Cheap for a Reason!

Sandra T (Ottawa, Canada) on Apr 17, 2024

We stayed here for one night on our way to Negril and then back again for a night on our way home to Canada. The rooms are very dated and smelly. The bathrooms are horrible, old tubs with very little water pressure. The rooms we were given were located in very noisy areas and we did not sleep well, the beds are also rock hard with one sheet given to you to cover yourself. The AC was not working at first but then it was freezing! The carpets in the lobby and up the stairs and hallways are stained and old and smelly. This place has so much potential and needs a 100 % renovation. The food is not bad, some of it is too spicy for my liking, the staff are quite friendly. The beach area is nice, very small. We wont stay here again. You get what you pay for!

Can't wait to be back!

We had an amazing time at Sea Garden. Resort is small and cozy. I do like the proximity to everything, airport is 5 min. drive; beach, pool, restaurant - everything is close by. We stayed at Sandals, Negril for our honeymoon and honestly I prefer Sea Garden. First of all the price is very reasonable and this hotel has it's charm, feels like you moved in with Jamaican family and they take good care of you. Our room at Sandals was smaller than this one. The Beach - is absolutely beautiful, maybe a bit small, but it has quite a few little pockets that you can find your privacy. Main restaurant - went there for breakfast and dinner. Tried lunch once, but it did feel like they had a lot of leftovers from supper. Beach Grill - had our lunch there most of times. Cheeseburgers, fries, hotdogs were really good. Jerk chicken/pork - this starts around 1PM, worth waiting for, very tasty. Red Stripe beer, Spanish wines, cocktails with local rum/vodka are so good! Pool deli - tried pizza, wraps and of course Jamaican patties - the best we've ever tried (they have beef/chicken/veggie - all good). Breakfast - omelet station is a feature of the resort. You need to try. They also have freshly baked mini croissants, mini muffins, oat or cornmeal porridge every morning. Dinner - don't expect North American food. There will be no grilled steak there. But the variety is great. Even my 14 yo daughter who is a somewhat picky eater always found something to eat. Salads, fruits - here I wish there was more choices. The rest was more than enough. On Holy (Easter) Friday they even had roasted turkey. Beach / Night entertainment - enjoyed both. Some cons: TV didn't work for 3 days, cable was out in the whole resort. One day we had very low water pressure in our shower. On Friday night some locals were partying until 2 am, and the music was so loud. Sometimes service was a bit slow, but again, we're there, not here.. need to remember to take down a notch. Please tip, those people do work hard:) We will definitely be back!

Very loud, noise from construction and car a motor cycle. Safe are not use able in room!!! They can’t find keys. Very old building to be desired!!! Lock on windows and doors not great. People an servicer are friendly. Beach very small. Food ok nothing to write about. I travel affair a bit and definitely would not make this my first choice.

The best all inclusive in Jamaica

Mike G on Apr 10, 2024

The facility first of all is very conveniently located next to the Mo Bay airport, the hotel is very clean staff is super helpful and polite. If any issue offers it’s solved instantly, price is very competitive as well for an all inclusive. This will be my go to accommodation when I am in Jamaica next.

Lacks communication

Kelley A on Apr 09, 2024

My stay at the Sea Garden Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, was a mixed bag, leading me to rate it 3.5 stars. On the positive side, the resort boasts a beautiful beachfront that is nothing short of breathtaking. The variety of drinks available was impressive, and the buffet offered authentic Jamaican dishes that were absolutely delicious. I found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable, and the beach entertainment provided by Country and Smiley was both enjoyable and engaging. Additionally, the service in the dining hall was commendable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure guests were satisfied. However, my experience was marred by a few negatives that impacted the overall quality of my stay. The layout of the resort was confusing, and there was a noticeable lack of orientation for new guests. My first interaction at the resort was less than ideal; the communication from the front concierge was sorely lacking. Upon our arrival, he took our bags, left them at the door, and vaguely gestured for us to check in. There was no guidance provided, and after check-in, the concierge was nowhere to be found, leaving us to navigate the complex layout on our own. This confusion was exacerbated when he, out of nowhere, started yelling at us for not hearing his call an interaction that was both startling and unwelcoming. Despite these setbacks, the merits of the resort, its cleanliness, quality of food and drink, entertainment, and dining hall service contribute to its strengths and I would return for another stay. With improvements in guest orientation and front desk communication, the Sea Garden Resort has the potential to offer a much more pleasant and seamless experience to its visitors.
