My sister had her wedding reception here last month and everything about our stay was amazing! The staff were very attentive and awesome at making sure we had everything we needed while following strict Covid protocols that made us feel safe while celebrating this special occasion. Top notch experience and would definitely stay again! Would recommend! ??

My stay at the Winnipeg Fairmont was wonderful. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The location was perfect, we were within walking distance to the Forks and The Museums of Human Rights as well as the University of Winnipeg where my daughter attends. The staff went above and beyond to look after us, especially Dawn and May. I am looking forward to coming back again soon.

    Brief Stop in Winnipeg

We stopped at Fairmont Winnipeg on our trip back to Victoria, BC. We were provided with a very clean and spacious King Bed Room. The Hotel has good COVID-19 protocols in place including a temperature check at Check-In. There was limited food service due to pandemic safety protocols. We ordered our food via room service. I ordered a “Pork Belly” burger platter which was very delicious! The meat was very tender and literally melted in your mouth. It came with your choice of side. But one thing I really remember was the great sleep in that king bed. We had been staying at other hotels, including ‘king beds’ (good for a romp or just making a Fort - ?? ) but this mattress must have had a memory foam mattress (?). It was the best sleep we had on our cross-country trip. The service was excellent, the staff was courteous, and even the price was great. When visiting Winnipeg, we will definitely stay again. Brad

I am in the hospitality industry and I always consider it a treat and a splurge to stay at the Fairmont. I have had nothing but the best experiences and the most friendly staff. My husband and I have now been travelling for 4 days, across Canada. Today, after 11 hours we decided to treat ourselves to a night at the fairmont in Winnipeg. I called early this morning and made a reservation for us and our two dogs. The woman on the phone was very friendly. I made sure to call front desk and ask about parking as we have very expensive items in our Jeep. She assured us we would be able to park out front and use a bell cart. When we arrived, check in was smooth. They explained to us that we couldn’t park out front as there was no spots left but we could use a bell cart first. No problem. She then explained there is two parkades and we were to use the last one , our vehicle is very large, so it wouldn’t fit in the first one. After driving around the block to the parkade- it was closed. We then drove back around and no one could seem to offer us a solution. We asked the concierge and he then disappeared for 30 minutes. At which point, the front desk came over and told us to park in an abandoned parking lot next door. We used fast check out, due to Covid. I just received my Bill and they charged us for parking. What a joke.

Staff paranoid about welcoming guests from Ontario...

Upon arrival we were screened with questions and they took our temperature. They were being cautious because of COVID. We didn't have a problem with that and all was good. We proceeded to check in where we were told that since we were from Ontario, that amenities, such as, the pool were off limits to us. We were also asked to stay in our room and that if we wanted food, they could have it sent up to our room. Obviously we were not impressed. We were only staying one night so their insensitive request was going to cut into our sightseeing time of Winnipeg. If we weren't tired from our long drive then we would have looked for another hotel. The next morning we checked out 2 hours before checkout just so we could do some sightseeing before heading to our next destination. We visited a well known area of Winnipeg called, The Forks. It's a nice parkland by the river with shops and restaurants. We had a lovely breakfast at The Forks. If The Fairmont is so paranoid about having guests from Ontario then don't book them in. We booked our stay weeks in advance of our arrival. If we knew how paranoid they were about Ontario guests, then we would have gladly spent our money at another hotel. Winnipeg was just one stop on a long road trip over a period of 2 weeks. We stayed in an additional 5 hotels during our road trip and all of them treated their guests equally. The Fairmont Winnipeg, although a beautiful 4 star hotel, we did not feel welcomed there. Next time we're in Winnipeg, we'll be staying at another hotel who knows the importance of making all guests feel welcomed.
