Myself and my husband booked Halcyon Cove for a relaxing Caribbean holiday, which is what we had. Upon arrival I was greeted by Sean, the receptionist who was very welcoming. The hotel grounds were lovely, right on the beautiful beach with pretty garden views. The room was spacious, the bed very comfy and was cleaned daily. Even though the room itself was tired, this didn't bother me at all - I don't travel to the West Indies to stay in my room! The food was tasty with more of a selection breakfast and evening time. Drinks were great also, with real measures! All staff members were very friendly wanting to make our stay as best as possible. Dave would do pool aerobics in the morning. DJ Jesse provided music in the evenings. One night a steel band played, they were very good. Ladona and Stacey provided us with clean beach towels every morning, the restaurant staff, bar team and chefs, were all happy to assist. Overall a lovely relaxing holiday, very good value for money.

100% recommend! You won’t regret it

Absolutely fantastic! The staff and people are really what makes the Halcyon memorable. The all inclusive package is wonderful; you really get good value for money as the food provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner always had different options suitable for literally everyone (including kids). Our rooms were cleaned everyday and although the rooms could do with a little updating, the service of the staff, the beach and the whole atmosphere at Halycon makes you forget. 100% recommend.

If this was not my country, this hotel would make me not want to return. The front desk representative was not very welcoming upon arrival, her name starts with a D. When I booked my room, it was supposed to have two double beds. When I got here it was one king sized bed. We checked in a little after 3, they told us they would bring an extra bed to the room. When put our things down and went to sit outside, we came back in after 9 and the bed was still not there. We called them and they took a while to come. We thought it was going to be a cot but it was an actual bed so that was one of the only two things that was good here. I will say that I had a good nights rest, the beds are pretty comfy. We asked for towels and fresh wash cloths. We received the towels but had to call back for the wash clothes, that took almost 45 minutes. When the lady came back she basically told us to hold on to the wash cloths until our last day. Food/drinks: the food was okay, some nights were better than others. Not sure what kind of “all inclusive” doesn’t have room service or at least water included, but don’t come here expecting that. They don’t allow you to bring food to the room, not even cups. Correction, they allow you to bring cups but you have to walk all the way to the bar to bring them back. In other places that I’ve visited, you can leave items like that for housekeeping to collect. The drinks were strong! I’ll give them that much. It rained heavily one day and the room had a leak. The shower did not look good either. My sister even wanted to shower with slippers because of how it looked. I had a sore throat when I arrived, and I wanted to make some tea. I looked in the hot water bottle and it was rusty!! Turned me completely off. THE RESORT IS DEAD. One night as we were waiting for the beach bbq, there was no entertainment. No music no nothing!! Anywhere else I’ve stayed, it’s always lively to keep guest entertained. We even asked the front desk person what is there to do, this was a Sunday, she said “nothing, tonight is a quiet night.” I wanted to tell her that every night that I’ve been here has been a quiet night!! Don’t get me wrong, I do not want a loud resort but this One was boring. Spend a little extra money for somewhere better. My two stars were for the strong drinks and the fact that the extra bed was not a cot. My sisters & I said we have to have a do over because this resort was not the one!

    A great stay.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Starfish Halcyon Cove, although we had a great stay the hotel is in urgent need of a major make over, many parts are looking out dated and untidy.Such a shame because the location is superb, the beach is lovely, the staff are so friendly and polite, the menu choice may not be to varied but what ever we decided on is was really nice. The room we had was ok but the bathroom needed to be ripped out and replaced, the bath had no plug and to make it look good it had been painted and filled very badley, the basin had no plug so to shave I had to leave the tap running, great when they ask you to conserve water. It would have been nice to have a bottle of water in the fridge ready for you but sadly no.Take lots of bug spray as you tend to get bitten at night, they will spray your room but you have to ask every evening at reception otherwise it won't get done. If you want to do any trips out DO NOT DO NOT!!!!!!!! book them from people on the beach or David the water aerobics coach. We did the wrong thing and booked a horse riding experience but is turned out to be disastrous, dangerous where by we walked back to the hotel as the horses were wild and kept bolting no riding hats and the tack was in very bad condition saddle with no girth buckle only tide, stirrups which did not adjust properly. It may cost a little more but always book with your rep or through the hotel. Would recommend that you go to Shirley Heights on a Sunday,GREAT!!!

    Very relaxing...........

First trip to the island. First off the people are just plain Friendly! We had read the reviews about the resort and I was not sure about what to expect. The place is outdated, but big deal. Our room was big, comfy bed, and everything worked (great A/C). Thanks Debbie for the room upgrade:) We had a pool view on 2nd floor, large balcony, with beach view. Denise at the front desk was very helpful and of course friendly. The food was alway hot, don't see that often at buffets. The choice for drinks was more then we have seen in other resorts, and Ken was great at making ours just right! It was our 30th anniversary and there was a bottle on sparkling wine and card waiting in our room. Nice touch!!!!!. Kareem with Salt life tours hooked us up for some snorkelling and we had a great day with him. Not much going on at night, it would be nice if there was a bar lounge to hang out in that was open not just the beach bar. All in all, we would go back in a heart beat. The staff is just like the reviews say, and that's the Truth!!!!
