The identity of Jamaica's cuisine has been formed by waves of immigrants who brought their recipes with them and added it to the national cookbook. African, British, Chinese, Indian and Spanish influences have all been added to native produce and protein. From jerked chicken and curried goat to ackee and salt fish, the choice of flavours and spices is as varied as the people that brought them.

If you are thirsty, there's no better place to have a drink of ginger beer or Jamaican rum and the world famous Blue Mountain's Coffee is a great way to finish a meal.
