Lovely Stay

Entertainment staff was friendly and engaging, Mario and Maria took good care of us by the pool. The pool bar staff were quick and fun. My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay, the cantina bar staff always made sure we had a drink in our hands. Jesus treated us extra special at the snack bar for lunch and staff was always friendly. Security was kind and helpful when I had my wallet stolen from our room even though I was unable to find it.

Overall stay was good, big shout out to CESAR LOPEZ in the premium lounge. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made a mean cocktail. Thanks again Cesar it was a pleasure meeting you. If you must purchase premium I would, just for him. He made it worthwhile.
The Worst Resort I have Ever Been To

There were 12 in our group and 6 people got sick from food poisoning. My wife was so sick, she had to be rushed to the hospital. That was a $15,000 CDN visit. Lucky I had travel insurance which should cover most of it. The food contamination issue is so bad, that it is a common talking point amongst guests that we met at the resort. Based on the reviews, this has been going on for quite some time. The food is pretty bland to begin with, but there is something going wrong in the kitchen. It appears to be lack of training in proper food handling procedures and lack of supervision in the kitchen. How else can something like this continue for months. Our vacation was ruined as my wife was sick for 3 days in total (which includes the 2 day stay in the hospital). She was placed on antibiotics and could not longer have a drink and had to stick to very bland food for the rest of the trip. They advertise free WIFI, but it only works about 5% of the time. The resort is nestled between 2 mountains and their equipment appears to be inadequate to handle this situation. We also purchased the Premium Package which was a complete waste of money. The only things you got were the ability to make reservations for more than just the current day but you still had to wait in the lineup for all the guests, 10% off in the store and some premium alcohol. There was no premium level check-in and check-out, there was no exclusive concierge service and the Premium Level Lounge was a bit of a morgue that also had the same bland food. Staff were generally pretty good, but some were unfriendly. This is an older building that comes at a good price point, but it is definitely not worth it. They also have a bug problem (black flies or something) that will keep you scratching days after you return home. I confronted the senior manager on site about my issues but just received a bunch of blah, blah, blah. If you are going to gamble on this place, make sure you bring plenty of bug spray, ensure you have travel medical insurance and consider eating off the resort.

This place exceeded our imaginations! We had a premium level 2 bedroom family suite which was huge and clean. The food was good and consistent and the pools nice and clean and the staff amazing. A special shout out to Ceasar the man that looks after the premium lounge. When he heard it was out daughters birthday the next day he had an amazing chocolate cake made by his wife and balloons on the table. It really made her day. Even the check in was painless and very easy and informative. We can't wait for the next trip here!
