We stayed at the Sunset Vistas before, about ten years ago and decided to go back as we were in Treasure island for one night only. We had forgotten how lovely it was. We were given a two bedroom apartment with two terraces facing in different directions, to follow the sun, comfortable beds and all the amenities you could need.(I was even able to do a little laundry in the washing machine and dryer) The apartment, like the rest of the premises, was spotlessly clean and the location, right on the beach, couldn't be beaten. The members of staff we encountered were friendly and courteous, added to a Tiki Bar just off the beach... What's not to like? .. Thank you Sunset Vistas... We will return. ??

    Enjoyable stay (mostly)

We have just returned home after 8 days at the Sunset Vista. We were in 405 and had an allocated parking space which was very convenient. Our condo was fairly spacious for the 5 of us and our only issue was the cleanliness could of been better. The refrigerator had dirty stains outside and in, and when we made up the sofa bed the sheet was covered in dirty marks but a clean one was brought up to us after we complained. There were also crumbs on floor and dirty mark's in both bathrooms. Despite this we did enjoy our stay as the location on the beach and near St. John's Pass was excellent. Plenty of space around the pool and always sunbeds available. We would of liked to see the bar open a bit more than it was and maybe more lighting around it but the lady behind bar was very friendly and helpful.

    Awful drinks at tiki bar

Hotel was perfect. The staff were all super friendly, room clean, bed super comfortable. We had a side room but could still see plenty of ocean. Beautiful view. Our complaints were as follows... cafe was super slow mostly because it seems they were understaffed. The food was just ok. Housekeeping accidentally took my beach sheet. Never got it back but it was an honest mistake. Our biggest biggest complaint was the tiki bar. The drinks are below sub par. The is plenty to choose from but it seems to be all prebottled mixers. 2 drinks were 19.00!!! My pina colada was watery ice slush with rum. I couldn't taste the coconut or the pineapple. We claimed to the hotel to try to get our money back but were told they don't own the tiki bar and it's privately owned. They gave me owners number. She called the next day right after we checked out. She asked why were didn't just return the drinks for new ones. Honestly we didn't think to do that. My bf bought them and I drank half of it when I commented I hope u didn't pay alot for these... he said 19. I said WHAT???? the owner then commented that they only use the finest ingredients. Lol im sorry but unless you use cream of coconut and real pineapple juice it's not the finest ingredients! It all flavoring with alcohol. It tasted like those flavor ice tubes you freeze. Not good for 19 dollars. She didn't refund our money. Bad customer service on her part. Shame on her.

We loved our stay and will definitely return. The beach is beautiful and the condo was perfect for us. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a gulf view room where we could sit on the balcony and watch the sunset.

Considering the cost, the amenities and quality of the rooms were great!

Stayed at the Sunset Vistas with my son, a friend and her daughter from August 23 – August 27. The kids are both 8 years old. We had a great time. I wouldn't want to stay here with my significant other as a romantic trip, it's more family oriented. Check-in was quick. We had an uncovered assigned parking space and an apartment on the fourth floor. You could see the beach from the room and it was nice, but it definitely was not ocean front. The condo was spacious and clean. Of course, it wasn’t as clean as I keep my house, but we got a great deal on Travelzoo and for the accommodations you couldn’t beat it. The dryer was a nice feature. Kitchenware was clean and we cooked each day or made sandwiches. The bathtub in the Master got clogged up towards the end of our stay. The 2nd bedroom was tight, but it was better than sharing a room in a hotel. We were steps away from the beach. The pool was very relaxing, but almost too small. At times it seemed a little too congested. I liked that it stayed open until 10 p.m., it made the kids feel like they were so grown up for being up and out so late. The beach was nice. The water was clear but green, and pretty warm. The ice cream shop on the corner was not all that everyone raved about. We got better ice cream further up the strip. We had an issue with my friend’s bag – she locked her luggage and left the key home in VA. The maintenance guy came over for another issue but was able to get her bag open which was such a relief. The courtyard area was very beautiful and pleasant on our walks to the pool. The only strange thing was that there was a possum hanging out by the pool on our first night. Scared the mess out of me!
