    Someone may think that this is harsh, but more was expected from a Secrets resort. I’ve stayed at many resorts and you expect certain things. First walking on to the property and not see immaculate grounds was different. The room was clean and comfortable, but getting washcloths and hand towels daily didn’t happen. The beach area is small because of the resort being in a bay so not much room for beach walking. I was able to see stingrays and sea turtle snorkeling. Their is a gym, no music. The resort did have a couple of hikes during the week. Breakfast is the only buffet, wish lunch was the same. For a quick lunch, the Barefoot Grill is your best choice. We used the Olio restaurant once, it took a couple of hours. A couple of different restaurants are open at night with very good food. The Italian restaurant, Portofino, is average. The food service was the most disappointing. Orders would be forgotten or brought to the table wrong. You could run out of something to drink while eating and no one checked on the table. Brenton at the Manatees pool bar was friendly and very good. No one was checking around the pool or beach areas for drinks. We used the AmStar service for a couple of excursions, an island tour and the Loterie Farm. We used the spa service for a 80 minute massage. Probably the best massage I have ever had. Hopefully the service gets better with more time. I’m sure the COVID-19 is not helping.

    Secrets in Paradise

    We are preferred club members and stayed in a swim up room at the resort. Although the staff at the office was welcoming and professional, It took 3 times and a couple of days to get toiletries, more snacks and liquor sent to our suite. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and nice! A few suggestions: a newsletter delivered to the room (we never knew what restaurants were open, entertainment as well as turndown service nightly, provide snacks at the preferred club lounge, ice machines need to be provided, the hot tub was not working, and the resort needs to be sprayed for ants, flies and mosquitoes. Overall, it is a beautiful location , a nice resort and would try it again sometime after covid.

    Secrets St. Maarten is beautiful and new. Staff is helpful and always willing to go the extra mile. As it is a new resort you are truly on ISLAND time so be ready to wait for things. They need to hire more wait staff especially around the pool area and on the beach. The rooms are beautiful and the pool and beach areas are fantastic

    My wife and I went out on a limb and took an excursion to Secrets St. Martin during Easter weekend , let me tell you. Due to the likes of people like Patricio , MeMe, Francesca, and Claud, just to name a few. There enthusiasm , effort and energy to go above and beyond their job exceptions are extremely obvious and MUCH appreciated. Not to mention the lavish and luxurious resort amenities , nothing left out. Attention to detail at all levels. I highly recommend Secrets St. Martins to everyone. It wasn't the resort , but the staff that brought tears to my eyes to leave this paradise. Last but not least, Thank you to the General Manager , whom made it possible for me to wake up every morning with a fresh pot of coffee.... Thank you Secrets St. Martins

    The island/resort are absolutely beautiful! The views from just the taxi ride provided by amstar were amazing. It’s about a 30 min trip from airport to resort. As UVC members we booked a preferred king swimout, upon arrival they did not upgrade us or entertain the idea when asked. They eventually gave in and upgraded us, but not without a big fight. They (Esteban and Jose) tried to lie about the upgrade rooms. Seems like the general mangers of the resort are reluctant to upgrade the UVC members unless pressured. Water pressure in room is horrible (from what we heard it’s all rooms) No drying hair in bathroom, outlets not equipped. Must dry at the mini bar. Fridge feels like there gonna explode cause the ventilation in cabinetry. Jacuzzi in main area is not working Ok so enough about that.... Staff is amazing!!!! Everyone is super hardworking and nice, they are trying their best with limited resources. Notable employees: Janelle at the front lobby who should actually be the general manager! She runs the show, does it all( no seriously) was super accommodating during our room upgrade. She made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. She is wonderful and caring. Rolinda at the pool bar is an amazing worker who makes sure your cup is never empty, always with a smile on her face. Sunshine the pool manager is super friendly and a great source of information on the island.. he’s the guy you need if you need anything. All together the entire staff was amazing!! Restaurants: food was amazing shout-out to chef Bruno and team!! Just be aware resort was fully opened however upon arrival we learned that only 1-2 restaurants were open at night (assuming due to only 60 people being at the resort at the time). Hibachi.. there is none apparently they are still looking for the chef. General managers: The fake and phony Esteban and Jose who walk around like royalty on the resort but really don’t do much. Both super nice at first but once they tried to downgrade our room and tell us the marina suites were not available, turns out they were available and just lied. Magically after our fight our room was ready( 10 mins later) and multiple swim out Mariana rooms were occupied the next day. All in all it was an amazing trip, location, food and staff are 5 star!!! Knowing this is a new resort, we have faith the kinks will be out in no time! We will definitely be back. Closing note: Janelle for General Manager!! she really deserves it!!
