other facilities were outstanding. All the staff were helpful and cheerful but four deserve special mention:- Our concierges, Johan Jeison and Angelo Mercedes were very attentive and solved all our queries and requests. The beach medic Queibel Mendez dressed a hand wound twice daily for four days and was always cheerful and attentive. Our maid, Maigualida, did an expceptional job.

Beautiful resort. Great pools and a very spacious beach. Service was friendly and quick at every pool, restaurant and bar. Our butler Carlos took care of every request for us - food, activities and excursions. The rooms were beautiful and had incredible views. What a wonderful week we had!!
