Grand Riviera Princess Mexico booked through TUI between 2nd to 15th April. We decided on the layover flights from Heathrow to Cancun stopping in Houston. The two hour layover is sufficent, but not any time for anything but swapping planes. Border control is a nightmare as its such a long wait. 90 minutes on the way back. Thankfully as its the same airline bags are taken all the way so no need to collect bags in Huston. Bit stressful after a 10hr flight but it was ok. On the way back I decided to pay the tourist tax at the airport but no-one ever asked for it. Arrived at the hotel and checkin was easy enough. Needed to pay 400 peso enviroment tax per room. The only other time I needed the reception was to request two double beds instead of a sofa and king sized bed. They said it would be done about 3 times then I simply gave up. Which made my 17 Yr old daughters stay less comfortable. Rooms are clean and tidy and mini fridge is stocked daily. The grounds of the complex are kept immaculate with lots of Caoti's, deer and cats. There are monkeys as well but we only saw one once so they are clearly shy. Pools are loverly with some quiet pools and some more lively. There are a few shops on site but they are extremely expensive about $12usd for a small packet of sweets. Be mindful no returns. There are also ATMs in both Paso and USD but they charge about 10usd fee. The beach is also loverly and you can stand up to about 10 /15 meters out to sea. I took my Snorkeling kit but nothing to see as its so shallow. There are also kayaks to use and other activities such as parasailing at a cost of £80ish, jetskis etc. Food is OK. Breakfast is in the snack bars and they have takeaway coffee. Luch is also here and was sufficent. Only occassionly was i asked if i wanted a drink but there is a bar in the resturant. There are also taco stands, burger bars and all the food I've had was nice. Unfortunately Evening meals in the buffet is really not very nice. Thankfully i only ate here on the first 2 days! really disappointed. You can book speciality restaurants but need two clear days and they go fast so book it between 12am and 7am to ensure you get a booking. Steak House in the snack bar wasn't very good and all the steak is quiet fatty. But you won't go hungry. Drinks are fine, no draft beer just 300ml cans of corona and Medelo. i can understand no glasses near a beach / pool but I expect something other than a can in a lobby bar. I guess people walk around the complex alot. You can specificlly ask for a glass here and the sports bar. Cocktails and shots are well catered for. Overall I really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel as an option in the local area.

Great hotel experience. The Sushi dinner was our favorite. Top notch service from Alberto, Francisco, and rodozfo . You do not have to tip at this resort but if you do, you will get better service. The gym is good. There are lots classes and entertaining activities. Will come again.

Wish that there were more activities, and wish they were more clear about where activities were being held, but over all amazing. I did the buffet for every meal and it was very good with a lot of options. Highly recommend and didn’t disappoint

Awesome service from check in once we arrived we’re welcomed with a drink checked in and luggage’s were held till room was ready, while waiting we walked around the resort, grabbed a bite at the buffets. Pool and bar attendants were awesome and upbeat especially TonyFlow from entertainment welcomed us as family definitely will be back with more time to enjoy everything the resort has to offer

We had a great experience at the Grand Riviera Princess. The grounds and beach are beautiful, there are lots of animals, and the staff are fantastic and work hard to keep everything clean and well maintained. The buffets had many options to choose from, and the a la carte restaurants were all very good. We booked a family club swim up room which was close to the pirate buffet and ice cream shop. The kids pool and structured club activities are geared towards kids who are a bit younger, as our 9 and 13 year old did not use the kids pool area and were not interested in the structured kids activities for the most part, but as a family we enjoyed the pool table, fooseball, and air hockey on the teen side which all family members can access from 1-3pm. My kids also used the ice cream shop frequently, and while the pirate buffet wasn’t as good as the bigger ones, it was close and we could pop in for breakfast or a quick snack easily which was a plus for us. We would 100% recommend and re-book a family club swim up room, it was perfect as it is a bit separated from the main pools and we enjoy a quieter resort experience so it was ideal….we had the swim up pool to ourselves most days and the kids could go in and out whenever they wanted while the adults relaxed on the back deck without having to trek to the main pools. Always a lounge chair available there too, no need to get up early and claim one (which is what we were seeing at the main pools). We didn't even go to the main pools, as the pool at our room was so convenient! Totally depends what type of experience you are looking for. There is something for everyone at the resort with all the different room categories, features, and options. We were a bit nervous from reading some of the reviews prior to going, but now that we have experienced it, we would absolutely recommend it and return to this resort.
