We stayed from a Sunday to a Friday and had an amazing time! It was in the triple digits so we enjoyed the pool during the day and seen shows and enjoyed the night life after dark! Our first stay off the strip and it was perfect

Let me start by saying I did not choose this hotel. This was a girls trip planned by a friend of mine so I had no expectations and thankfully so. Let me start by saying the staff is super friendly and the rooms are big. Aesthetically this hotel needs lots of work. Rooms and furniture need a major update and they can start by pulling up the carpet. Housekeeping (or at least ours) barely cleaned. I didn’t expect them to scrub but do more then make the bed and throw out the garbage in the can. We didn’t leave a huge mess but the only way we knew the room was cleaned was because the beds were made and 1 day they didn’t come at all (and yes we left a tip which made NO difference). We watched for 3 days to see if a large feather (looked like it came from a costume and was about the length of a ruler) that was in front our door in the hallway would ever be moved.....it wasn’t. Not that we couldn’t do it BUT we were just wondering if we were expecting too much from the housekeeping department. Garbage that people put in the halls in the AM would not be moved until the next day if that. Other than gambling and the pool not much to do unless you want to see penn and teller. Music by the pool was good. We checked out the club but didn’t stay longer than 15-20 min....I guess NYC night life has spoiled me. Food at the deli (the one that’s open until like 6am) serves pretty good bar food. Food at the pool is no good. And your better off getting your own food and drinks rather then wait for the pool waitresses to assist. We eventually got everything ourselves after waiting 30 minutes. It would be nice if they offered a shuttle to the strip however Uber prices were not bad at all. Approximately $8 for us to to go to the strip. Cost more when you take a regular taxi which we did one time. Also cheaper if you take an Uber back and forth from the airport ($25-28 via cab approximately $11-13 Uber). There is a liquor store walking distance (like 1 long block) if you want to stock your room with liquor and snacks. Prices much cheaper than the gift shop. There is a Starbucks in the lobby but the prices are drastically different (more expensive) from what I pay in NYC. My tip. Do your research. If your willing to pay a little more do it and or look for other hotels with similar price points as Rio and see what others posted.

    Ok if rooms are free

Excessive smoke smell, noise, dated rooms, limited in room amenities. Room service trays in halls for over a day. Pool was nice as we had a cabana. $770 spent at pool. Pool only open 11-6?. With food ending at 4 pm.? Music at adult pool way too loud. Make it difficult to think.
