    Great staff and convenient location

    Just returned from three nights at this property. Every staff member we came in contact with so so friendly! Anything we wanted to do outside of the hotel was only minutes away so it was an easy drive or an inexpensive Uber ride. We spent at least an hour or so each night having a drink and a bite at the grill in the lobby. Sue the bartender was a highlight of our trip! She was so sweet and gave us great recommendations. We will definitely visit this property again.

    Every time I stay at this hotel it just gets worse and worse, its really a shame. In 2018, the hotel was going through refurbishment (so they said) so the on-site restaurants weren't serving food and the pool was closed. In 2019, I had 2 separate reservations that they couldn't merge together, so I had to move rooms in the middle of my stay, not to mention that the parking gates were open the entire time and they still made me pay for parking. This year, COVID, all the restaurants were closed, room service wasn't being offered, there was blood on the duvet in my room when I first got there, and on top of that, the parking gates were left open AGAIN and I was STILL charged for parking. I've stayed here in October for HHN at Universal, and its been convenient, and am a Hilton Honors member, but this will be the last year that I stay here because it's just been unacceptable. I definitely would not recommend. I was not offered an upgrade and there were no breakfast options for gold members.

    This hotel offered exactly what was expected, especially considering covid precautions. Despite previous reviews we found all staff and guests to be wearing masks and people were noticeably social distanced when waiting for the elevator or in the lobby. People were very reluctant to share an elevator with others even though precaution signs limited the elevator to 2 parties in one elevator. We knew there would not be daily cleaning and honestly, it made the stay a little less hectic. We totally understood their reasoning. We also had a Keurig coffee maker in our room. We enjoyed the breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe but they were seriously understaffed. Our kids eat very simple breakfast and we usually were in a hurry to walk to Universal and the staff was fast and efficient! We would have been interested in taking the free shuttle bus but the desk was never staffed late and it had to be reserved in advance. Since we weren't returning from the parks until 6:30 or later we never had a chance to reserve the shuttle. Desk staff were friendly and professional and gave us more cookies when we asked for them :) Overall, if you aren't staying at a Universal Property, this is the next best thing in terms of location. Would definitely stay here again.

    The Hotel is using COVID as an excuse not to perform room service. If room service is about keeping the rooms clean why would you clean less? It makes no sense whatsoever. Also the room key wasn’t working and they tried to make us do the line for checking again to fix a problem with their room. We have stayed at this hote previously without issues but now that Covid is around we have to accept lesser service?! Everything cannot be blamed on COVID-19. I hope the hotel executives realize they will loose loyal customers over something so dumb.

    I have stayed at this hotel twice, and I think it is very good. Especially for the reasonable price. I liked it better before covid, but I still think they are doing very well. There is no breakfast buffet anymore, but there is a pretty good selection of breakfast items to order from a menu (gold and diamonds get 50% off, I had a huge breakfast for around 10 dollars every day) I find the staff to be extremely friendly, and yes there are some younger people here partying a bit at night, but I think that just adds to the atmosphere, and is to be expected og such a big hotel in this location. People come here to have fun. I would say it is also a very good hotel to bring kids. The rooms are big and spacious, the bedws are nice., and the pool area is VERY good. Larrge swimming pool, smaller pool and a spa kind of pool, and a very nice surrounding area. You can walk to Universal Studios in 5-10 minutes, I found that so convenient I didn´t even use the shuttle, and it is a very nice walk. Beautiful landscaping along the paths, especially if you venture into the parks by crossing through the “Hard Rock Hotel” pathways. Everything you need is within walking distance. There are many restaurants and fastfood places, a Walgreens pharmacy and a huge shopping area with outlet stores of all kinds just 5 minutes away. I think this hotel has a very reasonable price/features ballance. I would stay there again for sure
