Stayed in a club room (probably the cheapest room at Royal Barbados). The room is brilliant, loved it (in fact our whole party thought the rooms were the best). The only issue with the room was the servicing. We had no problem but two out of the four couples had issues getting the room cleaned and new towels delivered - and I know that this is a small issue to some, but when you’ve had a busy day out and you get back and the room still needs being picked up and you don’t have a clean towel to shower with, it then becomes a PAIN. Out of the seven nights this happened to them on 4 different days, and this was the reason I decided on 4 stars for this location. This wasn’t our first Sandals and the Royal has a lot to do to catch up with Sandals SouthCoast. Concierge could also have stepped their game up... you see because we are repeat Sandals customers, we know what the best can do. There were no dressing gowns in our room, we had no invitation to the returnee dinner, no invitation to the managers cocktail party. Look all this is small stuff but it does add up. The food however was the DOGS BOLLOCKS!!!! We did not have a bad meal - service was on point and the food was great, the best. We ate at the Indian, sushi, Italian, French ... we even had dinner at the Merry Monkey, where Jack couldn’t do enough to make our dinner just right. We also loved the staff ... Charmaine is the best manager there and loves the job she does and it shows. I arrived with a cold and lost my voice. She made me from scratch ginger tea, she was amazing. Omar and Reshaun at the swim up bar are a credit to the Sandals brand - loved them. FUN FUN FUN. All in all it was a great week ... we’re booked for St. Lucia in 2021 and already counting down.

We got married at Sandals Royal Caribbean and private Island Jamaica and had the most amazing and memorable experience. I’ve talked very highly of Sandals ever since. We have staid at other all inclusive resorts since then and have been disappointed. I’m sad to say that this resort was below standard in many ways. If this is your first time staying at Sandals you probably wouldn’t know the difference and would recommend it when comparing other all inclusive. But you pay way more at Sandals to have the over the top experience. The positive was it was beautiful. Darren at the American restaurant was consistently amazing. The Indian restaurant was great. The Japanese restaurant was awesome. Now with that said, most of the staff were average, not over the top friendly. It was more of a job than making a huge impression. The drinks were weak and special selection of creative drinks low. Entertainment was lame whereas the RC and private island you had a lot more including local high school band, Steele Drums, Dancers and all the stuff you see on TV. On the Barbados side the swim up pool bar had the best bartenders with great attitudes! The roof top bar was a big bust, I would stand in line for 5 minutes or more before the bartender would look at me. It just felt like unless you had a butler and spent twice as much you weren’t important. The swim up room with soaking tub was nice and we enjoyed the room but upon checking in NO LIQUOR and no pool towels. So you call for these and wait hours for them to bring it to your room and you go get your own pool towels... seriously. Your order more beer to the room and it’s hot. You expect to arrive with a drink and relax and not requesting everything. So we literally get to our rooms and can’t relax and now onto speaking with Dexter and getting reservations for our anniversary dinner...Nope not a single reservation available for any night during our four night stay!!! Okay......hmmm. What’s out the FREE/Snorkeling excursion...No availability the entire stay...... WTF!!!!!! You spend all this money, come all this way and start your vacation with frustration. Thanks to Sandals and their inability to staff I had to spend 300 bucks off site to do the Submarine tour of the reef which was the BEST time and will get a 5+ star on Trip Advisor. So I speak to the manager and we get book at ONE of the restaurants Chi for Friday night at 9pm. The next day we complained more and were given 8:30 reservations for the Japanese and Butches a steakhouse for 8:30. Thanks now we can miss the main entertainment that’s 9-10...awesome way to spend your anniversary. So screw it you go and relax in your room and the tub and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound night. Fans in both inside the room and outside only can be set to one speed because anything higher than low causes the fan motor make noises. Nothing like be in the tranquility tub and not being able to relax. So we call maintenance and instead of fixing the real issue, the fans! They change out the wall switch. If we ever go back, I think the standard for the Sandals is Jamaica. The price for Jamaica is much more reasonable and more flight options.

I visited this sandals property in October. Arrival was smooth greeted with a cocktail. Room was club level and was beautiful , lived up to my expectations . The many pools were all beautiful and lots of empty beds throughout the day and you could collect towels from all the pools. The gym was good quality with cardio and weight options, also different classes throughout the day. The restaurants on the property were varied and we visited most of them. This is where I was disappointed . The food was limited for vegetarians and I asked on several occasions for the chef to amend something on the menu, and unfortunately they declined. The food was often cold and had to be returned , especially at the french restaurant . Butches was by far the best restaurant and we loved eating here. The Merry monkey the English pub did not have any draft English beer, which I though was pretty poor. Although my review does have some negatives it was still a beautiful place to visit and the staff at the bars and in some of the restaurants were fabulous. A special mention to michael the aqua aerobics instructor , he was so much fun and made the sessions fun. It was by far the best part of my holiday . Would I return ? Probably , but only if the issues at the restaurants were rectified .

My wife and I chose Sandals Royal Barbados for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend the butler suite if you can swing it. Our butler staff of Shawn, Benita and Krystal was absolutely fantastic and that particular aspect would get 5/5 stars. They were an all star cast and made sure we were taken care of. They became more like family. If anyone reading this is in upper management they all deserve a big raise because whatever you’re paying them isn’t enough. They are a valuable part of your team. Almost every employee on the resort was friendly and the pools were fantastic. The infinity pool is definitely more of a party atmosphere and the seven seas is more reserved and laid back so choose accordingly. I think anyone who has a bad time here has to put in an effort to do so. The food options were fantastic. Chi restaurant was my wife’s personal favorite while Butch’s was mine. The only reason we wouldn’t give this a 5/5 is the rooms and maid service. The rooms are nice and definitely serve their purpose. Our shower was a bit dirty and the towel rack in was hanging out of the drywall. One day we had to ask 3 times for room service. Each time our butlers went and requested this with the maid staff finally complying after our butlers took a direct approach. Not sure how long we would have been waiting for more towels had we not had our butlers taking care of us. Overall we were satisfied and very much enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend to honeymooners and if you can swing it, definitely go the butler route. We will be going to another sandals in the future and our experience at Royal Barbados set the bar high!
