Our wedding at the resort was absolutely magical!!! We had several family members stay at the resort hotel I’m addition to holding the ceremony and reception dinner onsite. Lizbeth, the event coordinator was amazing, she was so helpful with planning and our wedding was seamless, excellent food and beverage and all of the staff was attentive and accommodating the whole way through. Our family and friends were very happy with the hotel!!! Highly recommend the resort for weddings and events!!! Many, many thanks to Lizbeth and all the staff who helped with our special day!!

This hotel has been in bankruptcy for several years. It is owned by the Bank Norte and run by bean counters who have no idea how to manage a hotel. Too bad in such an incredibly beautiful location. Result: ROOM: dirty - HOT WATER : tepid - FOOD: lousy - SERVICE : non-existant - WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?

I cane to Loreto bay as it was on my bucket list for some time.they made me pay up front for all nights. The hotel room smelled like a sewer, the room was dirty and old, the food at the restaurant was very poor quality and I checked out early. They would not give me a refund although I was checking out 7 days early. Very misleading place, a one star place, stay away from this place if you like nice places!

My husband and I were put up at this property overnight by Alaska Air after a mechanical cancelled our flight. On the outside (the buildings & grounds), it looked impressive. But we got a single room with 2 single beds and it was pretty bad. If we had a choice in our situation, we would've left. The room was spartan. Only 2 sheets for warmth on a hard bed, concrete bathroom with dirt in corners, worn towels, a shower head on the brink of complete clogging. (The breakfast buffet had bees crawling on the food!) However, a tour guide who was with us said that if you get a "master suite," it is acceptable. But a typical hotel room is definitely NOT.

We’ve just returned from our trip to Loreto and I have to say I’m utterly confused by this hotel’s 5 star rating and the positive reviews. In truth this is a very tired resort. Although renovations were seen being made most of it would be considered “lipstick on a pig” meant to distract you. For example our room was visually appealing, however the patio doors were old and not properly fitted so there were large air holes; there was no patio to step out to - just a pile of mud; the mattress on the bed was ancient (sleep was difficult to get and we woke up with sore shoulders and backs); and the cherry on top was the ice cold water in the shower (we made several attempts to get support around the water temperature, but were told each time it was fine/normal temperature). If you have the pleasure of meeting Fernando at the front desk, be warned he’s more the used car salesmen than helpful. For example on our arrival we were greeted with his bubbly friendliness and were happy he spoke English, during the check in process we were offered “an hour free usage of all the water equipment as a gift because we were first time visitors” for which we thanked him for his generosity. We learned a few days later as a guest of the hotel everyone automatically has 1hour free access to water equipment and bicycles. This plus promises to fix the lack of hot water issue etc. Our first night we had been encouraged to participate in happy hour at the rooftop bar. We met two other Canadian couples there and chatted over Margaritas. Unfortunately my husband and I got extremely ill after our nachos and second Margarita, I lost consciousness and fell backwards in my chair, cracking my head on the tile floor. My husband vomited over the railing and was severely dizzy. Thankfully the other couples helped us back to our room. In the morning I had no recollection, bruises all over but no typical hangover symptoms. To be clear we were not intoxicated and have never in our lives reacted to a couple of drinks this way - draw your own conclusions but heed our warning. Note we never ate or drank at the hotel after our first night And had no repeat of the first nights events. I did enjoy a wonderful deep muscle massage at the resort spa. It was the highlight of our stay at the hotel. The spa has a lovely soothing atmosphere and talented massage therapist. The gym is a joke - it is in two separate hotel rooms, the equipment is beyond ancient and packed into the space like sardines. Not to mention the dust and musty air quality. Given that there is a beautiful community right next to the hotel where you can rent a villa/condo, have access to the beach, swimming pools, and fitness classes I don’t know why anyone would ever stay at Loreto Bay Golf Resort.
