    We do not normally book All Inclusives as we tend to book a condo with most of our Mexican travel done on the west Coast. Booked Privelege Status at this resort and were not disappointed.     We booked this resort due to rave reviews on the food and beach, through Sunwing. Our flight was delayed on departure and arrival (not due to weather) and that was a big bummer but we were thankful just to have the week away. Though d departure delay of 4 hours, caused a cascade of alternating plans and our bus ride to the hotel took an extra hour so we lost more than half a day of the vacation. On arrival we didn’t get the room we requested but they accommodated us in the next couple of days and we were happy. The room itself was beautiful. There’s a standing shower and a bathtub which we loved because the shower is all we use and it had plenty room. Water pressure and temperature was great. Our second room had 2 double beds with 3 pillows each which were comfy and I appreciated having the extra pillows since I’m a side sleeper. We had a de-humidifier which was new for us. U have to empty the water that accumulates in order for the machine to work and that’s all. Haha. There was also a coffee maker but you’re only provided with coffee. Free safe, mini fridge restocked daily with beer, soft drinks and water and a steamer for clothes. The balcony light goes off at 10 pm and there’s no screen door. AC worked well. I think “Alberto”the bell man, who brought our bags on our first night was so kind and helpful. He helped us order room service pizza when we arrived to our room at midnight and was empathetic to the whole situation of our flight delay and not getting the room we asked for initially. Food- we tried the buffet, crepe restaurant, Route 66 (American), Sensai (Japanese), Los garisoles (Mexican) and L.A. Terazza (outdoor Italian). We loved all due to the variety, quality and service provided. Japanese was the only one we needed to make a reservation for and we loved the idea of just going wherever based on what we felt like eating other times. That’s a huge plus for the resort in my opinion. We had excellent service everywhere aside from one time I was getting pasta from a station at the buffet and the chef got upset with me because I didn’t know I needed to put my own pasta and give it to him to make, in fact I was trying to ask in English and perhaps he didn’t understand me, but I didn’t appreciate him practically throwing the plate at me and being rude about it. I did find that 70 percent of staff speak and understand English and others not really. The resort also has a coffee shop and an ice cream parlour which were great additions. The buffet itself had a smoothie bar, a waffle/crepe station, omelette, meat, breads, salad and fruit bar, panini press. Pools and Beach- this resort has 4 pools but we only used 2 and the beach itself. The pools are in superb condition and one had a swim up bar with daily activities and entertainment as well as a grill but we didn’t use that for food although I’ve seen people get burgers, fries and hot dogs. The beach itself is light and golden, soft sand and barely any seaweed. We saw guys raking up the seaweed and that was great. However the Ocean was dark blue, murky and it almost looked like the brown debris from seaweeds in it. It is also rocky upon entering so I would recommend water shoes. Our week unfortunately had only yellow and red flags due to rain and downpours. There was plenty of loungers and shaded huts at the beach prob due to most people being at the pools. Also Bali beds. They have a sectioned off privilege area with a waiter although the non-privileged guests had the service as well. This was great. The drinks were good but found them overly sweet. No straws at the resort so bring ur own if u must have one. The crepe restaurant by the privilege pool had amazing crepes. Entertainment- we only went to the fire show and did a pool aerobics class. Both were great. Trips/excursions- we did a free shopping trip to jewellery store, tequila store and playa del Carmen. I liked that you had numerous times of the day to book and to choose a return time. The jewellery store and tequila store are high pressure sales, u gotta be comfortable with saying no unless u really want something. We ended up buying salsa from tequila store and found out later that is was almost twice the price then at the playa del Carmen. However they had their own version of baileys that I was hesitant to buy due to price thinking I could get it cheaper and I wasn’t able to find that type anywhere after that so I lost out on that one. The free taxi picked us up 3 different times on this occasion and they were all great but I would budget for tips. I think the best place to exchange money would be playa del Carmen, as they have many places BUT bring at least some single US dollars or/and pesos because the resort barely had. We did the Isla Mujeres tour via sunwing at the resort. Paid 98$ US per person. This includes bento box type lunch. The taxi took us to the catamaran and we sailed for 40 min and stopped for optional snorkelling. Can also do 20 min of paddle boarding if interested. This was another bad weather day as it poured down hard while sailing so it wasn’t that enjoyable. The workers on the boat were very helpful and friendly but due to the rain, they took my lunch to help me get inside and I never seen it again. Also they had a “personal photographer”. That means not with your camera but their own and the pics cost money. The beach here is turquoise with no seaweed and we spent the allotted 3 hours there with our negotiable price loungers and an umbrella, that also gave us access to a close bathroom if needed. There’s lots of shopping and people coming up to u to sell u stuff. Golf carts are rentable for cost to tour the small island. There was also a bar seating area we coulda stayed at while waiting for the catamaran. The thing I noticed everywhere we went is that you’re asked if there are any allergies or food restrictions. This is very thoughtful. Even at teppanayaki style, Japanese restaurant, they had made tofu separately for a vegan person and put no eggs in the stir fry. Also accommodated chicken only for me and the food was delicious. As well as entertainment by the chef got u energized in case u were half asleep haha. -The store at the resort has everything but really pricey -our rep was hardly to be found or reached via phone partly due to inconsistent information by service desk which was annoying. The rep had only talked to us about excursions and we wished he did more -it was really annoying not to be able to get smaller change anywhere on the resort in order to tip -NO umbrellas in room and it rained all week with all their hallways being open so it was wet all around - thank goodness we brought our powdered milk and sweetener because there was none provided and this I can’t understand. Some people like to have coffee before they leave their room. My recommendation would be to add those things and an umbrella -we got different information three times when we called to ask about something for room service. Consistency would be good - they have a teenager section with video games, music instruments and a bowling alley. This is very cool and I was told adults could use it but teens get priority. Fair enough Overall this was a very relaxing vacay just wish we woulda had more sun then half a day from our whole week and that the ocean was clean and turquoise but that’s nature and it was still a good experience :) We would return but directly to playa del Carmen or Isla Mujeres

    Fabulous Hotel

    This beautiful hotel has everything to offer. It is pristinely kept by all the staff. The entertainment was fantastic during the day and evenings. We had the Privilege package and enjoyed first class service, especially from the staff who looked after guests outside in the daytime around the pool. Special credit to Jose Luis Cen, the beach Concierge for very attentive service. He was always willing to accommodate with a cheerful smile and to Richie, for the bar service he so swiftly and willingly provided, also with a smile. These small things always make a difference to a holiday. Keep up the good work and standards.

    I wish everybody to know I had the best vacationes I could imagine, I went there with my family for a week and I was simply amazing, the pool bar is the right place to have fun, I liked the resort it is beautiful but what I love the most was the Mexican Restaurant, I ate there the first night and I just didn’t want to try another one until they were closed, and we did try the steak house and it was very good as well, but you can notice the difference between one and another since the moment you arrive at the Mexican you can see a big smile waiting for you, our server, Ismael was amazing he did everything to make us feel a Mexican experience, we had sombreros and tequila , and what can I say about the food? Is was great the chef Daniel prepare us some fish tacos and Tex mex fajitas taking special care about every detail, and then the cherry on the cake, the manager her name is Luisa, she is such a beautiful lady, you could see it in her smile, she seems to enjoy what she does, she is always smiling and going up and down with everything and just making you feel welcome, so we definitely will come back again for summer. Thnx a lot guys.

    The Bad. The rotating restaurant closures were annoying and don't fall for the Privilege Upgrade. The Butlers are NOT dependable, and when asked to do something are late or they are totally unavailable. The creperie does not serve pizza as listed in many brochures, and there seems to be supply chain issues with menu items not available. The "entertainment" is sub par, and we think there is a bowling alley. They need to monitor the Adults Only pool. If they want to party go to the main pool, where the bar and Dj are. How many times do you have to say "No Mas" to the vendors around the pool before they leave you alone? The exterior lights turn off around 10PM and it gets dark. Being on the edge of the jungle and they warn you about potential crocodiles on the resort, it would be nice to see one coming at you! Yes there is a Crocodile warning sign on the resort! We contacted the hotel before we left and asked if they accepted Amex they don't in the gift shop and you can't sign anything to your room. Now the Good! The Regular Staff are great! This resort is VERY wheelchair accessible and there are elevators (although small) and the walkways aren't very bumpy. The resort is clean and the beds comfy and the rooms have no musty smell. Mike's Coffee is very good. The Gift Shop really wasn't badly priced but you will pay more than in town. Sunscreen is expensive! Seaweed on the beach was not that bad. This resort is extremely LGBTQ and family friendly. We would return.
