Love the location. Close to everything you might want in Honolulu. Yes, it is a big hotel and it is a very crowded area. But isn't that what you want? Staff was helpful, rooms were nice. Pool is always not crowded as most people go to the beach right there. But the pool is a nice change.

This place needs a severe modernisation. It’s rather old school, has no concierge lounge and the food at the bar near the pool is average. Location pretty decent right near the beach front. Staff is friendly and service oriented. Facility requires a severe Restauration though. Think there are better places around at a similar price range.

Great location but not really a "resort"

My wife and I stayed here for a week in July. It is a big hotel with a good location close to the beach (but not ON the beach like Moana Surfrider or Royal Hawaiian). We had one of the newly refurbished rooms in the tower closest to the ocean. The room was not large but was nicely done, and the bed was outstanding! (I stay 75-100 nights a year in Marriotts and this was one of the best I have experienced) There are two fairly run-of-the-mill hotel pools here, and one ~8 person hot tub. You get some poolside service at one pool. and basically none at the other. Really nothing exciting and one of the reasons I find the "resort" label a little misleading. There is a pretty good breakfast buffet here with a big selection (although it doesn't change much day to day). It is complimentary for Titanium members as your welcome gift (for two people in a room I believe). Servers were all very friendly. Parking is SUPER expensive here...do your research online and you will find a MUCH cheaper alternative just across the street.

We spent four nights here as we visited family. Overall, the experience was terrific. They are under construction, but we did not hear any of the construction noise as it is happening mostly on the lower floors of the hotel. Note that the entrance to this Marriott is on ‘Ohua Ave. and not Paoakalani Ave. as Google map states. Typical of parking anywhere in Waikiki, it is expensive: $50 for valet and $45 for garage. The porters are friendly and work well together. The parking garage entrance is half-way down the block from the valet entrance. It is a tight garage and some people drive very aggressively so watch yourself before getting to each corner. The main hotel entrance is on the first floor but access to one of the towers/shops from the second and third levels. They also have a dedicated tour group part of the hotel where tour buses can pick you up away from the main entrance of the resort. Check-in is nice and simple with a wonderful staff behind the desk. They genuinely seem happy to see the guest and treat them with respect. Our room was nice and updated; a cozy place and well thought out. There is a small closet with a safe, ironing board, iron. A single cup coffee maker with some coffee and a mini-fridge. I have begun to understand and appreciate the sliding door to the bathroom so the door is not in the way when open, same for the shower. The rooms are not so isolated though as there was a larger than average (to me) gap at the bottom of our front door, roughly an eighth of an inch, 4 mm. It was convenient for the staff to slide papers under the door, but I thought it would be easy enough for insects to enter as well. Noise in the hallway can easily be heard in the room. The lanai had two chairs and a cot. The staff was excellent and polite. Our room keeper did not seem to take our “tip” we left, so we left a larger one upon our departure. This resort is on the east end of Waikiki but an easy walk to anywhere on the main street. Across the street, the beach has a rock wall so it is suitable for children to get into the ocean water although it can get a bit dirty. There are plenty of shops and restaurants on-site and more just block away. They have a saline swimming pool on the third floor. Grab some towels by the pool to lay out to get some sun or if you want to go out and explore other beaches. Good place to stay if you want a slightly (and honestly I mean “slightly”) calmer Waikiki experience but can get into the experience very easily by walking a few blocks to the west. Overall, a wonderful stay with pleasant and helpful staff and will definitely consider staying again the next time we visit in Waikiki.

Great place to see Waikiki just steps from the beach. Great service and very upscale place. I would recommend the beach view. Lots of food and shopping just steps away. I will return. Very polite staff and very professional. I would also recommend the valet parking. Just pull up and they take care of the rest.
