    Exceptional Staff

    We traveled to this resort for Spring Break with 2 additional families and had the best time!! With 6 boys ranging from 14-19 we had a blast with the entertainment staff. We kayaked, played beach volleyball, hit some tennis balls, the boys played due hoops ad rode bikes (probably longer than we planned-but it was awesome). In the evenings the live music to enjoy the sunset and a cocktail before heading to dinner was a beautiful moment to exhale and appreciate the experience. Marco and Diego were amazing! Always there to make sure we were having a great time and willing to pick up a ping pong paddle, spike it in pool volleyball or laugh with us when a rogue wave tackled us from behind. Don't miss the fish tacos at the grill! Our whole group had an amazing trip and are already talking about going back.

    This resort property is a must visit. Could not have felt more safer during covid at this property. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your safety. The rooms are spectacular and ocean facing with balcony. The price of all inclusive is worth it out here. The pools are so well laid out that you never feel lack of space or privacy. Located right on a beautiful beach that seems very private. The food is absolutely delicious. The breakfast and lunch is loaded with choices for all diets. There is also a restaurant with a more casual menu. You can order food and drinks to be served anywhere on the property. The evening dining at any of their restaurants was incredible with a great choice of wines....all included! Need to stay here to believe the amazing quality this place has to offer. The hotel is maintained superbly along with very beautiful landscaping. There is live music every night outside their bar which is so classy from the inside! The resort staff is incredible plus you have a personal concierge for all needs which was very helpful. Extremely well managed and maintained property and definitely worth a visit! This has been the best resort property we have stayed until now. Thank you to all who made this visit incredible!!

    After a year hiatus due to Covid 19 we were able to fulfill our yearly trip to Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. We were there for the 2021 Easter/Holy week. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by their ever-attentive staff. It is said that the best customer service is proven when tested with an unforeseen problem. Fernando, the reception manager handled a situation we came across in a very professional manner and his resolution could not have made us any happier. From that moment on it was 14 days in paradise. I will first start by saying that the administration has taken all the necessary steps to make us feel very safe regarding Covid 19 during our stay. The grounds are immaculate and are constantly attended by crews. Every employee greets you and looks at you in the eye with a big smile and makes it a point to stop and exchange a few words and to ask if you need anything. The rooms are kept clean and stocked with whatever your request. Our concierge, Daniela, made sure to always make our reservations for the restaurants and she helped us with any need we had. She was instrumental on setting up the Covid testing 3 days before returning to the US. The pools are gorgeous and sparkling clean and the beach is a couple of steps off the infinity pool. There are plenty of cabanas and chairs by the beach and around the pool. Servers are constantly patrolling the area and they are quick at taking your order and delivering it. They memorize what you like and keep a constant flow going. I want to mention here Nadia and Daniel for standing out in their professionalism and constant attention to our needs. The gym has anything you need for every muscle group and Eliezer makes sure to keep everything clean and sanitized. He is always ready to lend a hand and he is constantly offering towels and water to the guests using that facility. Diego in the activities and entertainment department was a presence ever felt. Something that caught our attention was how all the kids love him and come and hug him good by at the end of their stay. That speaks a lot to us. Every morning at Azul, Fidel and Ricardo makes sure you start your day right. They remember our preferences and have them ready as soon as we arrive. A dirty plate or cup does not stay on the table more than a couple of minutes before they pick them up and glasses never go empty. At Khoi bar Itzel continues to rule. She has known us for years now and it is always great to catch up with her. She is courteous and professional, and she keeps your favorite drinks going while we enjoy the always great shows offered every night. This year our favorite restaurants were Piaff and Sin Lin. We could not get enough of their food. Conrado is another one of those people that stood out for their friendliness and constant attention. However, when it comes to service, no one beats Francisco Villa AKA “Pancho Villa”. He makes sure you are taken care of and happy. One person that always brought amusement, wonder and laughs was Spyder The Magician. He honestly needs to be in Las Vegas. His illusions are nothing short of phenomenal and he always left us scratching our heads for everything was happening right in front of our eyes and we still could not understand how it happened!! We would not be fair if we did not mention here Executive Chef Guillermo (Guille). What a delightful man! He will go and personally find whatever it is that you need for your food and everything he and chefs Wendy and Abigail make is always fantastic. Finally, I want to make a special mention. We have been regulars of this Resort for the last 12 years and we have always felt extremely comfortable every stay. This time however, that feeling reached new heights. I had in the past noticed a person whose job I could not ascertain because I saw her everywhere. I have seen her folding napkins, cleaning tables, serving as a host for some events. She is seen in the pool talking to the servers and in the grounds talking to the lawn keepers. She is also at the front in reception and pretty much anywhere you look. She truly is omnipresent. One afternoon I was sitting at Azul having desert with my daughter and she came to our table to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Turns out she is the Managing Director: Pilar Perciavalle. Now that we know her, we feel not only comfortable, but we feel at home. She truly is an amazing person and an incredible manager. I would hire someone like her in a heartbeat! I know there are a few other people whose names escape us, but they contributed to making this our best vacation yet. We want to thank all of you for your hard work and for being who you are. We cannot wait to be back to catch up with all of you. You guys continue to be the best!

    Beautiful Resort

    We had a great time relaxing in the pools, walking on the beach, eating great food, enjoying the spa and playing on property. Diego and Fern were awesome—so fun and entertaining. They did it all! They helped us organize volleyball, soccer, water basketball, tennis and water aerobics. They rocked!

    We have been fortunate to travel to Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit several times over the past 14 years. It is always my pleasure to reflect and write a few comments after returning home about the most recent trip and give recognition to a few of the individuals who helped make our trip so memorable. Grand Velas is a fabulous place, but I believe what really separates it from so many other nice places are the people who are part of the staff and work diligently to make your trip everything you hoped it would be. The standard of excellence they adhere to in every detail has never failed to exceed our expectations. The staff is extraordinary and it is amazing to watch each person do their job efficiently, promptly, with attention to detail, and with a great attitude. They make it very enjoyable to be a guest at the hotel and assure that you have a desire to return when the time comes to depart. The biggest reason we continue to return is because of this amazing staff. They work with great effort and pride to take care of every detail. Our first trip to Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit was in 2007. On all our trips since then, it is so nice to see people we met on that first trip in 2007 who are still employed there and know us by name. It is like going to visit old friends who make you feel comfortable and at home, yet at the same time having the opportunity to meet new people who are part of the same culture and commitment to excellence. The excellent service and standard of care begins with the reservations process before you arrive and continues until after you depart. It is impossible to single out one or two individuals who were exceptional because they all were part of a team that provides a superior experience as each person does their part. In reservations, we were assisted by Leonardo Ramirez, who was courteous, professional, and polite. He always followed through on what he said he would do, took care of special requests and details, and made dinner reservations for us before we departed from home. We was knowledgeable and very helpful. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Daniela and Maria, our concierge for the week. We worked with these two outstanding ladies on our last visit and they remembered us by name and stayed in close contact throughout the week keeping us informed of anything we needed to know. In the pool area, there are many - Nadia, Kenia, Toño, Jose, Daniel, Eleuth, Victor, Gilberto, Leonel, and others - who go the extra mile to provide great service with a positive attitude. In Azul, there is Fidel (who has been employed at Grand Velas for 19 years), Francisco, Alberto, Pablo, Ricardo, and more who serve as outstanding waiters. There are others who work more in the kitchen and food preparation who welcome you and greet you with a smile. I especially want to mention Luisa, Miriam, and Wendy with apologies that I don't know everyone's name. The evening restaurants are excellent and have great service from Hugo, Francisco, Oscar, Miguel, Jose, and others. We were also pleased to get to speak with Valeria who oversees food and beverage and remembered us from a previous visit and took time to stop and talk to be sure everything was going smoothly. There are other people around the hotel in roles which do not have as much interaction with hotel guests but continually do their jobs with great pride. Although they are always busy, they are never too busy to greet you when you pass with a hello, good morning, good afternoon, or good evening (usually spoken in Spanish). They do things like sweep and mop floors, clean windows, fold towels, water plants, clean your room, restock your snack tray or refrigerator, or clean elevators. A few of their names are Maria, Elizabeth, Claudia, Rosa, Esmeralda, Laura, Diana, and Ana. There are many more. They all play a part in making the whole experience excellent and in keeping the resort immaculate. Ever, Diego, and Marco are all engaging people who led various recreational activities during the day. They do a great job inviting participation while giving you freedom to be involved at the level you choose or not at all. They understood if you just preferred to relax or take a walk on the beach on your own. They were busy throughout the day with different activities in the pool and on the beach and made sure people who wanted to participate had the opportunity to do so. We appreciated their hard work and friendly personalities. I made a conscious effort on this trip to personally meet the general manager of the resort, Señora Pilar Perciavalle. I wanted to thank her for her assistance with our plans and tell her how much we enjoyed the team of people she has assembled and held together for many years. She was in a meeting when I asked to see her and I was told that she would find us by the pool when her meeting was over. As promised, she sought us out and sat down and visited for a few minutes. I know she is a very busy person and appreciated the time she took to get to know us. If there is a down side to visiting Grand Velas, it is the sadness you experience when you have to leave. This is a special place to rest, relax, renew, and rejuvenate. It is our hope to return again in the future to once again see some old friends and meet some new ones. If not, we have great memories that will last a lifetime of great food, incredible sunsets, inspirational people, and a standard of excellence that is unsurpassed.
