The A/C wasn't working for 2 days. We only received 10% of what we paid. The unit wasnt cleaned well. Dust and feathers behind the futon bed. The fan was covered in dust. The unit was well stocked in the kitchen.

Nice place. You do not have any kind of maid service, fresh towels or toiletries available. If you need toilet paper or paper towels will have to buy yourself. Not very convenient. The people visiting all we're very nice.

Represented by CRH (Condominium Rentals Hawaii), our reservation at Sugar Beach Resort was booked via Groupon. A maintenance issue with our assigned suite and misinterpretation of our original reservation put us into a lower room category than booked & paid for, when we checked in. The check-in staff were surly & unhelpful, deferring us to the CRH after-hours number (also unhelpful). It took the full 7-days of our stay, playing phone tag with CRH to resolve this issue, which detracted from our stay on Maui. ['Shout out' to Shyla for refunding us the difference between room categories, plus a further 10% discount for the inconvenience, and the courtesy of a late check-out.] For this reason, and this reason alone, this review rates 2 stars instead of 1. While the complex & grounds keeping seemed fairly well taken care of, and the beachfront location & view from our room enjoyable, the units (decor & furnishings) are a throwback to the 80's - although 'clean' and livable (with decent amenities), they are dated & well-worn, with upkeep more a patchwork of Band-Aid fixes than desperately needed upgrades & renovation. I get that this is 'value' accommodation, not a luxury resort, but I'd be hard-pressed to stay at Sugar Beach Resort again, never mind a recommendation.

Easy, breezy condo with everything you need. NOT a luxury place. Unit #522.

Stayed in unit #522, which can use some upgrading for sure. Overall the unit was fine, and the view was directly facing the ocean. The couch was comfy to sleep on and the appliances worked. The TV was a flat screen and worked fine. Had beach chairs and toys, but no beach towels.

The quiet suite was a nice size with the balcony facing the pool and sunset view of the water. Disappointing to find a long-sized hair in the fridge upon arrival and then another long-sized hair hanging from the bathroom fan in the shower. The attention to detail is overlooked in the cleaning, apparently. There are no pillows in the seating area which is odd. The furnishings are outdated. Nice to have a full kitchen to use. Only one place for food at the hotel and we didn't bother going in. Hot tub came in handy.
