Be watchful of people trying to sell you tours on the resort!!!

The resort was dated, but I felt that it gave it character for it's location. I enjoyed the staff, and they were mostly helpful. The food was monotonous, with little to no change each day. The drinks were o.k., for what was available, but there was limited selection on mainstream liquor and beer. I felt this was to be expected given an all- inclusive. The night time entertainment consisted of a couple of ladies singing Karaoke. They did sound nice, and I'm not taking anything from them, but I expected a little more entertainment. Other residents at the resort we met, we asked if they were going to stay up to celebrate with some music, they told me there will not be no celebrating at night, and you will see why, and I did. A high point was the piano player at night, in the piano bar. He was really good and lively, and did a superior job!! Also, there was air conditioning in the piano bar which added a plus. The down point was the people the resort allowed to hang around trying to get over on guests. I say allow, because I see another review was addressed about Steve, but the management answered everything but that issue. Being a guest there it's hard to distinguish who is a part of the resort trying to offer services. Steve approached me and offered a tour, whereas the price was decent. He didn't tell me that we would be going in his broken down car. He said he had a van, which he didn't, and he put up a fuss when we asked for a refund. After this experience I was told by another guest that he was an issue, and to beware! You would think he had an official business by his receipt pad, but buyer beware! This type of business I feel makes the whole resort look bad, and they are not even employed by them. For this point, it really puts a bad taste in your mouth with the resort and the island, giving you a very uneasy feel, possibly thinking this type of thing is tolerated on the island.
A place that grew on me the longer I stayed

We didn't have the best start on arrival here. Our room had been downgraded from the beach front suite we had booked so we were told not to unpack our case first night as we would most likely move next day. We were very disappointed, not to mention the night we got there the entertainment wasn't great and dinner was buffet. The next day we saw the rep and various hotel staff and were moved to the room we booked and we loved it. The views were amazing. After that we were given a free spa treatment each (they were amazing by the way), we had champagne brought to our room and we were given resort credit to compensate for the first evening. The next night dinner was a la carte and we really enjoyed the sunset restaurant. Lovely setting and great food. Enid's restaurant also had good food but we only tried it once because the setting wasn't great. It would benefit from much better lighting. The general manager was great. She was always checking how we were and ensuring everyone had a good stay. We tried all the bars and restaurants and most of the staff were great and really friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed at the lack of beach front setting. The tides were high and most days there was no access to beach. When the tide was slightly out we could cut across to Sandy lane beach. We ventured out a few times and went to some amazing restaurants. With only 2 on offer here I would have got bored otherwise. We also ventured out to a few beaches. I would say the age group of the hotel was too old for us. Reminded me more of a Saga holiday and the entertainment etc was catered accordingly. However the location is great and we do like to get out to other places anyway so that was fine. Drinks were good quality and branded spirits, the piano bar was a great setting but the music let it down, the daytime musicians were great. Lots of positives just a few things not quite as I would have wanted
A Relaxing Stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Feb! We enjoyed the break from our midwestern winter, with the warm climate and ocean breezes. By far, there were two SHINING STARS of The Club Barbados: The delicious food and the staff. The food was excellent with a good variety and selection at the buffets as well as when ordering from the menu. When we asked to speak with the chef to compliment his work, he was so humble and appreciative of the feedback. Healthy, delicious choices at every meal. Well done! The Number 1 asset of The Club is its staff, from the servers in the restaurants, wonderful omelet station workers, fun bartenders, housekeeping staff, front desk folks, and workers at the extremely clean pools. I wish I had written down more names, but these folks really made our stay exceptional: Mia, AngelAnne, Tiffany, Adrielle in the dining room, Laurent, Talia and Teo at the front desk and so many others whose names I neglected to jot down. One suggestion that I'd read in another review before we left: Bring an extension cord, as some of the bathrooms do not have an outlet. Our rooms were very clean and the housekeeping folks were attentive and so friendly. We would stay here again!
Good hotel, excellent staff and a fair price

The staff at The Club Barbados Resort are the main stars of this hotel, so a huge thanks to everyone there. From the moment we arrived the porter, David and the receptionists made us feel welcome by greeting us with a rum punch - these little things matter a great deal when you've just had a long journey. The Hotel's situated in an excellent position, just 8 mins walk to Holetown centre with a good selection of shops and bars. Our room 120 was a good size with balcony and loungers, near to the sea front, swimming pools and ocean front restaurant. Yes, the decoration in the bathroom was a little tired, as other reviewers have said but we were very happy there for 10 days. Decent hairdryers are supplied - not just the prehistoric ones generally glued to the wall. Plus a good iron and ironing board. Food in the main restaurant and the cocktail bars were all excellent, without exception. We did book to go to Enid's but sadly after waiting 20 mins to be seated and then finally being shown to a dark corner in a half filled restaurant, we decided to leave and went back to the Ocean Front Restaurant and took some beautiful sunset photos. Tips Take two pin round adapters if visiting from the UK for computers, phones etc Do try the water aerobics ( very entertaining staff ) much better than any I've come across in the UK. The brisk morning walks at 8:30 are well worth doing to get a good idea of the area. Big thanks to the Fitness team, Geraldine, Adam and Alisha ( sorry if I got your name wrong ) No, there isn't a beach as stated but at low tide you can get to the other soft sandy beaches either side of this hotel ( no one has exclusive rights to the beaches in Barbados ) We hope the following will be viewed as constructive criticism by the Hotel Managers: It's mostly impossible to get a sun bed, unless you get up at 6:15 am because they're already reserved with towels, books etc seemingly regardless of anyone actually using them throughout the day. This is a general hotel problem and I don't know what hotels can do to cure it? We enjoyed all the evening entertainment, but didn't understand why a brilliant saxophonist and guitar player had been booked for the dance floor section only to be drowned out by a few residents watching American football on a loud, big screen, right next to them. We thought it was just pointless, annoying and plain rude to the musicians. Coat hangers in wardrobe were very difficult to use properly as they are the thief proof type, but the ones that are impossible to move and use properly. Bathroom sink top, was heavily scuffed and really needed replacing which was a shame because it left that whole room look sad, but these points were all small and easily ignored in comparison to the many good points we enjoyed there.
A great stay at The Club Barbados

We had a great 2 week stay here Feb/march 24. It’s in a good location , 20 minutes walk from Holetown, plenty of buses about. We liked the sunset restaurant, good choice of food for the 3 meals a day. The bars and choice of drinks were good, particularly liked the sea front bar with Sophia and Kareen serving. Our room was okay ( bathroom needs updating though) The pool areas were great with very nice and well kept gardens. There was no issue with sun beds, my favourite place was the sun beds looking out to sea. There is no Sandy beach here, but you don’t need to walk far to beautiful beaches. I like our beach front as you could walk down a few steps into the sea( a bit rocky here so bring beach shoes ) great for snorkelling and the included water sports. The entertainment was good, nice music, good for dancing, piano bar opens 11pm til 2pm again good music and dancing . The general manager Caroline was great with interacting with the guests and helping out with any issues. All in all a great holiday here and would return here as do most of the guests .
