Called in to get more info to compare the offers that they had vs. another resort I was interested in as urged by an online agent... I was overwhelmed by the sales pitchy young man "Kyle" who could not get enough of the phrase "Go ahead and..." I should have known better right then... Reluctantly AFTER he promised me updated rooms, (which was a task in itself to get him to understand I wanted an UPDATED room not upgraded) and a not so pressured preview as mentioned by other reviewers... It was AFTER the fact I was informed that the the necessary Preview was going to be held in the middle of the day of THE ONLY day that we would visit the Parks..Not to mention them delving and asking VERY personal information, shortly after, I received a text of a very disappointing personal review of a friend who recently stayed there and warned me NOT TO BOTHER. When I expressed how annoyed I was and the fact this was NOT told to me PRIOR to them getting my card info, it was TOO LATE. They already charged me, I requested to cancel for now, until I had the opportunity to review my options elsewhere and was told I would get a call back by a sales manager by the name of " Liz" by a young lady called "Tianne"... It has officially been 2 hours, when I made the follow up call I was transferred by a lady who says she does not have direct extensions to a "Rewards Line" which is probable imaginary.... I finally got someone on the phone for the second time who is rushing to "transfer" me after confirming that I wished to cancel. DO NOT waste your time and efforts... I was attempting to save a few bucks since I was treating my daughter and her friend on a quick vacay for her 16th birthday, but it so far with this company has been a complete nightmare and we DIDN'T even stay there!!

This 3 night trip was for me and my very frail mother. Our room was a king bed and sleeper sofa. There was a very nice lanai that was screened in and had an entrance out there. The bathroom was huge with a shower and jetted tub. You also have a kitchenette. The resort is right off of I4. We did not use any of the pools or other amenities. The bed was firm but I liked it. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars is the parking situation. We have a handicap placard but could never park close. I would defintely stay here again. They did try to get me to attend the welcome breakfast but i said no thank you and was let go. Not pushy at all. Oh and the wifi was good for us the whole time.

I booked this place due mainly to it claiming to be a 4 star hotel, and also because of its convenient location. There is a Walmart right up the street, and you can drive to Universal Studios without ever getting onto I-4. The problems started after check in. I drove to my room in the 500 bldg only to find it to be a large construction zone, with zero parking. I parked 3 buildings away and hiked to the room with all of my stuff in tow. This was a Wednesday, so no weekend crowds were here so there was no excuse for the lack of parking. The next morning at 7am sharp we were subjected to the rude awaking of bulldozers and bobcats literally 20 feet from my back porch sliding doors. This lasted all day until 5:30pm. The hot water was also shut off for 4 hours to replace a water heater. I realize they have no control over a broken water heater but it just compounded our already bad day so far. After we returned from the park, we requested a room change, which was granted. I was expecting to be having a conversation with the hotel manager, but I guess I wasn't important enough for her to approach us and speak to us about how they put us smack dab in the middle of their ongoing construction project, Typical. Next we moved to another room in a completely different area Bldg 1900.I noticed there were no bags for the ice bucket, and I could smell exactly what the next room was cooking and could hear most of the activity going on due to the paper thin walls of the room. That night it was 48 degrees due to a cold front, I turned on the shower, and surprise, no hot water. I was disgusted at this point. My wife and I both took ice cold showers just so we could go to bed without moving all of our stuff a 3rd time. The next day, still no hot water! So we packed all of our stuff and left a day early. We planned on leaving the next morning, but with no hot water and outside temps in the 50's again we left that night and drove home 3hrs so we could just shower and sleep in our own beds. Trust me, if I'm taking the time to write this take my advice and skip this one. I've stayed in many 4 star Hotels in the Orlando area, many, and this place is nowhere near 4 stars, giving this place that rating is laughable. Rest assured I will NEVER step foot on this property again.

This place is horrible. There is a dog barking in the room Across the hall. A kid coughing in the room next to me. We can hear ALL OF it every night there is no parking. We have to park a mile away from our room with 15$ a day in resort fees you should not Have to walk six buildings Over to ur room. The entire hotel smells like drugs. The said someone would come “ investigate “ the dog barking..... no one ever showed up and the manager refused to get on the phone

I have been here for 8 months on business, and I can safely say that Westgate Lakes has the WORST wifi I have ever had at a hotel. I have waited 15 mins just for a webpage to load. Multiple calls to their "IT" department, with promises to fix connection speeds have had no benefit. During the week, it can be tolerable, but still not great, but on the weekends it is almost impossible to do anything on a computer or even my phone over wifi.
