Average Experience

I’ve stayed at both Paradisus Cancun and Cabo. I do not think I’ll return to either as there are far superior resorts in both locations. Paradisus Cancun is a beautiful property/location, but the resort is run down. My party received an “updated” luxury ocean view room and it was still fairly basic. Sink in bathroom did not drain properly. No coffee in room. Check in process is a nightmare. Expect to wait at least one hour. This is the first resort I’ve been to that does not give you a room until the exact check in time (3pm). Others in our party did not receive their room until almost 4 pm. If you have a room in the main pyramid (#3), be aware that it will be loud until appx 11 pm due to shows and music. This was not an issue for my party, but may be for others. Restaurants do not accept reservations. If you want to eat any at of the restaurants you need to line up at 6 pm to put your name on the list. For Lemon Fish, you’ll need to line up even earlier. If you have a larger party (9 or more), expect a 2 hour wait for a table (or be told they cannot accommodate your party). We were only able to eat at Cielo and Capella. Buffet food was hit and miss. Often cold. Pool has minimal shade and chairs. My party rented a cabana near the pool bar for $255 PER DAY (x 4 days). Includes a bottle of champagne and seafood platter each day. Jorge, our cabana waiter, was excellent. Service elsewhere in the resort was average.
Nice views, good food, lineups and poor service

Our family of three, consisting of a couple and an eleven-year-old, from Toronto, Canada. We travel regularly to destinations in the sun. Our recent experience at Paradisus Cancún left us with mixed feelings. While the resort boasts a picturesque setting, we encountered numerous challenges during our stay, ranging from limited amenities to poor management decisions. Check-in, Staff, and a Safety Incident: The check-in process was slow and poor, lack of staff authority, requiring constant referral to higher management for even basic requests. Despite generally friendly interactions, the staff seemed not motivated to address guest needs promptly or even to listen and show a basic level of empathy, demonstrating a lack of understanding of the basics in the hospitality world. We did, however, witness a commendable response from management during a safety incident (hair dryer was so old that it caught fire while being used). Amenities and Swimming Pools: Despite the resort's sprawling size, it fell short in providing essential amenities commensurate with its capacity. Access to necessities like towels and showers was often accompanied by long queues, with inadequate seating and umbrellas causing further inconvenience at both the pools and beach. All these easily manageable to address, however, no sign of any willingness to help and or even trying to improve. Night Entertainment and Dining: Nightly entertainment offerings were underwhelming, lacking quality, adequate seating and a designated stage area. On the culinary front, while the food quality ranged from acceptable to good, the constant upselling of additional items excluded from all-inclusive and the exclusion of certain restaurants from the all-inclusive package left much to be desired. Drinks and Rooms: While the resort offered a decent selection of beverages, the frequent extra charges for certain items detracted from the all-inclusive experience. Any wine other than house wine, cava or Sake are all extra! Even Coconut juice is extra!!! Room quality varied inconsistently, with multiple relocations necessary due to maintenance issues and inadequate bedding options. Air conditioning units are located in the ceiling of the rooms as individual units. Very noisy and hardly able to control the temperature and humidity in the rooms. In conclusion, our experience at Paradisus Cancún left us dissatisfied with the overall value for money. The resort's shortcomings in amenities, service, and room quality overshadowed its scenic beauty. We have no intention of returning and would advise seeking alternative resorts in the area offering better value and more guest-focused management.
Memorable Holiday thanks to the Paradisus Vibe!

We had a wonderful holiday at Paradisus Cancun! I travelled with my spouse and 4 yo daughter! The beach is beautiful - minimal seaweed and significantly longer stretch compared to other resorts on the strip - I can vouch for this as we walked the strip! The waves were high making it more of a surfer’s beach. However once you pass the initial little bit of rocks, it soft sand underneath and you can swim and ride the waves easily during low tide. We really could not get enough of this beautiful beach!! They had volleyball at the beach every day at 11 am - this was popular and in high demand as many guests joined to play! Our guest concierge Atzi ensured our trip was impeccable. She guided us to get our catamaran tour booked to Isle des Mujeres and photoshoot done through the hotel. Initially our room was not upto the mark and she got us upgraded promptly making our experience so much better! We did attend the presentation/talk and it was a valuable product, however not for my family. There was zero harassment during the talk - the reps were very pleasant and respectful. The food is amazing and delicious at this Resort - Malva buffet is really wonderful - a variety of food/cuisine - pasta bar every night, teriyaki/stirfry bar, Brazilian style meat bar another night, yummy desserts, fruits - something for everyone! My absolute favourite a la carte experience was at Cielo - their Lamb Birria was heavenly! The service from Melvin Jimenez and staff was impeccable - efficient and they were ready to accommodate us! Chef David Corrales came and out and spoke to guests in the restaurant- we had the opportunity to taste Mexican delicacies - insects - cricket that were really delicious! We also went to Flora (we had octopus and Moroccan meat balls) and Agua Marina (catch of the day and shrimp tacos) and were quite pleased with the food. Capella was good as well however I later found that Malva and Mascarpone were able to replicate many aspects of the menu. Blue Agave was good - limited to tacos only but still quite delicious. Lemon pepper - Japanese Peruvian fusion was okay and overhyped in my opinion - ridiculous wait times - turned away three days and then finally on our 4th attempt we got in and I thought the food was average - enjoyed some sushi and salman katsu and chocolate cake. The people working at Paradisus are very nice, welcoming and warm hearted. Jorge at the main pool took care of us and made sure we had good drinks and lunch by the pool. My daughter enjoyed pizza every day for lunch from Mascarpone followed by ice cream right next to it. There is also a taco stand there and we enjoyed chicken, pork and beef tacos (alternated each day). We enjoyed aqua beats (water exercise) at the Main pool as well as a nice pool activity that involved climbing a pad and then going through obstacles and then down a slide and back into the pool - my daughter went on it 6 times in one day - great activity for adults and children! There was always good entertainment by the quiet pool during the evenings - across from the Fahrenheit bar. One night they had a dinner and dance show set up outside as well. There was also a churros stands. Another night there was a circus and acrobatics as well as a children’s game station through kidsdom. There is a coffee shop/stand where they serve nespressso 24/7 and usually have some pastries or baked goods to pair with the coffees. The only reason for my 4 star rating is the Rooms accommodation - in need of major renovations and not at a 5 star standard. We originally booked lagoon view and were upgraded to ocean view. I heard and read great things about The Reserve(adults only) and Nichte rooms - both of which are recently renovated. If you’re considering booking Nichte or Reserve I would strongly recommend as then you will have the complete 5 star experience! Overall our vacation was truly memorable and we enjoyed the vibe of Paradisus Cancun!
