Don’t Rent a Mobility Scooter Through the Concierge & Enjoy Your Stay! :)

Rachel B on Apr 12, 2024

Overall great stay (other than their mobility scooter vendor who failed gloriously) especially compared to 2 years ago. I feel like housekeeping, minibar, noise between competing events in common areas, and beds have all improved :) Hopefully the insulation between rooms will improve next… Staff are fantastic; Catalina, Juliana, Reuben, Yuritzi, Luis from Bell Desk, and Rosie (all staff from the spa) were amazing! Catalina went above and beyond when we ran into each other by chance as my Mobility Scooter Rental was dying on the way to my spa appointment, and she kindly walked with me to the concierge to ensure I made it, so they could report the issue back to the vendor. Ironically Catalina spotted me on my last day waiting for the scooter company to come pick it up (it had completely died on me and my friends the night before despite 70+% charge remaining on the battery). Catalina helped me show the vendor the recordings of the fault light flashing on the scooter, the beeping, and the manual from the manufacturers website, so they could address the appropriate repairs before renting it out to someone else. Their only response “did you charge it?” “you need to charge it” lol ummm yeah, but if your scooter battery only works while charged between 75%-100%, turns off, beeps at you, and flashes an error light, that still means you need to fix it. That was Total Delivery Farmacia Scooter Delivery according to the invoice. And they have ZERO interest in resolving the issue to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Sadly the several of the high points of my trip were overshadowed (or cancelled since I couldn’t make it) by the complications the scooter kept causing.

Hyatt Ziva could be cleaner

Frank S on Apr 09, 2024

I paid extra for upgraded room which did to be much of an upgrade. There is construction on both sides of the hotel. There is black mold on the tile in the bathroom and a musty smell in the bathroom. There is a wide variety of food. Staff was attentive.

Excellent experience all - we may go again at a less busy time!

Kimberosie (Portland, Oregon) on Apr 09, 2024

So we went to Hyatt Ziva for Spring Break - 6 of us - 4 adults and 2 kids. The property is beautiful overall, updated, clean, modern and comfortable. Great variety of restaurants and options for eating overall. Delicious food and cocktails - was impressed by the quality for an all inclusive. Excellent overall experience. The BEST part about our week was the staff overall - friendly, helpful and warm. In particular, the activities team - friendly, high energy and made our kids have the best time! From their efforts getting folks to participate (great range of options for all) to the prizes (my kiddo was obsessed) really made for some great memories. Special shout out to Francisco and Fernanda both who went above and beyond (and their teams too) but really great - they clearly care about the guests - big gracias to them and their extended teams... The only major drawbacks - it was Spring Break so VERY busy time - you literally had to go to the pool at 4 am to get chairs or spend $150 on a cabana to secure pool side seating. I think they brought out more chairs while we were there to offset this but shouldn't be stressful to find a place to sit during the day - they will have to figure out how to manage this during busy times. Also, you cannot order food poolside unless you rent a cabana which is not a huge deal since lots of options nearby but surprising that you have to pay to be able to get that. Also, dinnertime - only one resto takes reservations so you have to manage your schedule around a 1 hour wait - we figured it out after the first night - put in our name, went to get drinks, etc. but if you don't want to do buffet - you have to be flexible - again, high capacity time so not a major issue - just be aware...

Beautiful

Jennifer R (Pleasant Hill, California) on Apr 07, 2024

I just returned from a trip to Los Cabos with my husband and son. It was our first time in the area, but we had been to other parts of Mexico and other all-inclusive resorts before. We stayed in a double ocean view room on the second floor. The room was a little dated, but everything worked fine, plus it was very spacious and clean enough. Beds and pillows were clean and comfortable. As for the food, it was mostly good, with some misses. The restaurants do not take reservations except for the hibachi tables at the Asian restaurant. The steakhouse is especially popular, so there are long waits. You need to show up early (5:15) or be prepared to wait for over an hour. We went to the Italian place one night and had leftover pizza, but they wouldn’t let us take the rest back to our room, which was strange. Also strange is that they have a policy against reserving pool chairs for more than an hour, but everyone gets up at 5:30 to reserve chairs. They are all taken by 7:00 am. The plus side of this is that you will catch an amazing sunrise most days that early. Go down to the beach and watch the pelicans fishing for breakfast! The sports bar was fun because they have pool tables and allow kids to play if accompanied by adults. The martini bar is also great, especially Esthela, the kindest and best bartender at the resort. My husband and I got massages at the spa and that included access to the hydrotherapy room for two full days. I highly recommend the spa was expensive, but worth it. Yoga on the beach with Lizet was worth doing, and the gym was pretty nice, too. The foam party at the adult pool made for hilarious people-watching. Overall, it was a pretty nice resort experience in a beautiful location.
