Went out to rent paddle boards at Ft.Lauderdale’s Marriott Harbor Beach Bouyah Watersports. Danny, Andy, Chris, and Jayant were super helpful and friendly. They made me feel safe on the paddle board and even came out into the water to make sure we were okay. Best experience ever! I would highly recommend these guys!

After trying to recover from poor experiences at Marriott hotels I wanted to give it a new try. Being a Marriott Bonboy, as I am, thought could help. At the end of the day it did not matter. I had stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach a few years ago, and remembered that the experience had not been too bad. So here I go again, with my best attitude, and I unfortunately was set up for a not good experience. The main issue revolves on getting a terrible room, even when I had booked it months in advance. The room resembled a janitor’s closet, although I have to admit it was very clean. TV on a side wall. Un inviting large terrace with a view of nowhere, narrow bathroom with narrow sink and narrow shower. The furniture, although clean and in reasonable good condition, resembled pieces you would have expected in a log cabin from the 50s. Cleaning service advertised the possibility to program the time to have your room made, but that did not happen even after making a call and having a conversation. Room service for food arrived late when requested. I do have to say in their favor that the key functionality in the cell Phone worked well, and the toiletry request function in the app worked wonderfully as well, although I got two of each, perhaps assuming I was not on my own. Anyway. This is not a new low, because I had already hit with Marriott a similar low in the recent past. I hope the make it better. Marriott used to be a good Chain in the past.

Called to reserve a stay, as Titanium, I asked if upgrade was possible as I had my son staying with us and hoped for a larger room. First issue is the front desk placed me on hold 4 separate times, grilled me 4 times more as to why I asked to speak with a front desk manager- finally spoke with someone who informed me that they would pass me though and then waited an additional 10 minutes.. finally spoke w additional person who stated that- with quite an arrogant tone- i will put you in a suite that is under construction, has no balcony as that too in under construction, and - rest assured you will hear banging from 9 to 5! I then asked to (again) speak w front desk manager- she too had quite a tone and advised hotel under construction and the first front desk person surely must have advised me of such! i stayed here in the past and had great experience- guess since the merger-- customer service for the diehard loyalists has gone to the wayside! however, instead stayed at Singer island and experince was outstanding!

Celebrating 26 years and couldn’t have picked a better place. A room with a panoramic view of the ocean, the pool resort area and the intercostal waterway. A private beach, spa service and a fun pool area. Something for everyone. Outdoor restaurant and bar and extraordinary breakfast restaurant. Service was excellent . Thank you for wonderful weekend.
