Extremely Disappointed

I booked a New Years Eve 2020 stay at the Marriott World Center and flew my family down from Cleveland, OH. No where on their website or in speaking with anyone at the resort did they mention that their main pool was closed. So after my kids got to the pool and found out they couldn’t swim we went to do the slides. My 7 year old who is exactly 48” tall was not allowed to ride the slides and was told we had to go to the baby pool where my 9 year old who is over 48 inches tall was not allowed to play. Good times.....thanks Marriott!
Nice layout, nice staff and a great vibe.

Enjoyed the experience here for a conference and the relaxation of the hotel. Even living near by, this is a great getaway place at a fair price. Vast layout and they pour a strong drink too at many of the bars.
Great Experience during Recent Conference Participation with few exceptions

I attended the Scaling New Heights Conference at the Marriott World Center from 11/7 to 11/11.... It was an outstanding place to host a conference for numerous reasons - one being the convenience (the conference center was literally steps away from the accommodations). Also, in the midst of the pandemic, the facilities management were excellent at adhering to the safe-distancing and masking protocols recommended by the CDC which included hand sanitizing stations throughout, as well as providing barriers for food service and the ability to spread out for our 400 or so attendees and facilitators. As far as rooms go, I was in a pool-side room on the 6th floor offering gorgeous views that I enjoyed every night. Room service was limited, which was fine with me, as I did 't really need it as it was just me staying in the room for the duration. As amenities go, there were plenty of dining options onsite, and there were two onsite shops on the premises. I was disappointed that the main shop had limited hours of operation, so I didn't get a chance to shop there, but the prices seemed fairly reasonable compared to many other hotel shops I frequented. I do want to give a shoutout to Angelix who checked me into my room on November 7. My room was paid for by the event organizers, but other front desk staff wanted to charge me for the daily resort fees. Since I parked in a handicapped driver space with permit the entire time, Angelix worked it out to where those fees were waived - very much appreciated! :) Now, I am working on getting points credited to my BONVOY account with Marriott which will be icing on the cake. My experience overall was excellent, and I highly recommend this facility.
Resort fee meh. Location good. Pool loud.

I've stayed here many times for conventions. In general the hotel is good for a convention, though you will have to walk very far to get to the convention center from the rooms (that's par for most conventions though). There are lots of restaurants on site and the ubers are plentiful. If you are here for a disney park, it's a quick ride to all of them. There is a resort fee, which is awful (yes, it is deceptive to add on fees rather than including them in the advertised room cost), but unless they lose a lawsuit for charging the fee, I don't think it's going anywhere. The hotel is cashless right now because of the pandemic and they have reduced the number of shops that are open on Mon-Thurs (this isn't a problem--less places are open, but they appear to overlap on what each sells). Housekeeping will not clean your room every day (which is a good thing, pandemic and all). My most recent trip I was upgraded from a regular room to a pool view room. Not ideal for a business traveler. Even though there is no one in the pool--the hotel is like a ghost town right now, pandemic and all--there has been music playing all day. And it never stops. That might not seem late, but when you have an early morning, or you are trying to work from your hotel room, it is really difficult to tolerate music playing to a crowd of exactly zero (I don't even know if the pool is open to be honest--we haven't seen anyone in our around it). Besides the noise from the pool, the hotel was quiet. The staff is very pleasant and has been every time I've stayed here. The rooms have been recently updated (and the new tile in the bathroom is much less slippery than before--a huge improvement). Unfortunately they did not add electrical outlets to the room in the remodel (there is an easily accessible outlet on only one side of the bed, rather than both sides). Every room I've ever stayed in has a balcony, so I assume they all do, which is great if you want to air your room out after you arrive.
Warning - pool is closed

Unfortunately their main pool is broken “indefinitely” due to a crack that occurred earlier this week. Nobody alerted us upon check-in and unfortunately we had picked this hotel for its incredible pool. They had a much smaller pool way off to the side that they opened but there was no pool service or food available. We sat an hour with our flag up and no server came by. The shuttle to Disney is also not running most days, they told us, so they offer taxi reimbursements instead. There is a ton of construction around the hotel so it is difficult to navigate driving as well. We ended up switching hotels and were able to get a lot more amenities for a much more affordable price at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cyprus. We just couldn’t justify the resort fee here when no amenities were operational, I’m surprised they aren’t waiving that for the time being. The property is beautiful and I imagine would be incredible if it was fully up and running but it sounds like it will be a long time until the pool area is open again :(
