We stayed for a week over New Year’s, which is crazy expensive but when we can go! This was our 7th trip to the island but the first time staying at OCW. We wanted location but didn’t want the holiday prices of Grace Bay and Seven Stars. With two kids (3 and 5yo), we try to avoid taxis or driving without car seats so walkability is key. Multiple restaurants at different price points, as well as the grocery store, are all within walking distance. While we generally stay at properties a notch or two above OCW, this was a great, clean hotel for our stay that we would recommend to others. We stayed in a one bedroom (#423) ocean view. We had a rollaway brought in because the couch did not pull out. The units are typical to many other resorts on the island, individually owned and decorated. We did not find the furniture in ours to be comfortable (old mattress, hard couches and outdoor furniture). It definitely needs a new mattress and the bedding is crinkly and loud (I know that sounds strange but every time we’d roll over, it was noisy) so that needs to be upgraded. The kitchen was outfitted well enough although plastic glasses for the beach would’ve been great. The full bathroom had been redone which was nice. The unit got the job done and we’d still stay here for the price (for this time of year) but would try another unit in the future. (We would stay somewhere else another time of year, when prices are more reasonable - nothing wrong with OCW, we just prefer a little nicer and a little more service.) The pool and grounds area are very nice, with a tropical look. They have three clean new grills in the center of the pool area with grilling equipment that worked out perfect for a couple casual lunches. The restaurant on property is very good, although service at lunchtime is insanely slow. There is a new beach bar this year that seems to get the food out much faster even though the kitchen in the same as the regular restaurant. Only once did I see beach service. The beach is, of course, beautiful. At New Year’s three rows of chairs were set up but are spaced decently far apart. People definitely go down early to put their towels on first row and then come back several hours later. Kayaks and SUP’s are complimentary. Service is “light” in general, which is what we were expecting. No turn-down, put out your own towels, no concierge. They did have someone to help us with luggage. The island is definitely more built up in recent years and they were at 100% for the majority of the week. Dinner reservations need to be made in advance for anywhere that takes them. The island was overall very busy – the beach looked like Panama City a couple times there were so many parasailers, tubers, and tour boats out there. Our last day or two, most of the crowds had thinned out and it was back to the quiet Turks that we love.

    Excellent stay

Property/Staff/Room: Very nice property. Clean facilities with great maid service. Friendly staff. Each condo is individually owned so they have their own touches/decorations. Ours had a washer and dryer with detergent. Also had a beach bag, little beach cups and a cooler were very nice. Coffee maker and coffee in the room. Little porch was great for coffee and lunch. Our room was one of the farthest from the ocean and it was still very close, maybe 60 second easy walk. Beach: World class beach, number one attraction of this facility, makes it worth the price. Beautiful water. Plenty of beach chairs, three rows on either side. We got out their between 7-8am and were able to find a front row spot each day. Towel service down at the beach. Clean bathrooms right down at the beach. Bar/restaurant: Solana is the only restaurant on site, the others listed on the website are at the sister location over a mile away, the website does not make this clear. Solana serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, we had all three and all three were good. you can also get food to go to take to the beach or room. There is a bar on the beach which is nice, pretty expensive but most things on the island are. Location: there are little shops down the road that have good shopping. There is also a very nice grocery store walking distance that I would compare to a fresh market or kroger, wide selection. We got beer, wine and liquor from the store, saved on drinks at the beach bar. Would definitely stay at this property again.

We stayed in a studio with queen bed, pull out sofa with kitchette and it was lovely. We could make breakfast, coffee, full fridge for snacks with a gourmet grocery store within walking distance. We didn't have a pool or ocean view, but the landscaping around the resort is so beautiful that we loved the privacy of having breakfast and happy hour on our screened in porch with palm tree swaying in the distance. You're surrounded by lush tropical landscape. The staff is very nice, incredibly accommodating. There's a tennis court, bikes, gorgeous pool, restaurant and 2 bars. Plenty of shaded lounge chairs and free towels on the beach. Walk to shops and restaurants. We rented a car one day for lunch at Chalk sound. Gorgeous. You can even walk (30 mins) to snorkel off the beach at Bight Reef. There are great walks to surrounding properties for lunch or dinner or just a stroll.

We stayed at the Ocean Club West in November. It was better than expected with, a very accommodating staff. Our room surpassed expectations which included a full balcony and a full kitchen. I have traveled to a lot of islands and can tell you that this one, is the definition of unplugged. The island and resort itself is extremely laid back. The price was amazing, the room was above expectation and the staff went above and beyond consistently. They also provide bike shares for free and free shuttle service. Id highly recommend this resort to individuals and family who wants a very laid back and true beach bum experience!

The room was clean with a beachy vibe. Loved the kitchenette with a LARGE fridge. Although I didn't cook, I appreciated having the kitchenette for drinks, snacks and heating up some food which I bought. Very convenient. Also what I loved is the location. On the beach and right in the centre of Grace Bay, a very short walk to Graceway Gourmet grocery store and lots of restaurants within walking distance. Ocean Club West also has grocery buggies that you can use and walk with, right to the grocery store so that you don't need to cab it if you don't have a car or, if you just want to walk it. How amazing is that? The front desk staff was always friendly as was the housekeeping. I loved it!
