This place is paradise from start to end ( 14nights) we were waited on all the time and nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff a special mention to GIO and NISA the beach babes who look after you from early morning to late afternoon The waiting staff in all restaurants are also helpful and polite too a special mention to Ranford Gilford Denton and Glynn also Tasha the pool bar staff xx we don’t normally say we would return to a place but this is on our list for the future I would have given this 5 stars but as in previous reviews I think it’s in need of some updating in certain areas I would also like to mention that the locals are no trouble at all on the beach and at times are very entertaining and if you feel like walking past the cemetery to the very end of the beach you can get a cold beer ( strongbow cider ) in one the bars there and sit with the locals

    Great beach location.

The hotel is located on a lovely beach with two nice pool areas , one also has small hidden areas where there are double sunbeds in the tropical bush surrounded by water. The rooms and restaurants are standard , very comfortable beds, very clean 3/4 quality you would expect in the Caribbean. Sounds a cliché however the staff are mostly excellent , (reception staff were professional and corporate). Tasha and Denzil at the beach bars deserve a mention as they were both genuinely great personalities and made our days bright, (management please note , you have employees that have great potential for development ). The hotel has great overall atmosphere and is very enjoyable in all ways. The food and drink were very good, the hotel does a good job trying to provide a varied selection with different themes, (to the complainers of the menus , its not a Michellin star restaurant ). The only thing that I didn't like was the dreaded sun bed issue ,although in fairness there was enough sunbeds, from about 7:00am guests were claiming their sunbeds with towels. I have to admit, I joined in and did the same thing as it was dog eat dog scramble. I really dislike this practice and although I know it is difficult the hotel management should monitor this practice. Rendezvous is a nice hotel in a lovely location , great staff with good food and drink. The three restaurants and two bars are very good , although the French restaurant is a little dated.

We just returned from a seven-night stay at Rendezvous. Overall, we are very pleased with our vacation. The high points would be the staff, the grounds, and the meals. The staff members were exceptional, almost every one of them. Very gracious, friendly, and welcoming. The resort grounds were also very nice and very well maintained. The food was actually pretty good. A nice variety for most meals and well prepared. We personally didn't think dinner at Trysting Place was that much different than dinner at the Terrace. Not that Trysting was bad but rather that dinner at the Terrace was almost as nice. The same could be said for Malabar. More hype than substance for both places was our opinion. The resort had a good variety of activities everyday and we very much enjoyed the poolside bar and the professionalism and friendliness of the scuba shop pros. A couple of small negatives; we upgraded to a beachfront cottage but found it to be kind of old and a little rundown. Especially the bathroom. The beachfront location is nice but if we did it over we would have stayed in a luxury beachfront room instead. Also, for us, we like to go off the resort and experience the community and local restaurants. If you visit Rendezvous you should really plan on staying the entire time at the resort. Travel off to further away towns is neither cheap nor convenient and we didn't really see anything in Castries which made the trip there worthwhile. Also, our visit to the Castries market lasted all of about five minutes because of very aggressive vendors and panhandlers. Not a pleasant experience. As a side note, we booked this trip through Ruth DeMuth at TripGuy Travel (TripGuy.com). Ruth was amazing! Excellent to deal with and she provided great advice, service, and value in booking our trip. We will definately use Ruth for our next vacation.

We were very impressed on arrival. The hotel is right on the beach. We were shown promptly to our room which was on the 3rd floor the Garden rooms. The room itself was lovely well equipped and clean with a lovely view of the gardens and the wildlife. We had a Black finch that visited us every day for a snack and would be there every morning and evening when we got back from the beach. We saw lots of humming birds too which were stunning to watch when you got to see them. So beautiful so I am glad I got to see them. Some of the areas were a bit tired and needed an upgrade but sure these will be upgraded in the near future. What makes this place is the staff. Most (but not all) are fantastic. Too many to name but the ones that are happy are the best. My fave was Francis. She was a delight always with a flower in her hair what a lovely lady. They all remembered your name too. Thought the reception staff could be a bit off sometimes when you asked them a question it was a straight no and no help. That being a minor thing. The food was fabulous but as other reviews the sit down menu in the evening was the best. The breakfast and lunch was brilliant and no complaints so the evening change was very welcome. Clientele a bit on the older side when we were there. We were fine with the drinks premium doesn't bother us and we probably wouldn't notice the difference anyway. We didn't try the champagne bar it wasn't our thing thought tried the 2 other restaurants and they seemed to have the same menu as the Terrace when it was the sit down service. Overall a lovely holiday. Would recommend.

Myself and my husband have recently returned from a stay at Rendezvous. Overall we had a lovely stay, however there were a few points that were not to our personal preference, which would mean we probably wouldn’t return. Before visiting, we read lots of reviews about how great the food was at the hotel. We both enjoyed the breakfast choice each morning, my husband particularly enjoying the fresh smoothies on offer and myself enjoying the French toast. We found Malabar to be great for lunch (we always arrived early to get a table), however we found the food in the evening disappointing and boring due to having exactly the same accompaniments with most meals. I must add though that we seemed to be an exception to this, as most other people said they really enjoyed it so don’t let that put you off. We tried the Trysting place once; the food, service and the decor all very old fashioned, with each starter seemingly coming with a garnish of balsamic glaze (assuming they thought this was the modern thing to do?!) and my husbands pate was garnished with a silver skin onion, cut in half and strategically placed on the plate. I see where they’re trying to go with this but it most certainly isn’t fine dining. We found the drinks choice at the main bars to be poor, with mainly local drinks served and a very limited wine choice. We both enjoy a good gin and tonic yet Gordon’s was the best the had to offer. You could get a Tanqueray at the Champagne bar in the evening, however. We were most impressed by the champagne bar and the standard of champagne on offer during the tasting hour. The service offered by the staff around the pool and beach areas is second to none. You are never left without a drink and they ensure you are hydrated with plenty of water in the hot weather. We really enjoyed spending time around the pool by the spa, however the pool could do with a bit of TLC. There are lots of loose tiles in piles around the pool, and I leant up against the pool side whilst wearing a white bikini, and came away black with dirt! We stayed in a beach cottage which was absolutely lovely and very modern, with sun beds reserved outside on the beach. These rooms would be a good choice if you enjoyed spending time on the beach, as all of the sunbeds on the main parts of the beaches were taken by 8:30am. Other reviews have mentioned about locals having access to the beach. This is correct as all beaches are public, and perhaps something to bare in mind if you were looking to visit the hotel for peace and quiet, as the beaches can get quite busy with locals having lots of fun, and invariably making quite a lot of noise. I really enjoyed the light entertainment throughout the day, and on the whole the evening entertainment was inoffensive. I particularly enjoyed the steal drum band. As mentioned, all in all a lovely, and good value holiday with great hospitality and we met some lovely people there, (lots of whom return year after year), but for us, we wouldn’t return mainly due to the food and drink offering.
