Very nice resort, excellent lay out. Liliana on the front desk was excellent, she helped me several times during our stay. Bell hops very attentive. Good internet service. Staff at snack bar and pool bar were incredible. So much fun. Reservation lady for a la crates super. Staff at buffet were nice. Great drinks at lobby bar, coffee is so good! Our maid took care of our room and always had water. Entertainment team did a great job. Lots of laughs. Would definitely return.

Check-in: Missed on basic information about the hotel procedures like reservations for the á-la-carte-restaurants etc. Room: Was dirty upon arrival. Hair on the floor and bed, blood stains on the sheds. Fridge was empty (this is an All Inclusive hotel). Other guests had a full fridge with soft drinks etc. We had to run around the hotel and beg at different places to recieve a bottle of water for the night. Every day we again had to ask for drinking water and toilet paper. The room service never took care. No one helped us with our luggage either. Three days prior to our departure they started construction work on the roof of our room‘s building. Making it impossible to stay within the room during the day because of the loud noise. Restaurants: The best we got here was pasta from a live cooking station. Food at the buffets was always cold, even when we went there as soon as they opened. Breakfast lagged basic stuff like toast and slices of cheese. Pancakes were probably made hours ago and include hair of employees. Same for some meals we had for lunch. Plates and silverware were never near clean. That one time we managed to book a spot in a á-la-carte-restaurant a lot of the food on the menu wasn’t available and we had to sit in the restaurant with all windows opened. Bars: Bar staff was the friendliest of all (greetings to Kater!). Most employees were always grumpy and not helpful at all, most didn’t even speak a single word of English. There was no bar menu and we had the impression everything was stripped down to the minimum. Beach bar always closed early, so one had to walk a long distance to get a drink for the beach. Entertainment: Annoying animation at the pool and pointless dancing by the beach, that’s about it. Nearly no one participated, so they stopped it at some point. Pool: Nice, but there were no shades at all. Pool was blocked completely two days prior to our departure. Beach: The best thing about this hotel was the awesome beach with its turquois, warm water. Too bad there was plastic and trash all over the place and no one of the many employees at the beach cared about picking them up. Also, using one-way plastic cups in 2020 is a shame. Covid-19 crisis: We are aware of the fact, that these are challenging times for the whole travel and hotel industry, but we expect the hotel to treat us like every other paying guest they welcomed this season and with the same if not even more afford. That feeling we had at no time. Instead there was barely any information from the management at all. Complaints weren’t answered and no one ever gave us any details about the measures, although we have been evacuated to another hotel one day before our official departure. An announced meeting with the hotel‘s general manager never took place. We just sit there waiting and no one came. What kind of management does this? During the complete period of our stay we had the impression, this hotel and its staff just wanted to get rid of us and other paying guests. Shame on you and shame on Melia Sol! We will never consider to stay in one of your hotels ever again!

Very clean renovated place with some issues..

The room is superbe. Freshly renovated, it was flawless. Love it. The area is very clean, they take good care of the place. The pool is big enough and clean but there is no shade. I believe they will eventually add shade to the pool, there is some construction already done. The food is not very good. Lots of variety but nothing special. Expect things to be missing, like orange juice, and others things, it happens daily. Some workers are very friendly some are not. The pool bartender is the best. Drinks are ordinary...but they are not cheap on alcohol Of course the beach in Varadero is the best, although the week we were there it was very windy..still a beautiful beach. The only downer to the beach is that there is no bathroom or bar near, you have to climb a hill of sand to go the hotel area, no little bridge to help you get across. In the end it was annoying. Prepare to chase around for stuff needed in the room, like water and toilet papers. They will provide one 2l of water per day, i believe its not enough for 2 people, specially when one has diabetes. And the internet is not free, i've asked for a week fee but got turned down so you have to go to the front desk to constantly ask for a code for the wifi...its another annoying thing. Dont expect huge entertainement. There is no specific stage for shows, just the pool area you will find some signers or dancers occasionnally. That was a downer Overall i recommend the place if you are not to picky on food and entertainement.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel, the best part was the people working at this resort, especially the bartender Omar Alejandro and the cook Dayana. Omar is a very experienced bartender and served everyone efficiently! He kept everyone at the snack bar entertained and happy at all times when he was working. All of the food that Dayana was cooking up was amazing. I am definately going to return to this hotel very soon!!!! Big shout out to OMAR!!!

When our flights to Cuba were cancelled due to Covid-19, this hotel dealt with our situation quickly and professionally. Communications were clear and courteous. When the current crisis passes we will absolutely visit them.
