Great location close to all the best beaches in the Kaanapali area! Short walk to grocery’s, beach rental equipment, and places to eat right across the street. Well kept beautiful grounds, Koi ponds, pool area complete with Weber gas grills for barbecue, putting greens, tennis and pickle ball too. Awesome sunsets from the property with plenty of room to get your photos or we could view them from our patio balcony. Stayed in room B203 and had wonderful views of the ocean and the sunsets every evening. Have seen reviews that the resort is “dated” but we found the room to be updated with a well equipped kitchen, comfy bed, nice furnishings, and enough household supplies to last the week we stayed..even enough towels and wash cloths. Room also had a washer and dryer. Have also read reviews that there was a bug problem. You are in the tropics people, take the trash out and don’t leave food laying around and you won’t have bugs. Have stayed at other places in this area on Maui and will look forward to staying here on our next visit. Thank you for a great stay Aston at Papakea!

I just got home after spending a week here I miss it already. We booked a trip through Costco. I really like the idea of staying in an entire apartment. They were kitchen and laundry facilities and we used them. I washed my clothes several times and it was really nice not coming home with the suitcase full of laundry. The room was clean and there was plenty of furniture to sit around on. They had plenty of towels! The view from the balcony was really nice and are used it every day! Very conveniently located close to beach is restaurants and shopping. The concierge Misha was awesome. She really helped us have an activity packed vacation. She gives an orientation every morning and has a raffle and we won a road to Hana tour which was really nice. If you come here and don’t really have plans definitely go and see her and she will help you figure out the most fun things to do. I am a fast budget and the reasons I did not give us a five star review were: The ac unit vented onto the balcony which caused hotspot s. The fan in the bathroom was really noisy. I like a really hot shower and they had the water heater turn down low so the water did not get hot enough for me. Otherwise it was a great value for what we paid and I would definitely go back if I could!

In response to other reviews for this property - yes they are individually owned. I booked unit 301E on Int. Intl. as a get away since my time share showed no availability. My unit was update very nicely. AC in living room but not in bedroom (fine for me) Seems like all units do have a view of the ocean where you can experience an amazing sunset almost every night. Loved the lanai to sit out & see the ocean & watch the amazing sunsets! Snorkel from the immediate area not available due to sea wall BUT adjacent beaches were awesome to snorkel & I got to see some amazing sea turtles. The Expedia Expert who does an activity talk on Sunday mornings with free coffee & juice & muffins -was amazing her name was MEESHA. Booked a great sunset cruise with her. Ask her about the nearby boardwalk for a great walk!

We stayed here for a week in June this year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our balcony looked onto the beach and was close enough that we could hear the waves crashing in the evenings. Barbecues available around the pool. The condo was clean, spacious and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful.Plenty car parking spaces.Would highly recommend. The complex is suitable for ages.

I believe this was my 4th stay at the same resort. Every time I’ve gone to Maui I’ve always stayed here. Our condo has always been nice and comfy and we really enjoy the ocean front room and being able to hear the waves anytime we are in the condo. I’ve always before stayed in the A building. This time got the F building. When we first walked in I was a bit disappointed at this unit not being updated. It was right out of late 80’s or early 90’s. All other units I’ve stayed in have been renovated. I quickly decided though that I didn’t really care because this unit had the best A/C I had ever had there and it was extremely hot and humid outside. It stayed blessedly cool inside. Now to the bad. Our last full day there we had been snorkeling in the morning and wanted to go back to our room for a nap before heading out again. We immediately noticed this loud racket coming from one of the neighboring units. We just assumed something was getting fixed and it would stop soon. IT CONTINUED!! The noise was unbelievable. My husband finally went out to see if we could tell what unit it was but didn’t see anything. He finally had to go to the front desk because we were dying. They said it was the unit above us and we should be glad that it hadn’t started the day before like it was suppose to. I called and complained to company that owns the property but then had to get out of there. My head was already killing me. Wish I could post a video here so you could here the noise. It was deafening. After we had already left someone calls and says they are willing to switch our room for the night. It was a hassle but really didn’t want to listen to that again. We made the switch but the damage was already done. I ended up with a migraine that night and spent all night and all our last morning laying down hoping I wouldn’t throw up. My frustration is that they never even mentioned a renovation would be going on. NO guest should ever have to stay next to that. We paid a lot of money to stay in a “peaceful oceanfront” unit. If no other rooms were available at check in we should have been told they would be switching us as soon as one opened because of renovations. We were having such a good trip but it ended on a sour note. I will be thinking long and hard before booking there again. ??
