Great staycation getaway for Valentine's weekend and to meet up with out-of-state friends. We always have fun at the Hyatt Newport Beach. The is a great location and the staff are superb. It is close to restaurants and close to the marina. Beautiful grounds.

Great hotel, fantastic ambience and views. Balcony view rooms are OK. Fairly small and not represented accurately in the photos on the website. Make sure you ask them to clear the air conditioning filters and vents to prevent any allergens or germs from causing you respiratory issues. Good chance you’ll get a rowdy couple or group next to you if you have an adjoining room which is bad news for any rest or relaxation you may have hope for, especially if you requested a quiet room like we did. Had to call management to get involved because they were loud, banging on the walls and smoking marijuana which creeped into our room. Bed is Extremely firm. If you’re not used to that, bring a mattress pad otherwise you’ll be like the hunchback of Notre Dame when you wake up. The in-house restaurant called SHOR Is great. The restaurant itself is very nice looking and open concept. The food is fantastic. The prices are insane but don’t forget you are in Newport Beach. The front desk staff and valet parkers are also excellent. Service is not lost on these people and they really know how to take care of the guests. Lots of different interesting events take place. Very big location, about 26 acres so there’s lots of walking around to do, discovering lots of the different pools and flowers and walkways. The surrounding area of Newport Beach is spectacular, with corona Del Mar not too far away. At night, all the lighting in the trees throughout the whole resort is beautiful. We would go again. We would just bring an air purifier with us.

We liked this place as the pool, waterslide, and outdoor activities at the resort were great for our son, and the hotel was 30-40 minutes from Disneyland. If traveling to Disneyland, i would recommend getting at least a 3-day Disneyland pass to maximize the experience.

Horrible. Will Never Stay Here Again

This hotel experience was horrible. The staff (Janine) was rude. I checked in and the person checking in next to me was offered warm cookies, late check out, etc. I am also a rewards member staying here on points however was not offered any “perks” besides my room key even when I asked about them. The walls are paper thin. They put my room next to an adjoining room with 4 adults and their children. I could hear every conversation. They went to bed late and were up at 6 am; needless to say, so was I because i couldn’t sleep due to the noise. My room was on the first floor (which I didn’t feel comfortable with being a single woman) and absolute no view. I couldn’t wait to check out.

Disappointing in that the "reservation" somehow indicated a handicapped room and we were then sent to an older section.....the front desk staff were not helpful in resolving the situation!! So both the reservation team and the onsite staff mishandled the stay!
