Good Place to Stay in Dublin

Cassidy's is located on the North side of Dublin and is about a 10 minute walk to the river area. We arrived in the morning after a red-eye flight from the US and the hotel was very accommodating and let us check in to our room early since it was already cleaned. Our room did not have A/C but it was cool enough during our May visit that it was not necessary. The window in the room was able to open to allow more air circulation as needed. The room was a good size and housekeeping staff did a great job keeping it clean. I would definitely recommend to other travelers! It is also near an Air Coach stop for a bus to the airport which takes about 25 minutes.

    Needs work.

We only spent one night in this hotel and were not impressed. The room was small but nice and bright but the mattress was definitely due to be replaced, and the carpet was old and dingey and the bathroom was falling apart. The shower door would not close all the way and the drain cover was broken off, loo roll holder falling off the wall. We had breakfast included and it was adequate. Considering the amount charged for the night I expected much more. The hotel is in a great location to explore the city.

Great location great breakfast great staff. Just what you need for a weekend in Dublin. Near enough to the centre but not in the thick of it. 11 of us had a great weekend. Near to the bus stop the the shuttle to and from the airport so no need to get a taxi.

If this hotel had been a family pet it would have been put down years ago. We had booked a double room but it contained a double and a single bed, so much less space to move around. The large windows looked out on to the back of another building complete with waste pipes and air-con vents; if we were careful we could just about see the sky! The bathroom was falling apart - literally. The toilet flush mechanism failed twice during our three night stay, the tiles had been painted white and were falling off the wall. The grab handle on the wall of the over-bath shower was falling off. the only toiletries supplied were two cheap soap/shower gel bottles which were glued to the wall. The shower gel was already empty on our arrival. Breakfast was adequate but unexciting, again the dining area had seen better days. The bar/bistro was shabby and tables were not cleaned between guests. There was building work going on in some rooms so we were greeted by wheelbarrows of rubble in the corridor and clouds of dust every time we left the room. The only saving grace was the welcoming and friendly staff. We will not be going back!

Stayed here for 2 nights as a couple over the early May bank holiday weekend as part of a British Airways holiday. The hotel is superbly located; within walking distance of most major sights but out of the main hustle and bustle of the Temple Bar area. There was still some noise at night but mainly from hotel guests returning not the streets. The room was ok. Fairly clean but with chipped/scratched/peeling furniture and walls. The bed wasn't the comfiest and we certainly should have asked for extra pillows as the ones we had were paper thin! That being said the shower was superb! Breakfast on our first day was great; hot food, pastries, cereals, fruit and juices! Breakfast on the second day was somewhat disappointing; the eggs/mushrooms were empty and not replaced for the duration of our visit and there were no pastries at all. We didn't use the restaurant or bar facilities otherwise so can't comment. Overall the hotel was fit for purpose and we enjoyed our time in the city but whilst I wouldn't urge anyone NOT to stay there I wouldn't recommend it if other options were available.
