    Great hotel

    Overall this was a great place to stay. Pros - The staff was awesome, the food was delicious (make reservations early!) the pools were clean, bartenders didn’t water down the drinks and were quick to suggest drinks if asked. The negatives - complementary WiFi sucks. No service if you are at the pool, or just outside the hotel. One of the two hot tubs was “receiving treatment” the entire week we were there and was unusable. Elevators were slow and in need of service. Breakfast - you only have one option - the buffet which is nothing exceptional, we went to the coffee bar everyday and got a muffin instead.

    Very Misleading Resort

    Would never recommend this resort to anyone! We were looking for a decent resort given we were traveling with 4 kids and didn't want to spend a fortune but still wanted something nice with good food. I went into this vacation knowing this place had a lot of mixed reviews. Bar staff were not friendly at all. We have stayed at other resorts in Jamaica and came back because the Jamaicans were such friendly people.I will say, the wait staff in the buffet and restaurants were great and friendly. Food was mediocre at best. Drinks were horrible.We had two rooms with 2 adults and 2 children in one room and 1 adults and 1 child in the other room. Two rooms and two rates based upon the guest listed. At check in they wanted to charged me an extra $750 for two kids. After speaking to another manager I was told they wouldn't charge me and the total I had when making my reservation was what would be charged. Come to find once I got home and checked my credit card statement, they did charge me. At check out they only gave me my extra charges (incidentals) not the total bill. Had to log onto my Hilton account to get all the full bill. Make sure you get the full bill when you check out. The only positive thing I can say about this resort was that the pool was nice, lots of activities for adults and kids and entertainment staff was excellent. The water park only has two slides and a small lazy river. BUT for the money you can stay at many other resorts that have way better food and nicer rooms

    We stayed in room 727 which had 2 queen beds and a view of the ocean and golf course. It was a very nice view and very happy with it. Went here for our daughters sweet 16 birthday and she loved it! There was a long check in period when we first arrived but based on reviews knew there would be. Only complaint have is that one of the jacuzzis were not working so had only 1 running. As far as reservations we were able to go to every restaurant we wanted...the ones with and without reservations. There was also plenty of food everywhere all day so you will never go hungry! I would like to give a special shout out to one employee that deserves to definitely be highlighted as he made sure my husband was always without a drink during the night live show as well as drinks for myself and virgin drinks for our daughter. His name is "Johnoin" and trust me when I say this resort needs more employees like him! He was wonderful, attentive and the best employee at this resort! He definitely deserves recognition! Giving service only 4 stars and not 5 as everyone else not up to Johnoins standards! As far as people complaining about water tubes there was some parts of the days tubes were scarce to get....but once you just floated in the water without one you eventually ended up with one. Also some people brought there own to the pool (not sure if they sold them at gift shop or brought from home). That was definitely a great idea so don't have to worry about getting one from hotel when all used. Would definitely come back again as a family. If was traveling as a couple I may try a different resort as this is very family oriented and fit exactly what we needed for this trip!

    Had a great time with family. Kids loved the waterpark. Great food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very committed to all-inclusive. Nice pools, snacks, drinks. Lovely grounds. Decent gym. Beautiful setting. Great evening entertainment. Problems: Check-in was a glacial nightmare; check-out the same. Elevators were brokendown and very slow. One beach was closed due to seaweed infestation. Tennis courts/shop was closed the whole time because "the tennis guy not showin up". Apparently nobody on staff thought this was a problem. Kids camp was not very active; not a huge amount of physical activity generally.

    Heading home today after spending 8 days at Hilton Rose Hall. I had seen some negative reviews prior to our leaving that caused me concern.....and it was wasted worry on my part! The hotel and property are lovely. Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to ensure we we were well taken care of. Our room was clean and quiet. Housekeeping staff was in twice a day. Buffet food was outstanding, as was the Italian Specialty Restaurant and Annie’s BarBQue. All other specialty restaurants were very good. We loved the casual outside options during the day.....good burgers and fries! The jerk chicken hut on the eastern beach area was fabulous. It really is a family resort......music and daytime games/activities at the pool were appropriate and fun. Main pool was great.....very clean. In summary, we enjoyed this resort from beginning to end. About 50% couples over 50 and 50% families. No bachelor parties or large groups of singles. We recommend!
