We just returned from Casa Conde after a week escape from the cold winter in Toronto. Casa Conde turned out to be the perfect place for the four of us. It is a tranquil small resort with a beautiful long beach to watch the sun set from. Rooms are well appointed with a outdoor sitting area facing the pool and beach. Food was excellent with several choices and daily specials that were all wonderful. Appreciated the selection of fresh fruit and variety of cooked vegetables. I am more of a beach person and therefore spend more time there, but the two pools were great spaces with enough lounge chairs and spacing for everyone to find a great place to enjoy the sun, shade or water. Service at all meals and the bars is excellent. The staff are to be commended for their service, attention to detail and pleasant smiles. We arranged a few excursions from the helpful staff at the front that were fun adventures into true jungle, river and volcano. Casa Conde is a excellent choice if you are looking for a smaller resort with quality. I would highly recommend it and would love to go back.

We were a little worried when we booked this hotel because of it's size but we were very pleased when we got there. The staff welcomed us right away and the check in was so smooth compared to some of the other larger resorts. First, the rooms were large and very comfortable with lots of closet space, a large bathroom and a cute sitting area with lots of natural light, The fridge was always stocked with beer, water and pop and there was also a tray of snacks(chips and such) left in our room. There are two pools on the resort, each with a swim up bar which were never crowded. Most of the time we had the pools to ourselves. Never did we have to save pool chairs as there were lots to go around. The resort is right on the beach and if we planned on spending some time out there the staff was right there to carry our chairs for us and bring us towels. The food was fantastic. The buffet was not large but it was always fresh and well prepared. During our 12 days there the menu was not repeated once. Also, there were no line-ups at all!!! The service by all the staff could not be better. Twice we got a call to our room to see if there was anything extra they could do for us. Daniel at the sports bar was fantastic with his special flaming drinks and he even made a custom drink for us ladies. I can't say enough good things about this resort. Our stay was the best and we will be back very soon to see more of your beautiful country.

We just returned from a week at Casa Conde Beach Front Hotel and had an absolutely fabulous time! The small, peaceful resort is lovely and exactly what we were looking for. The food at the buffet was fresh, and varied, with new selections every night. Interesting and tasty fish, chicken, beef, pork options every night, loads of local vegetables. A "special" offering every night, such as: seafood paella, pupusas, tacos, bbq, picadillos ... All four of us loved the food, including lunch and breakfast. We have stayed at numerous all-inclusive resorts, and the service at Casa Conde was the best we have encountered. Everyone was friendly, polite, and attentive. We were especially pleased to get to know Steven, Luis, and Juan. The beach was so naturally beautiful, clean, and never crowded, with natural shade from trees. It is a dark sand beach, so the water does not look turquoise blue as in the Caribbean. However, the water itself was crystal clear. We enjoyed spending time on the beach with locals, to get a better sense of the place. The water is calm and perfect for swimming because of the bay. Regarding the few negative reviews: were we at the same place? Our Superior Room was clean and comfortable. Eating in the covered, open-air restaurant was sublime. I have never stayed at a place with such consistently pleasant staff. We came here specifically for the simplicity, to hear birds and waves rather than blasting music and activity coordinators. We will definitely be back.

This resort lived up to its reviews. This was our second visit to this beautiful country - the last time we stated at the Westin - and our first stay at the Casa Conde Beachfront Hotel (which I discovered through a CAA email and was attracted to by the great reviews and, in my view, very reasonable price). This is not a 5 star resort and does not offer all of the amenities that some resorts may offer. However it offered everything we were seeking for a week long escape from winter - great service, good food, clean and comfortable accommodations, nice weather and relaxation. As some reviewers have noted, there are not a lot of onsite activities and not a lot of nightlife. If these are things you seek Casa Conde may not be the place for you. However, if you seek the things I listed above then I highly recommend this resort. Although our package included round trip transfers we rented a car which gave us added flexibility but, other than a drive to Playa del Coco one day, we didn't use it. We booked a couple of excursions through Tico Tours (onsite) but otherwise were perfectly happy to relax on the beautiful and peaceful grounds. The resort is small (only 50 rooms) which means (i) no long line-ups for breakfast, lunch or dinner, (ii) no rushing to secure prime chairs by the pool, (iii) relative peace and quiet (no poolside karaoke or exercise classes or loud music) and (iv) attentive service. The food was good - fresh and offering a lot of variety. I have been to a number of all-inclusive resorts and don't think I would recommend any of them based purely on the food. Casa Conde was as good as any of them (and better than many). We had two adjoining superior rooms and both were very clean, very quiet and very comfortable. The refrigerators were stocked with beer and soft drinks although we did not spend much time in our rooms drinking. Instead we relaxed by the freshwater pool, enjoyed cocktails at the swim-up bar and basked in the sun. The beach was clean and, as are all beaches in Costa Rica, public but never crowded. We swam in the ocean a few times but generally stayed by the pool. In addition to the two poolside bars, there is a small bar near the beach that is open in the evening. We went there on several occasions to have a drink, watch soccer and/or play pool. Nothing fancy but very enjoyable nevertheless. All of the bars stocked premium liquor and offered a wide variety if this sort of thing is important to you. Finally the staff were fantastic. Every single person we encountered at the Casa Conde Beachfront Hotel - from the folks at the front desk when we checked in, to the the staff in the restaurants, the poolside staff, the cleaning crew, the spa staff, the groundskeepers and, last but definitely not least, the bartenders, was friendly, helpful, attentive, polite and professional. They definitely made us feel like valued guests. We would highly recommend the Casa Conde Beachfront Hotel for a relaxing Costa Rican vacation.

Most terrible place in Costa Rica

Let me start by saying we paid $520 for one night stay, this place is advertised as 4 star boutique hotel and pet friendly. upon check in I was handed a 8.5x11 paper of Dog house rules, can't take the dog here or there and you can't leave her alone either!! No restaurant, pool, common grounds, on and on....Dog has to bring her own food bowl, place mat, bed, etc (which I do everywhere I go anyways, as would most dog owner). We get in our room and it smells like stale sheets and towels, terrible old smell. Cobweb on the light fixtures and the mini bar ( oh yes it is all inclusive) is from the 70's filled with water and 4 beer (no juice no hard alcohol). The pool (which we were not allowed because of the dog) looked disgusting Told us we can go to the beach with the dog but also it was casually mentioned that it is a public beachv(what a surprise, I can take my dog to a public beach). I asked the waiter if I could make a reservation for one of their A La Carte restaurants (it was literally outside in the garden area where all the iguanas hang out) he said we could eat there. After a terrible dinner (Tapas, so we ordered 6 items and only had a bite of each; to a point even the waiter noticed we did not eat anything) we went to our room to realize walls are paper thin.Listened to our neighbors for most of the night and woke up to their waking up at 6 am. Shower was a disaster. Breakfast buffet was as epic as dinner. We felt ripped off, and disgusted by everything about this place.
