Perfect place to stay!

We did major research on hotels for this trip to Aruba but when it came down to it, there really was only one choice. The Hyatt Regency exceeded our already high expectations. We arrived right before check in and had to wait a few minutes before the room was ready. The front desk was apologetic even though it was certainly not their fault, and promptly got us squared away as soon as possible. We were given a room in the Trankhilo wing (I called it the adult wing) facing the adult pool and the ocean. Just a gorgeous view from our Juliet balcony. The room was spotless, with two comfy queen sized beds, big pillows, plenty of storage space and a beautiful bathroom. The grounds are lovely and obviously a lot of effort is taken keeping them that way. There is a giant koi pond around the lower level, a beautiful beachfront and a family pool as well as the adult pool. Book your beach or pool chairs and umbrellas on line as soon as you can (however if someone doesn’t claim their reserved spot by 11am, all bets are off and you can use unoccupied chairs). We never had a problem, the adult pool was not crowded at all, and we were even able to switch chairs to sit right at water’s edge at the adult pool. Busier times may be different but we caught the hotel in between busy weeks. The Palm restaurant offers a very good (but pricey) breakfast buffet as well as menu service. The Shocko Market has snacks, ready made sandwiches and drinks. And Ruinas Del Mar was pretty good for our first dinner as well. Housekeeping was amazing, and the entire staff was very friendly. The only thing I would suggest is that this property stop using the wrist bands for access to the elevators and rooms. On more than one occasion we were stopped mid floor on the elevator because the wrist bands didn’t work and more than once I could not get into my room for the same reason. Room cards would be preferable. All in all, beautiful hotel, a very nice place to stay and if we make our way back to Aruba, the Hyatt is our choice.

Excellent experience! The banquet staff was especially excellent and attentive. Very clean and lovely place! Breakfast buffet was very well managed and staffed. The open air lobby was comfortable and staffed with friendly, helpful people.
